BFA MM implementation has been horrible and SL changes so far didn't make it any better.Suggestions:- Remove Rapid Fire- Remove charges from Aimed Shot and make it castable on the moveMoP, WoD and Legion MM versions were much better.
Blizzard killed this spec in BFA. I was able to be "ok" in PvE while still being super focused on the rotation because it's clearly a lot more harder because of the 3 target AOE buff. But PvP-wise, it was an absolute nightmare during BFA. Sure you can do super burst DMG from distant in RBG and Randoms BG, but from a pure 1v1 perspective, it is easily one of the squishiest spec of the game.I won't say I'm a hardcore player or even good. And I know that last season of arena is a bit biaised because of corruptions and overly-powered specs, but MM was truly unplayable above 2k3. They should be bringing back the aspects for the Hunters. That was one of the main thing I liked.Being able to cast AS while moving with the Fox Aspect was really good.I overall agree with everything listed above, except for Rapid Fire. I don't see the class-fantasy to be honest, and Blizzard really shove it down our throat making it a must-use ability. It just feels poor and boring for me. MOP and WOD were good times for MM. Even Legion was really enjoyable, but BFA really sealed MM fate.I hope that they'll bring some change to this, AOE-wise in PvE and Survavibility & Sustain in PvP.

Let’s go through this from the top, with just a few of the things that are incorrect/missing but relevant when talking state of the spec. There are also some rather bold statements, that can/will probably be disproved by simming - as we're already seen some of them dispute what you're saying now.Hunter’s Mark is not a half GCD as you say it is. It’s a 1s hasted GCD. Chimaera Shot is extremely strong for Single-Target considering both shots can currently hit on the same target. The talent seems less strong when that isn’t mentioned, be it intentional or not. Dead Eye being “bugged” in the same way Trueshot has been for a very long time and providing more cooldown recharge rate than advertised should probably have been mentioned. Double Tap doesn’t provide an additional Aimed Shot that works as if affected by Trick Shots anymore, so would it still provide additional arcane shots on 1-2 targets without Volley? No mention of Death Chakrams bouncing on corpses making it much worse in AOE?Wild Spirits doesn’t “seem” to have an ICD, it has an ICD. Added to that, the wording indicates things like DoTs wouldn’t work on every tick, so expecting Serpent Sting to work off ticks for example seems unrealistic. Brutal Projectiles cap of 20 max stacks of the buff (during cast) not mentioned? Potentially missing out on 4 additional buffs with Streamline / DT – more anti-synergy in the kit.
Hunter's Mark ruins the fun for me
just make aimed shot instant already blizzard... please.because i can tell you right now.... marks with a proper raid setup is going to be an actual AIMED SHOT TURRET... which is NOT good. aimed shot can currently come back up faster than we can generate focus to spend on it.just get rid of the idea that we're a "caster"... hunters are not casters... if we were casters... we wouldn't be the squishiest spec in the game.
Yet another week of "Changes are nice, spec still needs a lot of work." It's really a shame for how exciting SL seems, that it's going to be yet another expansion with some specs begging for their issues to be adressed. And I just can't see how they can make SPriest sized changes to every spec with issues in time before release. Would probably need something like a December release at this point.
Eagletalon's True Focus - This legendary seems good on the surface but in reality its a pretty awful legendary for Marksmanship Hunters.I agree with most things besides this, combining Flayed shot Venthyr covenant ability + Dead eye talent and this legendary gives you the potential ability to cast 3+ Aimed shots in a row without needing extra focus which can be more depending on the procs. With just one proc you can cast 2 aimed shots right after trueshot has started, pop killshot and continue doing the same. I would agree if the procrate was low or if the talent Surging shots didn't exist, but the former isn't true, I've experienced a good amount of procs consistently and Surging shots gives you a lot more Trueshot uptime.
The only problem with these kinds of "state of...." contents are this: "I'm Moofz. I main Hunter and do both Mythic+ and raiding at a high level."Where is the PvP perspective? Which is also non-existent in BfA.
An eternal problem with MM is there are very strong opinions on different play-styles it has has had. Settling on how Aimed should work defines the spec.Personally, I don't want Aimed Shot to be instant nor castable while moving. I enjoy hunkering down to line up aimed shots that hit brutally hard like a sniper. That's what MM is to me.I used to say Survival would be the best ranged while moving spec but we all know how that turned out. Despite Beast Masters being Melee units in WC3.I'm not sure who designs Hunters at BlizzHQ but I feel like it's someone new every XPac and they are given only half the design documents from the last designer.
Really not vibing with the Revive Pet cast time increase. It's pretty much gonna force MM to go Lone Wolf in PvP which is going to put a hit on their utility. It also adds unnecessary downtime if you had a rough pull in PvE and your pet went down while questing, rep grinding, or if you were trying to save a wipe. Sure, another 4 seconds doesn't seem like a big deal, but that adds up over time.
Back when they announced the "unpruning" at Blizzcon, and they showed that hunter's mark would be baseline again, my knee-jerk thought was "No, I don't want it".My opinion hasn't changed. It just clutters actionbars for nothing and is not worth a GCD. Classic can keep it. I've been happily re-adapting to everytime MM has changed through the expansions, (my favorite version was Legion's) but I am really not looking forward to playing around this old version of hunter's mark. It's just outdated.
Stop touching my man (c) All hunters specs were on the last place in 3vs3 ladder for 6 damn years. MM are especially dead. What can Blizzard do? Return silence shoot, and make all the skills MM have castable on the moove. Or better return MM from cata times.
Hunter's mark is a relic of the past. Leave it be there and on Classic servers. It gives NOTHING to the sec. It is not interactive, annoying to use and gives marginal benefit. Also the fact that we still do not have any way to do damage in 2 target scenario is sily. During Legion I was initially very unhappy with the MM vunerable window gameplay. But right now I would take it over this. It annoys me to no end that only BM is the only playable hunter spec. I want to play something else other than BM I do not really like BM.
Hunter's Mark would be WAY less annoying if off GCD. It's a very unique and iconic Hunter ability, but on other hand is just annoying to use. Also, someone mentioned exotic beasts for MM. I partly agree, but not about using exotic beasts as Non-BM but about simply making exotic family smaller. I can see weird magical stuff like Spirit Beasts, Core Hounds, Shale Beasts or Chimeras and Aqir being exotic, but Clefthooves, Devilsaurs, Krolusks, Pterrodraxes, Water Striders and Worms just... Shouldn't be there. They don't seem exotic (well, for azeroth at least). And with that some families could become exotic, Warp Stalkers are very unique for example. Besides, even if nothing changes, the only absolutley irreplaceable families are Clefthooves (tanky af) and Spirit Beasts (Purge + Heal). Bats and Rays offer the Purge, and other Ferocity pets will probably be as tanky as the clefthooves. So no reason to make exotic beasts for MM and Survival.
