Legion Raids and Dungeons

Legacy loot rules are now in place for Legion raids and dungeons.

Developers’ note: Standard encounters drop an amount of loot scaled by the amount of players in the raid, which results in fewer pieces for players who defeated encounters in small groups or as a solo player. In Legacy loot rules, raid and dungeon encounters will drop a fixed quantity of class-agnostic loot, regardless of the group size.

Looks like tier pieces drop as they do on personal loot rather than tier tokens from the master loot days. This means it's a bit harder to get a given tier set's appearances than it would be for other legacy content. Hopefully this will get changed, but who knows.

Comment by TwistedMetal

Uh no that won't change as we never had tier tokens in legion

Like I said, for MASTER LOOTER, there were tier tokens instead of the straight tier pieces dropped (ie: Chest of the Antoran Protector). Now that there is no master looter in BfA, they'd have to manually change it to drop the tier tokens instead of the tier pieces.

Does the tier piece thing really matter though?

I thought most if not all tier set pieces share appearance with at least 1 other regular drop?

And sanguine weeks are the worst there, God I wiped a few times not knowing from where the ^&*! storm came.

Comment by glassleo

It has been the same for WoD raids ever since legacy loot was implemented, I doubt it will change.

I'm just happy we get more than 0-1 items per boss now!

Comment by yuriken

Wish they'd fix Antoran High Council on LFR tho - can't even access them let alone fight.

1st April hotfixes we deserve.))

We need the need/greed option for the legion raids, as it is now its essentially personal loot except people are getting random pieces of loot instead of for their class, and not paying attention, so group runs is a mess of people just getting loot others need but not paying attention to chat when people try to get them to offer it up for /rolls so group runs are getting less loot in this system because people pretend this game is single player

Comment by qaccy

Like it or not, all of the old loot systems are gone and not coming back. Better to figure out how to make it work for you than try to bring back antiquated systems that have their own flaws, like people rolling need just because they want the item to vendor/disenchant.

Just solo it?

Just solo it?

That would be the easiest option, and the one that would make sure they got anything the could use from that run.

When you solo mythic KJ in TOS, you let me know.

Comment by Gruffertus

I can confirm this doesn't do anything for 110 players without BfA soloing WoD raids.

This just looks like a change, not like an improvement. I just did antorus with 20 people. I got a priest cloak, mail boots and a mage chest, rolled twice and received currency both times.
I gave the boots to the shaman in the raid, the rest didnt want it. I got a belt from a fellow demonhunter. A priest traded a leather item to the same demonhunter.

But overall Im disappointed in this change. I had the expectation that if anyone receives an item, it will be for his/her class, not a random item for any class. I mean this legacy loot system doesnt make sense in a full raid compared to a full 120 raid.

It was just hot air, giving people false hope.

Comment by EmperorsFinest

Are raids also easier now, are they soloable on mythic?

There are sets that are missing lookalike pieces. T20 DK lookalike is only complete on normal mode. But yeah a lot of pieces have lookalikes.

Comment by thorr69

No. This is just your inexperience farming old raids with Legacy loot mode showing. This works exactly like every other old raid. It's not false hope or hot air; it's how it works for everything.

Comment by Karille

It's going from sometimes only getting like 4 or so pieces of loot at all from a raid that might just be a duplicate from past runs to getting guaranteed loot drops from every single boss. While it does open up to loot from other classes, I feel like the quantity of guaranteed loot that can drop outpaces the very real chance that most of the bosses in the raid giving 0 loot at all.
