Children's Week Holiday 2022 (May 2 - 9) - Catch-up Year, Nothing New

It’s time to give back to the children of Azeroth during Children’s Week! Take an orphan under your wing and show them the wonders of the world.Throughout the year, the orphans of Azeroth spend much of their time wandering their home cities, dreaming of the day they’ll be old enough (and big enough) to go out into the world to experience the adventures and marvels they’ve missed as children. During Children’s Week, the giving souls of the Horde and the Alliance can help make those dreams come true.
Traveling with orphans is now easier than ever! All orphans (except Wolvar and Oracle) now have their own mounts, making it all that much easier to show them the wonders of Azeroth.

Levels: Available to characters level 10 or above
Where:

Kul Tiran and Zandalari: Orphan Matron Westerson in Boralus to start the Kul Tiran orphan quest line; Padae in Zuldazar to start the Zandalari orphan quest line
Human and Orc: Orphan Matron Nightingale in Stormwind; Orphan Matron Battlewail in Orgrimmar
Draenei and Blood Elf: Orphan Matron Mercy in Shattrath
Wolvar and Oracle: Orphan Matron Aria in Dalaran.

Pets
Showing your orphaned child around can be beneficial to you and the child. Once you’ve completed the various quests associated with this event, you’ll have a choice of several pets to add to your Battle Pet collection:Boralus and Zuldazar:Mr. Crabs, Beakbert, Froglet, and ScaleyOrgrimmar and Stormwind:Whiskers the Rat, Speedy, Scooter the Snail, Mr. WigglesShattrath: Egbert, Peanut, Willy, LegsDalaran (Northrend):Curious Oracle Hatchling, Curious Wolvar PupIf you’ve collected all these pets through the years you’ll be rewarded with the Pet Care Package which provides a variety of items, including pug costumes, Magical Pet Biscuit, and a Flawless Battle-Stone.

Complete the following Children’s Week achievements listed below, and you’ll earn the title reward of Matron or Patron: Home Alone; Daily Chores; School of Hard Knocks; Bad Example; Aw, Isn’t It Cute?; and Hail to the King, Baby.Home Alone (Part of the Meta-Achievement)
Use your Hearthstone while your orphan is with you.Daily Chores (Part of the Meta-Achievement)
Complete five daily quests with your orphan out.School of Hard Knocks (Part of the Meta-Achievement)
Take your orphan into the Battlegrounds and complete the feats listed below:

Capture the flag in Eye of the Storm, assault a tower in Alterac Valley, assault a flag in Arathi Basin, return a fallen flag in Warsong Gulch

Bad Example (Part of the Meta-Achievement)
Eat the sweets listed below while your orphan is watching.

Tigule’s Strawberry Ice Cream, Tasty Cupcake, Red Velvet Cupcake, Delicious Chocolate Cake, Lovely Cake Slice, Dalaran Brownie, Dalaran Doughnut

Aw, Isn’t It Cute? (Part of the Meta-Achievement)
Obtain one of the Children’s Week reward pets through questing.Hail to the King, Baby (Part of the Meta-Achievement)
Defeat King Ymiron in Utgarde Pinnacle with your orphan out.Veteran Nanny
Acquire Egbert’s Egg, Sleepy Willy, and Elekk Training Collar on one character.

These are the items that unlock the battle pets Egbert, Willy, and Peanut.

WoW ClassicThe WoW Classic version of Children's Week is also available for the giving souls of the Horde and the Alliance to help make orphan dreams true. Unfortunately, when you have collected all the mounts, pets and achievements, there is little incentive to participate. I think that even adding the simple objects like hearthstones was at least something new to collect. Hopefully the next xpac brings new items, achievements or even a slight overhaul to world events. After all, a lot of people still participate for the 'previously known as Big Love Rocket' mount. Maybe not so grindy though... Try and have a plan going into each BG. Watch a vid or two for info and then just try and enjoy it as much as you can. Sure, you won't necessarily get each one done first try, but eventually, determination will see you through.

I don't much care for PVP, but if it gets me something, I'll do it and I'll do my best to have fun in the process.

That said, I don't think it's an achievement that has sttod up to the test of time very well. I mean, we are literally taking a small child into harm's way. I know it can't get hurt, but still, it seems an odd thing to put in a game - take a child into danger! It just seems a bit off considering how Blizz has been on a bit of a "sanitize the game" jag recently.Comment by ToraziyalJust wanna say thanks for the great headline. Why do people have to play only 1 content?

Pvp players complaining theres pve grind for their bis and pve players cry when theres easy battleground to do.

I like it when there are stuff like that so pve players who didnt know pvp could be fun gets to experience it that way or vise versa.

Thanks to this achievement and rank 3 blood of the enemy + conflict and strife I got hooked into pvp from being an pve only achievement hunter.

I hope blizzard let this stay and add more stuff like this so new players like me and more people get into pvp just like how I did.Comment by fairycat11Just need the AV part of school of hard knocks achievement inorder to finish the achievement what a long strange trip it's been......been working on it for 3 years now. Been in battle grounds with people who have been trying to get it completed for more years then I have been. 4 out of 40 people are allowed to cap the towers and a bunch of times the person capping doesnt even have their orphan out.
