Upcoming PTR Testing - Mythic Azshara's Eternal Palace, Heroic Warfronts

On Thursday, May 30th and Friday May 31st, we will be conducting Mythic raid testing in The Eternal Palace. After Mythic testing has ended on Friday, we will open the first four bosses on Normal difficulty. These bosses will remain available until Monday, June 3rd.

In addition, we will be conducting our first test of Heroic Battle for Stromgarde on Thursday, May 30th. Please note that this test is Horde only.

As always, this testing schedule is very fluid and subject to the realities of a test environment. We might have to change the time of a testing session, change the bosses being tested, or cancel a test entirely, due to bugs, server hardware issues, etc. Keep an eye on this forum for the latest information, and thank you in advance for testing and providing feedback.

Q: How do I get into the raid zone?

A: In Zuldazar, Boralus, Dalaran, Orgrimmar, or Stormwind, you may speak to Nexus-Lord Donjon Rade III in order to teleport into the raid zone while it is open for testing. (The option to teleport into a zone will not be available when the zone is not open for testing.)

Q: How do I get into the Heroic Battle for Stromgarde?

A: You must first form a raid group of 10-30 players. After your group is formed, you can queue for Heroic Battle for Stromgarde at the Warfront table in Zuldazar.

Q: What character should I use to test the raid?

A: Whichever you prefer. We will be scaling players’ effective level to 120 for raid testing, and their item level to an appropriate threshold for the encounter(s) being tested.

Q: How long does testing last?

A: The primary purpose of testing is to give us the information we need to balance the encounters, evaluate how mechanics are playing out in practice, and identify bugs. Once we’re satisfied that we’ve received that information for a given boss, we’ll be shutting down testing. Usually this takes anywhere from 45 minutes to 2 hours, but there are no guarantees.

Overview: Sivara begins her assault by marking all players with [Frost Mark] or [Toxic Brand]. These volatile compounds will cause an [Unstable Mixture] if a player is ever afflicted with both marks.

Tanks:
Position away from players of an opposing mark and avoid attacks of the opposing element.
Minimize the number of [Rimefrost] and [Septic Taint] stacks.
[Rimefrost] and [Septic Taint] creates [Frozen Ground] and [Septic Ground] upon expiration.
Healers:
Position away from players of an opposing mark and avoid attacks of the opposing element.
[Chimeric Marks] inflicts periodic damage to the entire raid.
[Unstable Mixture] causes high raid wide damage.
Damage Dealers:
Position away from players of an opposing mark and avoid attacks of the opposing element.
Intercept [Frostshock Bolts] that are the same element as your mark.
[Overflow] damage is evenly divide amongst all players it hits.

Chimeric Marks: Abyssal Commander Sivara marks all players with either Frost Mark or Toxic Brand.(

Coming into contact with a player of an opposite mark or taking damage of the opposite element afflicts players with [Unstable Mixture].

On Mythic Difficulty, Abyssal Commander Sivara continues casting Chimeric Marks, stacking [Frost Mark] and [Toxic Brand].

Frost Mark: Marks the player with a frigid brand, inflicting 1 Frost damage every 1 sec and reducing movement speed by 1%. This effect stacks.

Frozen Blood: Frost Mark flows through the player's veins, slow freezing them. If the player does not constantly move, they become Frozen. (Mythic, Heroic)

Frozen: The target's body turns to ice, freezing them for 5 sec. (Heroic, Mythic)

Toxic Brand: Marks the player with a poisonous brand, inflicting 3 Nature damage every 5 sec and reducing healing received by 0%. This effect stacks.

Venomous Blood: Toxic Brand flows through the target's veins. If the player moves too much, they become Delirious. (Heroic, Mythic)

Delirious: The target becomes delirious, disorienting them for 5 sec. (Mythic, Heroic)

Unstable Mixture: A mix of poisons catalyzes in the player, causing them to explode, inflicting 2 Nature damage to all allies every 1 sec for 3 sec.

Crushing Reverberation: Crushes the target, inflicting 275 Physical damage, split between the target and all players within 5 yards. Additionally, Crushing Reverberation sends out a shockwave that knocks all players back.
Frostvenom Tipped: Attacks have a chance to apply either Rimefrost or Septic Taint based on which of the Chimeric Marks the target has.

