Heh. The only person I know I played with during vanilla who I still keep in contact with is my stepfather. Rest of 'em, meh.
I would love to see this expanded to include other expansions as well. Maybe have an option for each Character you enter you can select which expansions that character was active.
It would be nice if they added a form for players who never played back then too, and might be looking for a group of people to join and be friends with (like me :P)
Why this is not only on classic/vanilla wowhead but here ?
A pretty cool idea. I lost contact with all my Vanilla friends and guild mates a long time ago. I'm sure most don't even play anymore. But if they do, it night be nice to hear from them again!
Great idea, no names I recognise from my server yet but it'd be good to see some old names again. I have a few people from vanilla on Facebook but as neither they nor I actually post anything much on there, I wouldn't really say we're still in touch, otherwise there's one person I'm still actively in touch with via Bnet, everyone else I lost touch with years back. Granted I'm shy and not-social enough that I probably wouldn't make contact again with most anyway but one guy I used to talk to all the time, just vanished completely about 10 years ago, always wondered what happened to him. So I'll keep an eye on this and see who turns up!
I switched from a full server to a new server that opened when BC launched and have been there ever sense. I really can't remember who I used to run with back then in vanilla. This does bring up a lot of nostalgia though.
This is a really neat idea! It's a shame there's not really a way to add an alt name, but I guess I can just submit another entry. Not many of us had alts in classic, but a few of us got so tired of being told "we have enough rogues, go away" that we essentially rerolled lol.
I have to admit I remember more people I connected to during BC than Vanilla, because the friends I started with don't play anymore. But I'll keep an eye on it and maybe, when the release draws nearer, I'll find some people I remember from back then :)
If like me you've become an old fart with bad memory while playing WoW for 14 years, and you have forgotten everything from Vanilla; your character name, your guild name, your in-game friends names, the server you were on... My main character is actually easy to find without this page. i play the same character i made in vanilla and remained on the same server . lol
This is a great idea. I am still in contact with a lot of them. We will be lifetime friends even though we have never met in person. There are some though that I would LOVE to hear from again.
