That Mecha Parrot seems great !

But is that just glitchy mecha spiders ?

Comment by Trelani10

Ohhh that Mech Parrot mount looks nice! Like matching the pet too.

Comment by Nardrosis

Spiders aren't new, they were released in Legion.

Aye.. Parrots are adorable!

They released some mecha spiders before. These ones are most likely different from the old ones. In what way... I couldn't tell you. Probably new colors or something. New coat of paint = new model.

Comment by deathlavitz

that's cool, but where would they come from? glory of the <insert name of the 2nd raid here>?

These are likely slightly modified from the hunter pet model for a companion pet, probably reduced effects or such.

Gnomeregan Pet Battle dungeon, maybe?

200 % that parrots are going to be sold by dollars in in-game shop

Yeah, I think you are correct.

Hope the parrot mount is a engineer recipe.

These mechanical spiders are crafted by engineers, so I guess they'll be companion pets, not hunter pets.

Yeah, I think you are correct.

Nah, in other regions the shop takes currencies other than dollars.

So they giving us robot parrot mounts before they let us have Highmountain eagles? What in the actual ass?

I need those eagles now!

Comment by Caerule

Ah great. I was hoping that mechanical spider pet from the Gnomeregan pet dungeon was just a placeholder. They were just using a red tarantula model. Seems they'll actually be small versions of the hunter pet. Good change.

Also awesome on that mechanical parrot pet/mount combo. Hopefully there'll be a Hunter Pet version too at some point.

my gnome outlaw rogue needs that mecha parrot mount NOW

Blizzard sometimes make variations of models in slightly lower quality for pets. This could be lower poly count (basically 3D resolution), fewer or different animations fitting for a battle pet, and removal of unnecessary geosets. Other issues include things that simply don't scale very well, like certain animated textures and particles. Imagine if the spiders actually just became one big puff of smoke, because the exhaust didn't scale all the way down.
Previous examples are Runeforged Servitor, Boneshard and Blightbreath, each having a dedicated "pet model".

Couldn't agree more. Over the past couple of years I think every single matching mount/pet has ended up on the shop. There is a sliver of a chance it's from other sources, but I see this going up on the shop. Which saddens me, b/c seeing someone on a Parrot, either of the two is pretty rare, it's going to %^&* on that feeling of "wow that's cool" when you see EVERYONE riding around on these.

Nah, you still get to be the most specialest snowflake EVAR by having the rare version.

Or people could just learn to enjoy things because they like them, not because nobody else has them.

Who am I kidding, that's way too grown up.
