A very good guide it will be really helpful.Thank you for this :)
nice guide :)
I am always hopeless with WeakAuras. Have tried to use this addon many times but always get confused to set it up properly. Too complicated for me I guess.
great guide but side note: guys who are already capable of using it are already using it guys who have no idea about mechanics are looking at dummies to boss modes without clue behind it and same will be with weak auras guys looking at them have no clue what so ever behind certain things, this is making stupid guys instead of getting better all what they do is looking at weak auras and boss modes and when something is different or boss mode will not tell them because they have no idea what is going on then they are lost....so far i know different version of this already existed even back then so i have no idea for what reason was this made.
Is it weird that I like to use a mostly vanilla UI? But then again I’ve been playing for over eight years and I’m still a dirty casual who hasn’t completed a single current raid tier that whole time either.
I make fairly extensive use of WeakAuras - initially using it's provided 'template' options to program auras, and gradually into adding my own custom Lua to do anything from forcing an Aura to always be active independent of triggers, to playing custom sound effects and animations. I'm finding I don't actually need custom Lua in many cases to achieve fairly good results though - WA is actually very robust without the need for custom Lua, it's just not always the most accessible in 'telling you what it can do'.I have created a number of interesting WeakAuras - partly in pursuit of a HUD better optimized for someone with ADHD (me), and partly just to make some cool things.A few things I've made using WeakAuras:
The basic editor in WeakAuras is capable of doing very complex tasks. You don't need to know Lua to make an amazing WA.Being able to create custom code through Lua, and integrate it into your WAs allows you to have absolute control over the information it presents. Many players would claim WA2 is the most powerful addon to be developed for WoW -- and I'm very confident even Blizzard agrees with that assertion.
