Jailer's Gauntlet RewardsChanges

The battle pet reward Lightless Tormentor has been moved from Layer 2 to Layer 1.

The toy Dominated Hearthstone is listed as both a reward for Layer 2 and Layer 4, which is obviously an error. Likely this is a reward for Layer 2.

The title for Jailer's Gauntlet, , has been moved from Layer 6 to Layer 3.

Removed

Colossal Ebonclaw Mawrat for the Sturdy Soulsteel Mawrat Harness has been removed as a Layer 8 reward.

ideally this means they're adding rewards to every layer?

Comment by Lykaios

Making Jailer's Gauntlet worst, good movement, Blizzard...

Let's hope they're doing this mode more compensative in a way the mode will be difficult and the reward
will not be free reward for all, making it more exclusive for striving players

Comment by Melkk

Yeah cos rewards being accessible to more players is making the game worse somehow lol

It's people like yourself that Wildstar was aimed at, look what happened there..

What's going on with vengeance demon hunter? It's been a month since an immediately noticeable broken tier set was announced. Possibilities have been hinted at, but there hasn't been any official notes on the rework to the 4 set.

My god ... this is PTR and clearly still in development. Why the heck are people like you instantly crying over everything?

Comment by Ledaren

Seems pretty obvious they're just cutting the amount of levels in half?

I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees it. The whole "you only get a reward every other layer" concept from Twisted Corridors was obviously a mistake and I think they finally see that.

So now we only have to do this 4 times and we can get all the rewards. Layer 4 is probably as hard as Layer 8 was before.

Either that, or they are going to add more rewards. In my mind that would be even better, but I think either way this should be seen as a good thing.

I ran through the Gauntlet, it seems that the pet is the reward for Layer 1, Toy for 2, Title for 3 and Mount for 4. The rest just have Ash and Cinders as rewards, most likely as placeholders.

MT having a higher difficulty curve was perfect. It actually made the rewards meaningful. There are people in Oribos wearing xmogs that other people were not skilled enough to get. This contributes to the award exclusivity and longevity.

So I don't know wtf your post is talking about. I wasn't able to complete the holy priest MT and that's my only healer so I missed the book mount by 1. Guess what? I should've played better if i wanted it.
A reward that takes away from the enjoyment of many to reward a few may seem to you like something you deserve. But it is a net negative for the game, since people who want to do brutally hard content are actually not large enough in numbers to support a game this size. Hence, the wildstar reference.

And whining about people crying makes you look like a bad example.

Disagree.

Not all content is made to be done at any point in time ; with Mage tower being the *perfect* example. With enough skill, you could get it done day 1, as many did.
OR, you could have waited until you had endgame gear, and then outgeared it with Antorus gear - no nerfs needed. I literally was able to get Mage tower skins on alts I didnt pay using LFR Antorus gear.

Im not sure why the side of "nerfing it into accessibility" is always so much louder than the alternatives. There is plenty of options and middle grounds, that don't involve crushing somethings base difficulty into the ground, under the premise of "gatekeeping", or "pandering to a higher skilled audience."

I really think your phrase "net negative for a game" is really telling. I know more people who have at least one mage tower skin, than people who dont have zero - and I believe *optional* challenges that push you to optimize yourself is a net *positive.*(##RESPBREAK##)272##DELIM##Uchur##DELIM##

I agree with you. For me personally, this kind of content is what makes me come back to the game. I hope there won’t be a way to outgear the mage tower this time, and that they won’t nerf it.

I consider myself an average+ player. I don’t raid mythic, and I don’t play multiple classes consistently, but I did manage to get the mount. If I can, then so can loads of people. Doing it felt like a big achievement, it made me a better player, and it was the most fun I’ve had in the game this expansion.

Yeah, that's not why Wildstar died.

Comment by Nymrohd

What if it gave gear like Visions did?

What if it gave gear like Visions did?

Just what it had to be from the beginning.
Miss visions so much because of it. Having a family/kid+full-time work makes your playing timetables inconceivable. So I likely won't play with anybody I played before I added to friends/btag. Then solo content makes sense.

Yeah cause getting the reward instantly with little effort is so much fun, worth that 15 dollars a month for a few hours of gameplay at the most! /s.
We have a game thats deffinetly not hardcore, people love, that has a tower in which torghast is trying to be that is hard to fully complete came out in 2016 people still do it in 2022 for cosmetics etc.
How many here are going to do and enjoy torghast 6 1/2 years from now let alone do them more than a month total at the most after these refreshes?
Most of SL features are borrowed from that game, people still like and do the content years later and the game is flourishing, yet most of these ideas have failed in wow. Must be cause its to hard and totally not cause Blizzards implementation of it is boring and has no lasting appeal yeah? -_-

Comment by Grothrill

Wont be surprised to see the mawrat mount in the store. Greedy as they are. And could they please put som BOE epic items, mounts, toys, weapons, armor sets to farm. All the things that would make Torghast more appealing and worth the time spent on running it. Now its just time consuming and not worth it and an game interest killer.

Comment by larokos

The main problem is, why do so many people care that others can get stuff, that they want, and have fun playing the game, without beating themselves up? It's the same people that back in the day when you could get "welfare" gear that started the super toxic wow community that we have today. If a feature is released in-game, it should be accessible and able to be completed by any level of skill-based. They should have features that do scale and add difficulty like mythic raids. Better rewards for more effort, yes, but making something so hard that people get discouraged and then quit the game because they are so frustrated is dumb.

Comment by Segano

Please at least wait until all of the changes are out and confirmed before opening the tear faucet. Thank you.

The lower layers are accessible.
