This is just boosting with extra steps.

As long as he doesn't carry him to glad, I'm perfectly fine and happy with it.

Is it though? Boosting implies getting paid, in some form, to up the pvp rating. Just helping someone up their rating is called a carry. Very different. I wouldn't consider carries bad. Would you?

ffs... R O G U E.

It's not that damn hard.

Awesome, I appreciate those who are willing to lend a helping hand to those trying to learn. Good on Doug for not giving up!

Comment by Brewtank

I love Doug’s passion for the game and wanting to queue and trying to get better. I however feel very bad for him that he cannot at least be on anywhere near to a level playing field when he is 200ilvl vs people 220+. Definitely sucks if you are less experienced and undergeared. Where if you have more experience you can make the gear work somewhat. Either way. Love to see this type of energy!

This is actually a big problem in the pvp community, streamers carrying people. In this rating, you shouldn't be seeing ppl with over 40k health, but that's almost always what you see, so someone who is just starting out can get stomped by a gladiator, and a newbie. If you combine this with boosting, it's demoralizing, and can keep a new player from doing pvp since they don't know what's going on.

Comment by Chaxton

The streamer was extremely boring to watch and listen to. Face cams are a mistake in gaming, always were. However, despite these flaws, dude was a good guy to help a struggling player. It may have been out of good will, or it may just have been for the views, but he went out of his way for absolutely no reason, and it paid off for the guy that was being helped. Genuinely good people do exist, but sadly in far too few numbers.

Also, that rouge typo always makes me smile. If only for a day, I'd love to see rogues have rouge-colored nameplates and minimap dots.

I mean if he did you’d be upset? I don’t understand why.

Coaching is boosting and is considered cheating.

So every athlete is a cheater. Got it.

Boosting != boosting as a service. One is done without pay. Nowhere does it say you can only get boosted if you pay lol.

Boosting without pay is called "carrying", like a mother carrying a kid without pay.

Boosting involves money.

Comment by Cetlysm

It's basically the same as those groups you see on LFG providing "free" carry services, (as long as you give me views and follow my Twitch, and also sub for extra chances of winning your FREE carry), except this one just ends up screwing the legit players trying to climb the rating ladder by having more gladiators with 227 ilvl in the low brackets, and now he gets his own wowhead article, better than boosting for gold, he's boosting for views.
The irony is this is the type of behavior that ends up hurting players like the rogue the most, when he's alone and without a boost fighting against boosters in 227ilvl.

I WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO DOUG !

Comment by WoWDontu

Lot of salty people. Elliot (Venruki) Legitimately wanted to help someone get better at the game and you guys are &*!@ting on him for it. You are not hardstuck at 1400 because of Doug. Get over yourselves. And if Doug loves the game, who are you to tell him he should consider quitting pvp. Jesus

Comment by kv83

"Stay in stealth" is not really making him a better player though.

Comment by RandomShell

I get the feeling that guy really likes saying Diggidydoug a lot.
