Easy Orb Collection in the Menagerie Encounter: Tazavash Streets of Wonder - Mythic+ Tip of the Week

Posted 2022/04/09 at 4:42 AM by Squishei

Fight Basics

During Phase 1, the boss will put out a debuff called Grand Consumption that will jump between players periodically.

During Phase 2 onwards, the boss will release orbs in all directions that can be picked up by the player with Grand Consumption to get stacks of Volatile Anima increasing damage by 5% per stack.

Easy Menagerie OrbsGrand Consumption

Orbs are confined by the doorway on 3 sides and can only escape in one direction.

Many of the orbs will get trapped in the back corner.

k so

zo': tank him in an outer circle; kill the automa before engaging the real boss
menagerie: ^, use a Potion of Unhindered Passing if you get targetted (it can and will get really messy as the boss hp drains)
postmaster: kill wo and stack so you dont cover the room, dont soak the puddles
oasis: kill wo, you can pull one from a random pack and fd; if you take the mice i am absolutely out. :)
so'azmi: jump in and back so the group doesnt have to search for the tank

stormheim: adds are cc-able, *do it*; sticks are casted by the scalebinders btw
drake: don't be afraid to take 1-2 hits, that is what healer is for - stack them for otk
so'leyah: just be at max range from stars

one thing more, if you have a party member with slow loading just kite some of the adds near spawn - they can dps albeit without graphics! foooor a minute in my case.. ;d

BTW Squishei, the debuff that allows a player to eat orbs is actually called Gluttony, not Grand Consumption.

I hope they do hot fix it.
Watching you *!@#$s whine about fun is hilarious.

Comment by ToviValdora

I bet they won't hotfix it. They're too distracted with Dragonflight.

This encounter has been in the live game for 10 months now. If they didn't "fix" it before, they won't do so now.

Hotfix Notes dated 10th Apr: In Menagerie encounter, boss has learned players' smart ways of collecting orbs and have decided to spawn the orbs in the MIDDLE OF THE ROOM, regardless of where the boss is.

There you go, something like this should be up soon™ 😎

Ah nvm, forgot the countless fixes for nearly everything in both parts of tazavesh in the last weeks.

10 months ago nearly no one cared, now its a competitive timed dungeon :)

Doubtful. This is just another example of "players" searching for reasons to whine about blizzard, then when too lazy to find one they decide to just make stuff up.

Comment by Weezull

Ok but can the tank get out of there without taking a bunch of balls to the face?

Comment by Nnyco

Putting him in a corcer or doorway feels more like rational thinking rather than cheese.

I do hope this gets fixed. It creates an expectation for the tank to do this every single time or the players will be annoyed with them, but I'd rather just not worry about any weird strats and just play the game.

Comment by MaximusPM

This is such a much more useful post then "look at this chart, it got colored lines to tell you which class you should play"

Comment by Moosplauze

At a low level players will not expect it and not care about it, they just want to play the game like you do.

Even if that door gets fixed... there are other parts of that encounter area where you can do the same thing. The corners of the stage for example. You can kill the second boss there and have pretty much the same outcome, if you get him close enough to that corner. Three orbs stuck at the crates and two moving away in a really easy to absorb fashion.

They would need to completely get rid of all the interior and make it so the boss just refuses to go to the edge of the room. Which they obviously won't do.

I guess, maybe I'm just irked that there's a WoWhead article talking about it, because it's communicating the strategy to a broad/general audience despite (as you would say) only being relevant to a small fraction of the community (high-level players).

I main tank and you'd be surprised some of the ridiculous things people get upset over. I've had people leave keys for route disagreements because they saw X route in MDI. I've noticed a tendency for people to sometimes take this stuff intended for high level players and think they need to play like that.