Rimefrost: Causes the target's Frost Mark to bleed over, inflicting 2 Frost damage every 1 sec for 10 sec. This effect stacks. Upon expiration, a pool of Frozen Ground is created at the target's location, whose size is based on stack count.

Frozen Ground: Frozen ground chills all players standing in it, inflicting 15 Frost damage and applying stacks of Frost Mark.

Septic Taint: Causes the target's Toxic Brand to bleed over, inflicting 2 Nature damage every 1 sec for 10 sec. This effect stacks. Upon expiration, a pool of Septic Ground is created at the target's location, whose size is based on stack count.

Septic Ground: Septic ground envenoms all players standing in it, inflicting 15 Nature damage and applying stacks of Toxic Brand.

Overwhelming Barrage: The caster fires a volley of poisonous and frozen bolts, inflicting either Frost or Nature damage and applying either Frost Mark or Toxic Brand to each player hit.(

Overflowing Venom: Causes a player and their Toxic Brand to explode after 6 sec, inflicting 83 Nature damage split between all players within 5 yards and creating a pool of Septic Ground.

Septic Ground: Septic ground envenoms all players standing in it, inflicting 15 Nature damage and applying stacks of Toxic Brand.

Frostshock Bolts: Fires both frost and toxic crossbow bolts at random players. (Mythic, Normal, Heroic)

Frost Bolt: Fires a frozen bolt at a random player, inflicting 6 Frost damage every 1 second and applying a stack of Frost Mark to the first target it hits. The target is also pinned.
Toxic Bolt: Fires a venomous bolt at a random player, inflicting 6 Nature damage every 1 second and applying a stack of Toxic Brand to the first target it hits. The target is also pinned.

Inversion: The caster switches random players' Chimeric Marks, switching Frost Mark to Toxic Brand and vice versa, and applies Inversion Sickness.

Radiance of Azshara

Using her handmaiden as a willing sacrifice, Azshara has forged into being an elemental of storm and magic. Powered by the soul of the devoted vassal, the resulting monstrosity is the avatar of Azshara's radiance.

Overview: Radiance of Azshara harrasses players with stray magic, building energy until it can summon an [Ancient Tempest], centered around a Stormwraith. The [Ancient Tempest's] energy builds, dealing increasing damage to players not within the Eye of the Storm. Slaying a Stormwraith will cause the tempest to recede.

In Mythic difficulty, [Ancient Tempest] creates two Eyes of the Storm and two Stormwraiths. The [Ancient Tempest] will not recede until both Stormwraiths are slain.

Tanks:
Ensure that you are within melee range of Radiance of Azshara when your tank partner is knocked out of melee range by [Tide Fist].
Keep Stormwraiths and Stormlings within the Eye of the Storm to prevent them from gaining [Swirling Winds].
Healers:
Dispel [Arcane Bomb] when the affected player has moved the bomb to a safe location.
Position yourself so that the Stormwraith's [Gale Buffet] does not eject you from the Eye of the Storm.
Damage Dealers:
Run [Arcane Bomb] away from your allies so it can be safely dispelled.
Position yourself so that the Stormwraith's [Gale Buffet] does not eject you from the Eye of the Storm.

Rising Fury:
The Radiance of Azshara's untamed magic summons traps and hazards to punish unwary players.

Tide Fist: Slams the current threat target with tremendous force, inflicting 60 Physical damage and increasing Physical damage taken by 200% for 22 sec.
Arcanado Burst: Throws missiles of turbulent magic at up to 3 players, inflicting 20 Frost damage on impact and spawning 2 Arcanadoes.

Arcanado: Inflicts 33 Frost damage and knocks back players.

Arcane Bomb: Attaches a massive Arcane Bomb to a player. When dispelled, the bomb no longer tracks the target, but continues to count down to detonation. Upon detonation, Arcane Bomb inflicts 55 Arcane damage and stuns for 6 sec all players within 10 yds.
Unshackled Power: Inflicts 50 Arcane damage to all players.

Raging Storm:
The Radiance of Azshara unleashes its terrifying power, conjuring a deadly Ancient Tempest.

