New Patch 9.1 Cinematic - Battle for Ardenweald Featuring Sylvanas and Tyrande

Posted 2021/06/29 at 4:16 PM by perculia

In the Chapter 1 - Battle for Ardenweald, you are summoned to Oribos to learn the dire news that Anduin has become The Jailer's pawn, and that he recently wounded Kyrestia the Firstborne and took her sigil of Bastion. Each of the Eternal Ones possesses a sigil that represents their Covenant and its purpose, but which can also act as keys to forbidden knowledge. The Jailer is after these sigils, and launches an assault on Ardenweald and Oribos in an attempt to gain the sigils belonging to the Winter Queen and The Arbiter. While the Ebon Blade protects Oribos, the player rushes to join in Ardenweald's defense against and assault lead by Sylvanas Windrunner herself. Though you do your best to defend Ardenweald, Anduin manages to get away with the Winter Queen's sigil. You return to Oribos with the news, to find the city has also just dealt with a Mawsworn assault.

I actually loved this cinematic! I've waited so long for a confrontation of both characters!

Comment by Leviatham

ok, that was cool

1. And of course they had to nerf Tyrande. Can't have her return to her senses while keeping her power.

2. WHY THE !@#$ DID SHE TRY TO CHOKE OUT AN UNDEAD! Pretty sure Sylvanas doesn't BREATHE, So it was !@#$ing pointless.

Elune why you blue balling

Comment by Zigrifid

why did elune abandoned her?

Comment by Oryyn

I honestly hope Sylvanus wins it all - but I doubt it.

Comment by KazeEspada

Lame. Tyrande's power fails her when she's got Sylvie on the ropes.
gags
Literally garbage tier trope.

Nice cinematic though. The animators and effects team did a good job.

Comment by Michcioo

why did elune abandoned her?

You will find that in the next expansion! ;)

Comment by duranox

So Sylvanas plot armor reigns supreme then.

Comment by snazzyshanyn

Sylvanas didn't know about Nathanos? Ah yes it makes the cut so much deeper. This was an amazing cinematic

Nice

Tyrand using Demon Hunter warglaives, and Using The Hunt
so maybe Tyrand is a Night fae demon hunter?

Comment by sneaksies

this was absolutely amazing, loved this cinematic so much. nice to see sylvanas actually have a good fight and not steamroll but i suspect people will still complain she survived this encounter with tyrande even though sylvanas actually looked outclassed most of the time and barely got away.

Come on, Tyrande deserves CGI cinematic and her victory over that Banshee!

I guess Elune is connected to the Light and living world, hence why she cannot support Tyrande that much...

Edit: Still was a cool cinematic :)

Pretty sure Tyrande was trying to rip Sylvanas' head off, not choke her.

Comment by EmeraldBlue

Seriously, what the hell was that?
Why?

This feels like a bone thrown at Night Elf players, but not having the balls to actually do it right.

"So now you see, Tyrande is as powerful as Slvanas, now shut up, until we need to burn down another tree."

And I'm a HORDE player who says that!

Really getting tired of the various "ENOUGH!" moments within the last 2 expansions.. that is just $%^&ty writing.

Blizzard Logic: Let's choke the life out of an undead.

Comment by j0ester

Pretty sure Tyrande is younger than Illidan.. and can fight better with Glaives than him.

Comment by vultraz

Before jumping Tyrande said "My life for hers" (in the subtitles), so I guess Elune didn't want her to die and let Sylvanas escape to let Tyrande live. Or Elune's power can be limited, as Sylvanas's words may imply

AWESOME cinematic! Absolutely LOVED seeing Tyrande finally dishing out some PAYBACK! As always though.. Sylvanas runs away! lol...

Comment by Karigal

Reminder that this is the longest out of the three encrypted cinematics for 9.1, and all it led to was yet another glorified "Enough!", as if the ending of SoD won't do the same considering they keep referring to Sylvanas as if she's not going to bite it once and for all
