Otto Mount Found - Fish Around the Dragon Isles for Otter Mount

Posted 2022/12/19 at 11:52 PM by Neryssa

OttoSecret Finding CommunityDISCLAIMER: Before starting the hunt for Otto, it is highly recommended (but not required if you don't want to do Lunkers) to have the Iskaaran Harpoon fishing gear unlocked, which requires Renown 7 with the Iskaara Tuskarr and Dragon Isles Fishing 25. You can read more about lunkers in our dedicated Fishing Hole guide:

The toy is a guaranteed drop from the Immaculate Sac of Swog Treasures, the best bag purchased from The Great Swog by a cave in the southeastern portion of Ohn'ahran Plains.

The Immaculate Sac of Swog Treasures costs 1 Gold Coin of the Isles, which can be (very rarely fished) or exchanged for 5 Silver Coin of the Isles (which are exchanged for 15 Copper Coin of the Isles). To obtain one Gold Coin, you need a total of 75 Copper Coin of the Isles.

All coins can be obtained while fishing in the Dragon Isles or defeating Lunker mobs in fishing holes. Lunker raids are by far the fastest way to obtain coins, so grab your Iskaaran Harpoon and go to town!

Once you have the required coins, simply exchange them and purchase the toy with the Great Swog.

The Great Swog cave can be found at 81.9 72.1 in the Ohn'ahran Plains.

With the Aquatic Shades in hand, head to the Bubble Bath, the Dive Bar off the coast of the Waking Shores, north of the Obsidian Throne. At the bar, find a dancing mat and stand on it - You will start dancing and get the debuff Dance, Dance 'Til You're Dead.

Once the dance debuff expires, you will pass out and wake up by the Hissing Grotto in the Waking Shores (just above the dive bar), next to a barrel. Interact with it to loot the Empty Fish Barrel.

The Bubble Bath dive bar cave can be found at 19.6 36.5 in the Waking Shores.

100 Frigid Floe Fish - A relatively high drop fish that can be fished in the open waters of Iskaara in Azure Span. Using the barrel with 100 Frigid Floe Fish gives you a Half-Filled Fish Barrel.

25 Calamitous Carp, a rare drop fish that can be fished in the lava around the Obsidian Citadel in Waking Shores. As this is considered a rare reagent, Fishing gear with Perception helps speed this up. Using the barrel with 25 Calamitous Carp gives you a Brimming Fish Barrel.

1 Kingfin, the Wise Whiskerfish, a rare drop fish that can be fished in the waters by Alge'thar Academy in Thaldraszus. There is a small dock in the area which is perfect for fishing. It is currently unconfirmed, but Perception gear might also make this grind a lot faster. Using the barrel with the Whiskerfish gives you an Overflowing Fishing Barrel.

Straight on the to-do list, thanks

With the shades equipped walk onto the lit up dance floor and you'll start dancing and get the debuff

~~With the shades on and dancing on the mat I haven't gotten a debuff even after 8 minutes of dancing.~~

Amazing!

Neat!

For those wondering... its located IN THE WATER.

Came to the location and spent a few minutes flying the round area looking for a dance mat to no avail; decided to stick my head in the water and lo-and-behold!

Can you fish while mounted on Otto?

Comment by Saadia

do you need lava fishing (iskaara renown 15) for Calamitous carps ?

Comment by Magenpie

Hooray! I love the Ottuk mounts and was really looking forward to getting one, and I've just obtained Otto!

Took just under two hours start to finish. Was using the Draconium Fisherfriend, Weather-Beaten Hat and bronze level Perception Phials, and I was able to log out and order some more Perception phials from my Alchemist without losing any progress.

Good luck with getting yours easily, folks, and thanks so much to the Secret Finding Discord for their ferreting! <= This is an appropriate mustelid pun of sorts (otters and ferrets are mustelids, as are badgers and wolverines, so there you go. I'll go away now. ^^)

No you don't and interestingly, I fished up two magma threshers without the lava pool ability. Happy ottuk fishing!

No. They drop without it.

A note for tauren players: the glasses don't scale with the mount's model at the moment, so at bigger sizes the lenses will just clip inside the model and look fairly awful.

Who knows, maybe it'll get fixed, maybe not!

Comment by CinereousStyx

I'll be right on my way to the Bubble Bath soon as weeklies are done when maintenance is over!

Some notes..

Perception does NOT give you higher chance for any of this.. do not get confused!
Neither does ++ on fishing gear..

Perception when it procs, gives you xtra of the "rare" and the 30 min it takes to get the "rare" blue fish.. no procs.

I have seen plenty of procs on COINS.. nothing else..

Do not go wasting your gold on perception gear or ++ fishing gear.. it is not needed for this particular "secret"

9k +fished so far in dragonlands...

"140 in perception" with pot.

I wonder if it does the same to gnomes since they use the same scaling. This actually makes me sad...

What is a 'lunker' raid? I've never seen it.

Comment by Dezip

This farm for the coins is really meh, when other ppl can grief you to hell. Had a few ppl grief the fish for like 20 mins. Until most of the raid gave up.