Ancient Tempest: Summons an Ancient Tempest centered around a Stormwraith in the Eye of the Storm.
The Tempest pushes players away from the Eye of the Storm and inflicts 6 Frost damage every 2 sec. This Frost damage inflicted increases as the storm persists. Also reduces damage taken by Radiance of Azshara by 99%.
While the Tempest is active, Stormlings will continually spawn within the Eye of the Storm.
When the Stormwraith is defeated, the Tempest recedes.

Stormwraith

Focus Power: Increases Damage inflicted by 500%.
Gale Buffet: Conjures a strong gust of wind, inflicting 30 Frost damage and knocking back players within 50 yards.

Stormling

Chain Lightning: Inflicts 15 Nature damage to a random target within 0 to 20 yards.

Swirling Winds: Swirling Winds surround Stormwraiths and Stormlings who venture outside the Eye of the Storm, reducing damage taken by 99% and healing them for 10% health every 2 sec while they remain outside of the Eye of the Storm.

Squall Trap: Places a Squall Trap at a player's location, arming after a brief delay.
When triggered, Squall Trap reduces the triggering player's movement speed by 33% for 8 sec and fires 3 Arcane Missiles at the target, inflicting 8 Arcane damage 3 times.

Arcanado: Inflicts 33 Frost damage and knocks back players.

Arcane Bomb: Attaches a massive Arcane Bomb to a player. When dispelled, the bomb no longer tracks the target, but continues to count down to detonation. Upon detonation, Arcane Bomb inflicts 55 Arcane damage and stuns for 6 sec all players within 10 yds.

Priscilla Ashvane's relentless pursuit of power has ultimately led her to the Eternal Palace and into a dark pact with Queen Azshara. But what Ashvane receives in return for her loyalty may be more than she bargained for.

Overview: Lady Ashvane begins the encounter encased in a [Hardened Carapace], absorbing all damage. When the carapace is destroyed, the Azerite crystals embedded into Lady Ashvane flare to life and she begins to gain energy. Upon reaching 100 energy, she regenerates her [Hardened Carapace].

Tanks:
Coordinate with your allies to ensure no [Rippling Waves] reach Lady Ashvane.
Move Lady Ashvane away from patches of [Cutting Coral].
Avoid other players when targted with [Briny Bubble].
Coordinate with your allies to use [Arcing Azerite] to destroy [Coral Growths].
DPS:
Coordinate with your allies to ensure no [Rippling Waves] reach Lady Ashvane.
Avoid other players when targted with [Briny Bubble].
Coordinate with your allies to use [Arcing Azerite] to destroy [Coral Growths].
Healers:
[Rippling Wave] inflicts heavy damage to all players in the raid.
Coordinate with your allies to ensure no [Rippling Waves] reach Lady Ashvane.
Avoid other players when targted with [Briny Bubble].
Coordinate with your allies to use [Arcing Azerite] to destroy [Coral Growths].

Stage 1: Hardened Carapace

Hardened Carapace: A hardened shell protects Lady Ashvane, absorbing 40% of her maximum health.
Each time Ashvane regrows her carapace it grows back 150% stronger.
Coral Growth: Summons forth nodules of coral that erupt from the ground, inflicting 20 Nature damage to players within 10 yards and knocking them back.
Rippling Wave: Lady Ashvane stomps the ground, causing all Coral Growths to unleash a Rippling Wave that travels back towards her.

Each wave that reaches Lady Ashvane restores up to 10% of her Hardened Carapace and inflicts 23 Frost damage to all players.

Any player touching a Rippling Wave causes it to burst, inflicting 23 Frost damage to all players, and the busting player becomes Waterlogged.

On Mythic difficulty, the Coral Growth furthest from Lady Ashvane creates an Empowered Rippling Wave.

