I need this!
mfw i clicked on the link 5 minutes after 2 edt and they already passed their funding goal
The first kickstarter link is for the dead one from April.
The campaign was fully funded in about 8 minutes. I luckily got in within the first minute. I was a backer the first time around, when there was no PR and an incredibly high funding goal. Glad to see how quickly 10k was raised, and now watching the pledges go above and beyond what was expected - that's the true love of all things wow. The community has come out in full force today!
I swear this already was a thing?
I know I'm not even the one millionth person to say this, but I kinda prefer the direction the original character models were going, especially the original humans and undead. They're obviously low quality models, but I'm referring to the artistic direction, with the undead looking closer to living humans. Before the Storm and other recent events increased my desire to see more variation in undead.
Good job community, you did us proud! Now keep funding this thing, make it huge!
"In subsequent raid tests, we confronted our first boss, the lava hounds (we sometimes could kill trash mobs in the tests that followed, but we still lost half of the raid on every pull). Some people forgot to repair their gear after dying so often. After Jeff explained that all the lava hounds needed to be killed within seconds of one another, many of us cheered and typed our approval. We were thrilled to learn WoW was going to have content this difficult. It felt as though we weren’t working on a Blizzard game anymore. Jeff continued to reassure the other developers: “Trust me, once the raiders figure this out, it will be trivial.”This statement feels so powerful considering how many mechanics bosses have, and how they devote the same resources on a dungeon to a single raid boss.
Proud to have a small part in this project as a backer, and excited to add to my growing Warcraft library!
The author's twitter also has a few gems and stories as well.If only the postage wasn't so ferocious (~$50 to Australia) i'd get the hardcover.
10k for someone's notes? Maybe I should upload my college notes.
Already hit 46000.00
Dang - goal is surpassed already. This is going to be big. :)
I'd love to get this but I can't justify that cost.It looked like it was going to be about $40-$50 CAD but with the book being $40 USD plus $31 USD for shipping it is around $100 CAD. I think I'll just wait until Amazon has it.
I backed "The Showcase Edition of The WoW Diary" ($150 plus $22 shipping for those interested). I had to have the extras, mainly it being signed by the author as this wasn't offered first go round, and who knows if there will be more signed copies in the future. This is an inside look about the game I/we love! John Staats is a guy that was there at the beginning and I can't wait to read this!
It's at $81k+ CAD (or $62k+ USD if you prefer) and still 27 days for it to go. Kind of nice to see people interested in the background of what made WoW the game it is.
Wow that looks fantastic! :O Seems very interesting, I think I may back this!
