They.. are.. LISTENING!
As someone who hated the idea of yet another "timed" content, I quite love this change. Those who are so good, or so strong that they can fight through a level/boss quickly, get extra rewarded for it.Those who need a bit more time, or do not YET fully manage it at the right speed, get the standard loot.
inb4 people complain that adding rewards for finishing faster means they are mentally forced to rush it.
I'm thankful they decided to use a carrot to chase rather than a stick to beat us with. They're definitely listening.
Awesome, this is the correct route, reward the good gameplay, let's people play the way they want.
I was fine with the previous version but this seems to be even better.
I cant believe they are listening!
Idk, we already know too well that some players will do whatever they can to be ahead of others, be it waiting for CDs or rushing the run. But maybe those extra rewards won't give any competitve advantage, maybe extra crafting reagents, stuff for covenants, higher chances of getting cosmetics or whatever.
Mixed feelings on bonus loot for speed clear, wanted to move away from GOGOGO mentality but I'm glad they are removing penalty timers.
So an incentive to rush instead of taking your time. Great.
Very nice to see this update. Enemies getting stronger feels much better than my chracter getting weaker. I can now take my time or even a break unless the spawning torments are still a thing... let's hope not.
If you get more rewards for a fast completion, what separates this from a M+? Isnt that what they wanted to avoid?
Great, amazing, fantastic, incredible, I can’t believe my eyes blizzard are actually listening. Shadowlands has the potential to be one of the greatest expansions they have ever made.
Bonus loot for clearing quickly? Increased difficulty every minute? I thought the whole idea was that timing was irrelevant and we could take our time? Wtf?They announced they wanted us to be able to take our time. We said we liked it. Now they're moving in the opposite direction. Why?
Good, let them experiment with this now - that's the point of Alpha! If they have to tear it down and build it back up several times to find the best solution, I'm fine with that. But I'm not sure what this latest iteration accomplishes. If I'm reading it correctly, (higher) Torghast floors are now like Mythic Keystone levels, with increased damage/health for enemies persisting for the rest of the run. Given that our power is supposed to increase wildly when we reach these floors, it makes sense to at least attempt to keep things challenging. However, there should be some inherent scaling of health and damage as you ascend anyways. I'll have to see how the spawning Torments work.Basically, they could more aggressively scale the health and damage increase per floor or segment and remove Torments. I do like the incentive of bonus loot for clearing a floor quickly. Of course, some people will feel compelled even by this incentive, but as long as the bonus is not too large, I doubt most players will be too pressured. I certainly hope it's less than the 100% suggested by the placeholder loot now. And the timer can be quite generous, tuned to only disincentivize the extreme tactic of waiting for long cooldowns before each pull.
I would MUCH rather be rewarded for playing quickly instead of punished for playing slowly. This is an excellent change.
This could definitely be a good solution. Incentives you to rush on weekly runs so you can maximize rewards. But you can take your time on the mode that doesn't require a key, since that wouldn't award you any materials anyway. At least that's assuming the "for fun" mode doesn't drop some kind of currency to farm for cosmetics.
I definitely prefer a bonus for finishing quickly to a penalty for taking too long. It's still basically having a timer of sorts, but this iteration is much friendlier IMO.
