They were Alliance because they were going to abuse dwarves bleed remove racial in castle nathria lol.

Also would be pretty demoralising not winning anything since Emerald Nightmare.

That applies to every professional athlete.

Why play basketball like a job in the NBA? Just retire!

I think professional gamers still don't get the respect they deserve. It's funny how people respect Ph.D.'s and experts for their mental capabilities, and look down on physical laborers. But once it gets to the professional level, it's the physical capabilities that get all the respect, and mental capabilities are looked down upon. It's not really about mental vs physical kind of thing, it's really just ENTERTAINMENT.

There are other sports that require far more dedication than, let's say Football. But Football is THE MOST popular sports in the world.

There are several streamer that do raid for fun and do community run, and they kinda profit from it. Because it's an ENTERTAINMENT more than show of skills.

Hmmm, I think trying to even lump actual sports against competitive gaming is difficult. I am not a fan of the competitive gaming world, never really will pick it up, just have no desire to watch folks play games that I can play myself. I don't frown on folks that do enjoy it and pay into it but I will say most sports or activity at a competitive level requires a lot of mental capability as most competitions of physical sports require strategy to beat the opponent. The only thing I think that is frowned upon the Gaming side of the house is the lack of exercise, horrible diets (personal choice) and the time spent sitting for 5 days a week and lets not forget that if you aren't training like those League folks, you are streaming to increase revenue streams. Its hard for me to get behind that, just will...

To relate generally to Exorsus ending its run...it sucks and like with Method being dissolved and Complexity-Limit being owned by Jerry Jones, where their budget is higher than these self sustaining and endorsed guilds it is going to be really difficult for anyone to topple them. I think some folks see the writing on the wall...that Mythic WF runs are going to be one-sided...I bet 50,000 gold that C-L will be Sanctum of Domination WF...now if the guilds did drafts and %^&* on the off season like most sports...that would be interesting to see folks move around.

This is big part of the problem why Race To World First became very boring in my opinion.
You have those very few big guilds that actually can play on that level because they have the money and the time and not because they are better at gaming. It is not really a race between idk 20, 50 or 100 guilds it is a race between few paid giants, this is not a fair business.

Exactly...and it creates an unfair advantage towards other guilds, lets not also forget that if many folks had the time or ability to dedicate that much effort it would be interesting how things pan out.

Playing the game, killing mythic bosses, etc. can stay like that for years.

But competitive world 1st isn't forever. It's a huge commitment that takes it toll as time goes on. Just remember that they had to abbandon everything at last christmas / new year because Blizzard decided to rush the mythic raid at that moment.

Unfair advantages (money wise) and cumulative advantages are pretty common in other sports as well. Just have a look at European Football (big leagues and league winning teams make more money and keep their spot on top generally speaking). The problem in WoW really seems to be that the time investment in those Race To World First Events is massive and semi-professionals can't commit to it. Thereby it seems a natural thing you only have very few guilds and players really competing for it.

I think you would need massive regulations to make it a fair competition and Blizzard does not seem interested in providing those together with certain tools (tournament realm or global release of raids is a pretty important factor too in my opinion).

NO, after all we have endured. It must not end this way!

I hope they keep up their videos regardless, they were always some of the best to watch.

Yes/No, a team can spend a crap ton of money to stack their team but there are generally a lot more variables than just paying for more internet speed, top of the line equipment. Look at the Cleveland Browns, they have a stacked team but still can't really cut it to the playoffs. There are also money caps which the team has to manage as a business. Jerry Jones (owner of the Dallas Cowboys) owns likely spends a lot of money on Complexity-Limit. I mean even the Canucks and Philadelphia Flyers own a stake in the Overwatch League.

Honestly, Blizzard's management and the ability to launch a game isn't necessarily dependent on their raid tier schedules, things were delayed because complications or things that needed some finalization. Mythic World First run isn't a Blizzard endorsed event all the events are third-party promoted and ran. They have scheduling deadlines and dates they needed. Besides, their core population of raiders (general money makers) were not at all that much affected by their Raid Tier release times/dates.