Waterlogged: Inflicts 10 Frost damage every 3 sec for 20 min. This effect stacks.
Empowered Rippling Wave: Lady Ashvane creates a larger Rippling Wave that travels back towards her that will restore up to 30% of her Hardened Carapace and inflict up to 69 Frost damage to all players.
Each player that touches the Empowered Rippling Wave causes it to shrink, reducing the amount of Hardened Carapace that is restored by 10% and inflicting 23 Frost damage to all players. Additionally, the triggering player becomes Waterlogged.
When the wave has been touched 3 times, it bursts. (Mythic)

Briny Bubble: A blast of water is unleashed at the target's location, encasing all players within 12 yards within a Briny Bubble, incapacitating them until the bubble is destroyed. While encased, the bubble inflicts 15 Nature damage every 1.5 sec. (Heroic, Mythic, Normal)
Briny Bubble: Unleashes a blast of water at the target, encasing them within a Briny Bubble, incapacitating them until the bubble is destroyed. While encased, the bubble inflicts 15 Nature damage every 1.5 sec. (Raid Finder)
Upsurge: Lady Ashvane unleashes a blast of water at the feet of several players, inflicting 40 Frost damage to all players within 7 yards of the impact, knocking them into the air.
Barnacle Bash: Lady Ashvane slams her current target, inflicting 60 Physical damage and increasing the damage taken from Barnacle Bash by 150% for 35 sec.
In addition, a patch of Cutting Coral is formed.

Cutting Coral: An area of sharp coral erupts from the ground, inflicting 20 Nature damage every 1.5 sec to players standing in the area.

Stage 2: Exposed Azerite

Exposed Azerite: Lady Ashvane's Exposed Azerite periodically erupts sending bolts of energy at several targets, inflicting 10 Arcane damage.
Arcing Azerite: Lady Ashvane creates up to 3 pairs of azerite infused players that unleash a blast after 10 sec.
The blast inflicts 40 Arcane damage to all players in a line between the two marked targets. Additionally, all Coral Growths in the path are destroyed.

Regenerative Coral: When a Coral Growth is shattered by Arcing Azerite several pieces of coral fly into the air and impact after 5 sec, inflicting 20 Nature damage to anyone within 4 yards of the impact.
If any of the shattered pieces are not intercepted by players, a new Coral Growth appears at that location. (Mythic)

Briny Bubble: A blast of water is unleashed at the target's location, encasing all players within 12 yards within a Briny Bubble, incapacitating them until the bubble is destroyed. While encased, the bubble inflicts 15 Nature damage every 1.5 sec.

The Queen's Court

For ten thousand years, the Queen's Court has never failed to enforce the word of Azshara. Now, the queen's most powerful servants stand ready to fulfill her final decree.

Overview: Each member of Queen Azshara's court represents a facet of the Nazjatar forces, with Silivaz represent the might of the oceans and Pashmar the mastery over storms and sky. While overseeing the fight, Queen Azshara will become bored, and issue a series of decrees, changing up the rules of engagement.

Tanks:
Coordinate with your tanking partner to ensure [Silivaz's Touch] or [Pashmar's Touch] doesn't stack too high.
Move either boss out of [Mighty Rupture].
Use personal cooldowns when affected by [Suffering].
Healers:
Queen Azshara's decree [Deferred Sentence] has your team taking damage throughout, with a potential huge spike at the end.
Anyone afflicted by [Suffering] can not be healed for its duration.
Help split the damage from Silivaz's [Frenetic Charge] with the targeted player.
Positioning is important, especially during the [Form Ranks] and [Stand Alone] decrees.
Damage Dealers:
Help split the damage from Silivaz's [Frenetic Charge] with the targeted player.
Damage [Potent Spark]s so that they expire at least 5 seconds apart to avoid lethal damage when they explode.

Desperate Measures: Upon reaching 1% health, the caster becomes immune to all damage and begins casting Desperate Measures, healing 100% of the caster's maximum life.
The cast is interrupted if both Pashmar and Silivaz are defeated.
Separation of Power: While the council members are within 21 yards of each other, their damage taken is reduced by 99%.
Queen Azshara

Decrees: Throughout the fight, Queen Azshara enacts various decrees that must be dealt with. On higher difficulties, the amount of downtime between decrees is reduced.

Form Ranks: Decrees that players must stand in set formations around the court every 10 sec. After 5 seconds, each formation is ranked, inflicting 40 Arcane damage. Each position with no player in formation increases the Arcane damage taken.

In Formation: Stand in formation, fulfilling the requirements of Queen Azshara's decree.

