what in the world is an "overlay"?
Cool, even less reasons to level in the expansion I hated leveling in the most to begin with. Seals the deal that I'll never have to level in that dreadful expansion ever again. Win-win!
This change makes total sense. For once, there shouldn't be too many people finding a way to complain.
Good! It was an awful experience and I regret choosing it on my alt.
Please reconsider! Removing this option is a terrible decision as it will now force anyone who wants to return to the Shadowlands on alts into the same linear storyline we've already done. I, and many others, greatly enjoyed Threads of Fate and now will likely never quest in Shadowlands again because of this change. PLEASE reconsider. :(
Not a bad change since SL isn't gonna be required to level through.
This is 100% a bad change because it removes the the option for players to level up freely in four zones and dungeons rather than follow a linear quest path.Why are so many white knights saying that this is a good change or not a bad change? If you don’t want to level up through Threads of Fate, you have never had to choose that option!Threads of Fate was innovative. You could level up efficiently just by killing mobs, interacting with objects, running through Torghast or dungeons, or doing battlegrounds. It is literally a waste of content to throw this option away.
So if it doesn't kick players *out* of threads of fate, that means it has to be fully functional. So why are we not letting others join in when you've already done the hard part of making sure it functions anyway?
Fair enough. It was a terrible system anyway and with a 75% nerf can't really complain about linear leveling.

I admit I didn't read the entire blue post so my info may be wrong about what is happening here but I don't mind the removal of the threads of fate but also find being locked into a very long quest chain just for lore to be one of the most dreadful things in existence. If they opened up the ability to do the zones in any order despite the quest line then I am fine with the move to chromie time, if not then like others have expressed, I probably will not set foot in this expansion zones again for anything other than picking up profession recipes.

This sounds like an incredibly bad idea since Threads is also the only way to skip the SL story iirc. So that means if anyone ever wants to farm SL content at max level they are now going to be forced to do the full SL levelling campaign before they can even pick a Covenant and get started?And this is not even taking into account that they are taking away a major aspect of an expansion because it'll take them a little extra work in balancing xp. The zones are already properly scaling on Beta, so that work is done. Worried that doing the full Threads content won't be enough for 10-60? Honestly even in that case leave Threads in anyway even if it doesn't give enough xp for it all, there are other expansions to go to still if you run out.Just don't take the lazy way out and kill off even more of your game.
