+75 corruption would be an instant cleanse no matter the benefit. I don't understand why they'd put such a high corruption value; there's no choice there. Maybe it'll be a choice for players only near the end of the expansion? For the first few months, they'd be instantly cleansed with no thought.

Using one of the new essences in any slot (-10 corruption) and the legendary cloak everyone will get from the questline and upgrade in Horrific Visions, a 75 corruption effect won't need to be cleansed necessarily. Even a level 5 cloak, after just 5 Horrific Visions clears, gives -20 corruption, so with a new essence your +75 item would only be giving you 45 corruption, which isn't that unmanageable. I doubt you'd cleanse such a powerful proc, you'd just wait until you had however much corruption resistance made you comfortable wearing the item.
Really dislike the idea of corruption. Honestly I don't find mechanics like this fun at all. I'm probably just going to cleanse everything, it's just not worth the effort to min max anymore. At least there's no ilvl titanforging
I dont get why ppl are so upset about the negative effects of the positive buff's. You will still go do your weekly heroic clear with your buddies, all of you do 50%parses, then you do some mythic 10s, overtime your weekly 15, and do the same with alts or just go about your bussines until the next reset. These % values won't even affect the 98% of the playerbase in a truly meaningful manner. Also blizzard is giving you the option to just get rid of the effects. Wow now u will do 49.5 % parses in raids..I think corruption is a nice opportunity for blizzard to develop a gearing system which rewards skillful play, and well maintained, intelligently put together gearing. I am happy to see that after years of war/titanforging they are ready to do something less boring and safe.The only negative factor that I can see is the multiple tiers of strengths the effects have and their purely random acquisition.It could be solved in many ways. Just an example from the top of my head: a forge, which might combine two items with the same tier of corruption, into a random slot item a tier above.Whatever the case is players need to have incentive to clear the same raid for a year. So let's just wait until corruption actually arrives and we can see what it truly brings with itself before we try to kill it in its cradle .
I feel like this has to be an error or for PTR only. If it's not, the RNG factor for this tier just went through the roof.
Oh boy, they managed to replace titanforging with something way worse. There should be an award for that.
For now, I only see Corruption as a reason to go cleanse. I'm not sure any of the effects are going to be worth the trouble otherwise... but I am only concerned about M+ and as a tank Corruption sounds like a horrible idea to have on me. As I try to up my game from M12 now to M15 then, I suspect corruption is not part of it.Also, and I guess from current experience, any "system" like Corruption is going to require a TON of time-investment that isn't end-game M+ or raiding. Just another mostly-solo time-sink with limited value that actually takes away from the social play in those end-game things. Like the multi-month process to get rank 3 essences that required skipping out on a mountain of M+ time.
