It’s hard to judge a system before taking part in it, but just why? While Renown is a little better than just pure reputation paths, it’s not like it’s a grand, awesome system that should be incorporated in everything going forward. The system will just be used as a grinding point. Just another chore and system to make sure you have the most available skill points for builds. It’s honestly reminding me a lot of the Lost Ark system of reaching certain levels and collection to upon your max quantity of skill points.
It's probably going to be more similar to Dragon Flight renown system in WoW. Don't know if I'm going to like the system or not. If they make it so that you gain rep organically then that's fine. If we have the option to power level it then sure why not that's an added bonus.
I just want more buttons to press with lower cooldowns, but I am aware this is the game we're getting. It's just a shame to me that consoles interfere with production and development. I don't think anything is wrong with making a proper Diablo game and console players can just use bumpers and triggers in concert with the main buttons like FF or Ark or a bunch of others.
No one likes the renown system in WoW, better put it in Diablo as well.
The paragon system in D3 was purely about passive stats. It was/is useful and permanently beneficial for gameplay. Cosmetics were only aquired mostly by farming specific areas or enemies or accidental drops.The renown system in WoW is overwhelmingly about cosmetics and every few levels a chest with a handfull of resources you can aquire in the world within minutes aswell. Less than half of it, per one of the four faction, is about something thats actually useful for gameplay like passive bonus for resource drops. This is overwhelmingly NOT useful or beneficial for gameplay. Worst part of it is the progress is not accountwide but the rewards are when it comes to unlocked cosmetics for gear and dragon customizations.Now D4 gets the same. Its like they copy the bad ideas from their own games to paste them into other games or they swap developers between games because the same mistakes happen in their games all over. They dont learn from their mistakes. Thats why they have to revamp their mechanics so often.D4 sounds less and less appealing to me.
renown barely works in wow. its very unfriendly to alt play... and now we are inserting it into a stupid ARPG with its idiotic 3 months character reset system so its just one more BS system to have to regrind every season...... how about they make some actual solid good end game instead of this yea its new every 3 months because we make you wipe all your progress and have 0 connection to your characters
