Honestly if they think the raids aren't hard enough they are out of touch with reality. Everyone else concluded that stuff like Uunat or KJ were far too overtuned and unfun in the end. While Sanctum had a weird curve with Painsmith beeing harder than Guardian/KT the overall tuning was fine in SoD Mythic. Actually it was so good that they didn't even had to tune the bosses for months, unlike older tiers.

Anything Dratnos say Blizzard should listen to, heck they should even hire him.

Comment by Momoi

for top 10 guilds content cant be hard enough
if you ask me i would favor a nerf for bosses you already killed for a faster reclear because you lose alot time reclearing, something like
If 80% of your Raid has killed this boss once the boss and his adds gets a debuff where it deals less dmg has less health and receives more dmg up to 20%
this wouldnt hurt anyone you earned the kill = next times its easier so you can use more time for progress

#5 is missing, similar to Shadowlands plot.

SoD is one of the worst raid tiers ever, that's just universally agreed by both heroic guilds and mythic guilds and the main reason for that was the difficulty of the bosses which was low on the last couple of bosses (which are also the most important bosses). The reason why they didn't have to tune the raid is because they didn't test dom shards on ptr so those things heavily nerfed the raid by themselves. It's fine for raids to be easier from week to week as you get more gear but dom shards completely broke the balancing and made SoD a joke and one of the worst tiers. We don't need every raid to be filled with bosses like KJ but we also don't need a repeat of SoD. Also not every guild needs to clear the whole raid.

Comment by gm4life4

honestly SoD wasnt even that hard so idk why people in the comments are complaining about it, if you want an easy to prog mythic difficulty raid then you really shouldnt be raiding in the first place. majority of raids have difficult middle number bosses then the ones after are easier like ra'den from ny'alotha and council from CN, its to stop and separate the good guilds from the bad instead of having 100 8/10 guilds when in reality they are way farther behind and cant compete but comments like these is literally whats wrong with wow, raids get nerfed after world first, thats how it is and if your guild still cant get CE then get a new guild, no one who actually spends time in this game wants stuff handed to them, a challenge for the good cosmetics and titles/achievements are what make the game good. that being said though i do believe there should be good cosmetics in other content to counter the difficulty of getting the raid's cosmetics and gear/mounts but still earned rather than putting 1000 hours and not getting the "good stuff" because you as a player are physically and mentally unable to just get good, like a wise man once said "its a skill issue"

#5 is less grinding to do in Zereth Mortis, unlike the Maw and Korthia. A welcome change.

After wading through the lack of proper capitalization, sentence structure, and punctuation in your post, I'm assuming the gist of what you're saying that if a player can't "git gud" they should never raid at all?

I respectfully disagree with that point of view, and perhaps that's not what you were trying to say. The game is structured to support multiple raid skill levels, so that newbie players can still have fun and feel as if they've accomplished something, while very skilled players enjoy the challenge of mythic raid content tuned to make it fun for them to play too. If you found mythic SoD easy, good for you! May mythic Sepulcher of the First Ones be more challengingly fun for you.

...if you want an easy to prog mythic difficulty raid...

What I believe you're referring to is players who want an easy raid because they don't want to put in the hours of practice/gameplay to achieve mythic raid gear/titles. That's the equivalent of handing stuff to a player, which would be boring. I do agree with you that people don't want stuff just handed to them. A big part of the fun of this game is earning whatever you get, at whatever skill level you're at.

...if your guild still cant get CE then get a new guild...

Your implication is that a guild who doesn't get CE is a fail guild. That's incorrect. Even guilds who try for CE and don't achieve it aren't necessarily failures. Some try it for kicks and giggles to see if they can achieve it. If they don't, they don't lose sleep over it. It isn't their primary reason for existence.

Keep in mind that not everyone wants Cutting Edge. I personally am a heroic-level raider. I don't have the time (nor the desire) to put in the hours necessary to achieve CE. It's just not that important to me. That doesn't make me a bad raider, just someone who plays the game the way they want to play it and is content with whatever gear/titles/achievements they choose to earn.

If you choose to think the reason I don't want Cutting Edge is because I can't earn it, well you're welcome to think so but I know the truth of the matter in my own gameplay.

Peace.

9.2 will be absolute trash with some tiny QoL changes WOWEY. The raid will be cool for two weeks max. Why waste your time running on Blizzes treadmill so you can be useful for CE? Nobody cares literally. I mean if you play PvP or M+ solely fair I guess, if you really enjoy doing the exact same thing 1000x every expansion, but bruh the gearing systems are absolutely atrocious in this game. Outside of your boring daily / weekly grind there is like two cool things an expansion they add, MAYBE, that are legitimately unique and fun and rewarding, IF THAT. Stop asking for "harder raids" because nobody gives a f*** how hard a raid is, except for WF raiders, if it's boring as f***, with a terrible storyline, and the way you gear up to get into it is like peeling your toenails off over the course of two months. I hope WoWhead censors my comments like they do their entire website just so people have some semblance that the game is in an okay state.

Tarc, you beat me to it, I was going to ask the same thing of that poster and their comment.

I mean, everyone is entitled to their own opinion of the state of the game (and no I don't think it's all sunshine and roses), BUT if someone is at the level of disgust/dislike that the quoted poster apparently is, I have to ask... why are they even bothering to PLAY a game that they apparently think is that big a steaming pile of trash? Masochism?

I HOPE 9.2 is good. Or at least better than what is live currently. I've been on the PTR a bit, but not enough to form a legitimate opinion. I will be wading in on Tuesday and beyond to see what is actually "live" and how it plays. It's up to Blizz to demonstrate that have/have not actually listened to players and are moving in a direction that will make a bigger chunk of their playerbase happy.

I honestly hope they do.

I left a year ago because m+ gearing was horrid and that's all I'm interested in. I take a look at the patch, but I see not a single thing that helps this problem. The vault needs to reward up to 3 pieces - i'm not pushing m+ just for roll tokens. That's BS.

Yeah, doing 10 dungeons should give the same amount of loot as doing 15 mythic raid bosses on average, on top of the heroic loot those runs already give. Then stop playing after 3 weeks cause you cant get upgrades anymore (since all you care about seems to be quantity of upgrades).

I don't give any care about raiding, I don't raid anymore. If you don't get enough loot there, then don't play. Don't try to make the game less fun for others because of silly raid "reasons." In fact, that's exactly what is wrong with this game - raid-focus is seriously holding WoW back from greatness and they need to get over it.

As for what's wrong with the model: i do 1 M+ i get a reward; I do 20 and I get... a reward. Doesn't make sense, so I moved on to more fun games. WoW today has lost a lot in nearly every xpac since MoP, and that's just sad. Just put in a currency system, then skill-gate stuff at diff M+ levels ... whatever... as long as it is something we can earn and that rewards spending more time in the game.

Comment by Vespasiano

People seem to forget how M+ rewards were on Legion, that was a beautiful system that really rewarded your effort and time spent.

It was pretty obvious that this whole comment was made by someone delusional that hides behind the „I play less but could get CE if I played more“ lie. For reference I personally achieved 5 Horde Hall of Fame Titles in a 2 days a week guild and I would bet that your Heroic endeavors took you more time than it took me to clear Mythic in 5-6 weeks after release and then switch into 1 day reclear hiatus and occasional altraids and sellruns.
Furthermore my guild has a 1 day a week sideraid for retired main-raiders and ambitious community members and even they get a top 1000 CE placement every Tier with the minimum amount of time and effort. The only difference between you and them is skill and not time invested !