Repeat Performance: Using the same spell or ability twice in a row annoys Queen Azshara, pacifying and silencing the target for 2 sec.
Stand Alone: Forces all targets to stay away from other players. If this decree is broken, Stand Alone inflicts 3 Frost damage to the target and all nearby players.
Deferred Sentence: Standing still builds up stacks within the player's body. While moving, Deferred Sentence inflicts Nature damage to the player based on number of stacks and resets its count. Upon expiration, Deferred Sentence inflicts damage left from the decree.
Obey or Suffer: All players are marked to suffer. If any player takes damage, they are inflicted with Suffering, absorbing all healing for 5 sec.

Suffering: Marks the target to suffer, absorbing all healing for 5 sec.

Sphere of Influence: Each decree emanates an aura around it, inflicting 15 Shadow damage every 2 sec and amplifying the effects of Queen Azshara's decrees, increasing either damage done or duration of effect. (Mythic)

Silivaz the Zealous

Commander's Fury: With each consecutive melee attack against the same target, Silivaz's attack speed increases by 8%. This effect stacks.
Frenetic Charge: Silivaz targets a random player. After 6 sec, he charges to the player, inflicting 175 Frost damage, split between all players within 8 yards of the target and knocking them back. Frenetic Charge leaves a Mighty Rupture at the destination.

Mighty Rupture: Open up a bubbling fissure at the caster's location, inflicting 30 Frost damage every 2 sec to all players standing in it.

Zealous Eruption: Silivaz causes a series of geysers to erupt, inflicting 30 Frost damage to all players every 1 sec for 10 sec. Players near Silivaz take no damage.

Pashmar the Fanatical

Pashmar's Touch: Forces the caster's will on the target, causing melee attacks to apply Pashmar's Touch. This effect stacks. At 10 stacks, Pashmar's Touch becomes Fanatical Zeal, mind controlling the target.

Fanatical Zeal: The caster manipulates the soul of its target, charming them.

Fanatical Verdict: Targets random players and marks them. Upon expiration, the player explodes, inflicting 30 Nature damage to all players within 6 yards.
Fervent Bolt: Zaps the target, inflicting 5 Nature damage.
Violent Outburst: The caster releases destructive wave of electricity in all directions, inflicting 90 Nature damage to all enemies. Being further from the caster reduces the damage taken.
Potent Spark: Summons a series of charged orbs, which cast Potent Spark upon expiration, inflicting 55 Nature damage to all enemies and increases damage taken from Potent Spark by 100% for 5 sec.

Still missing Skullripper on my main, it just doesn't show up ever when I'm doing the warfront with him. Killed it on alts several times. Or the special mobs you can transform into from Darkshore, only got that buff once.
And gearing alts? It is way faster doing WQs than doing Arathi warfront, which gives a crappy 340 plus a once a cycle 370.Comment by danczwgunzI never liked Island Expeditions but I actually like doing warfronts, especially alliance darkshore one. My only issue was that they were too easy, so hopefully these will actually be a rewarding challenge.Comment by hazmaxedWeren't these warfronts created with the idea of bringing back the feel of the Warcraft/ Warcraft II/ Warcraft III RTS games? Looked at from that viewpoint...I don't think they are a failure. Most people playing World of Warcraft have probably never played those games. I played Warcraft II extensively. Players said Warfronts would be more interesting if they were challenging, so now Blizz is testing out a raid-group only Hard Mode version of them with better rewards. We are limited in time for Warfronts and I want to wage war in more places.Comment by WolfrickWarfronts are one of the most Genious system they have ever made since vanilla! Its a system that could be used in PVE and PVP making it very strategic based and fun.

The reason why people dislike it is because they forced people to do it since it gave so good gear and the Normal mode is way to easy... so system should be made and at the 1st time implemented start at "easy mode" since playing a game at "easy mode" makes your Brain turn it self off... since there aer no Challeng or coordination needed to make it a Win.

so HC WARFRONTS WILL BE AMAZING... and since we allready have a system where everythingneed to be balanced "Raids", Warfronts can be a system where blizzard could go wild with ideas and strategy and test out new AI systems that could make NPCS out in the world way more inteligent and interesting to fight.

Give blizzard faith and have your Hopes up, World of warcraft is just at the start of a new area.
