Activision Blizzard's Fourth Quarter Resultsnew mobile titles

"In terms of Blizzard's approach to mobile gaming, many of us over the last few years have shifted from playing primarily desktop to playing many hours on mobile, and we have many of our best developers now working on new mobile titles across all of our IPs. Some of them are with external partners, like Diablo: Immortal; many of them are being developed internally only, and we'll have information to share on those in the future. I will say also that we have more new products in development today at Blizzard than we've ever had in our history and our future is very bright."

1) The second quote seems like proof that Blizzard employees are subconsciously designing the PC games they make (WoW, Diablo) like the mobile games they actually play. Mission tables and in-game store (to name a few) are all results of this. Nobody who seriously plays WoW wants/enjoys these features. If the developers were serious players in their own games, we wouldn't have so many problems.

2) The first quote confirms that in the long term, Blizzard is pivoting from a PC game focus to a mobile game focus. They know if they pursue mobile over PC gaming, they loose their PC audience (remember Blizzcon 2018 anyone?). They also know that mobile gaming is more lucrative, because of whales and increased player base (i.e. more whales). They are slowly and consciously abandoning their loyal fans, customers who built their company, for a handful of whales they can manipulate in mobile titles.

I read this post, I can grasp that multiple teams exist in a company, and that a team that is not working on the PC games I play has been working to create new games on a different platform. I understand that there are different audiences that might like to engage with the same franchises, at different points of their lives. I do not get the urge to yell that the company is going down since the teams that have been making the PC games I love are still going about their businesses. I am excited to hear that more games are being made.

You remember WoW never existed and it was a RTS. But you have no problems being happy that they made an MMO out of it. Who is to say you won’t like the new Mobile game they make as well? If you don’t then simply don’t play it. If you get a mount or pet from it and you 100%, absolutely must have that mount or pet then get it and stop playing the game.....you don’t have to like everything and you don’t have to hate it either but this instant “I will never accept this in my life” attitude is a bit too far. Calm down and step back a little and let a company do what it wants. Tell me...where they will get developers and new team ? Will they hire more?

I think this is hardly the case because they are such greedy company that developers leaving everyday even now after quite succesful start with Shadowlands. . They don't even have enough developers for pc games ....that was reason for this fail with Heroes of the Storm and why they totally failed with Reforged. Or even lack of some features in wow. They don't even have people who in past made beautiful textures and they must hire different company to do models for them. (like was in reforged and now in diablo.) These textures are totally different ad ugly for Blizzard standard.

If you trust that this mobile thing will not affect you.... it will. Not now. Not in next year. But if they get success with mobile industry. They get more money from mobile industry and they will just start focus on this one thing Activision focus always.

Money.

They also know that PC games are bad for milk money. You can profit on them. Yes. There are mmo games that can survive and make updates even without so much milking...and for free. But..this is Activision. They want maximum profit and they don't care about people at all.

This mobile industry will kill pc industry in Blizzard because all these sheeps will buy their mobile games. . Only question is how long it needs.
