4 words that solve Shaman Survivability: Bring back Shamanistic Rage
Maelstrom for Enhancement still just feels like a handicapped clunkier version of a Warrior's Rage, nothing looks visualy impressive or iconic with the spec due to removal of elementals, watering down of Windfury and removal of unique totems alike, it lacks identity along with anything that makes it visualy stand out.Feral-Sprits is one of those abilities that has just gotten downgraded and worse each expansion, as they've removed features from it in orderHealing Shaman on attacks, Movespeed and immunity to slows on use for first 3 seconds.
TLDR: Why is my Enhancement Shaman in Mail more squishy than my Druid.
I'd love it if there was a Talent called Searing Lightning whos effect was:
"Shaman Worgen WHEN?"
Honestly I'm probably gonna pick Totem Mastery, regardless of which one is better because I want my dang totems back! Shaman was my first class and while its not my main anymore I remember how cool totems were to my younger self, like I was staking my claim on an area and I was gonna kick the asses of anyone who dared to step on my turf!
Wow, these changes to resto shaman seem like some of the worst design decisions since...well, the changes to ele shaman a few builds ago. Hopefully they'll prove similarly experimental, more a case of Blizz throwing whatever they can think of at the wall to see what sticks, and they'll be reverted or switched to something better when they don't stick and instead ooze down the wall to settle at its base in a glutinous puddle. As it stands, though, they basically seem designed with the intent of ruining most of the things that make resto interesting and fun to play.
I don't get it... Why Blizzard is changing normally working mechanics and can't see the real problems of the classes and specs... :/
oooooooh booooy i dont like some of those enhance changes. im not liking the more "shammy flavor" abilites. making our stormstrike a totem now....... oh dear. i never really enjoyed the FoA talent i all ways chose something else cause of my issues with maelstom management. i think im going to miss my survivability cooldowns tho. ill keep an eye on enhance sham progress but i dont think ill be "maining" one next expac
They should make wind gust baseline instead of removing it
Any chance that the artifact traits come back gradually with the azerite system? You know, in the age old Blizz fashion of taking our toys away at the start of the new expansion and gradually handing them back over timeThe problems enhance had/has were: squishiness, overreliance on procs, weak single cd - feral spirits (ascendence a talent and a little underwhelming), huge dps loss when movement or any down time on boss occurred and quite limited aoe (mobs kited ->crash lightning ineffective, wolves on 2 min cd). Are any of these being addressed?
Isn't Searing Assault a talent that buffs the initial hit of Flametongue? I don't understand the /spit on this talent...I feel like it is a good option as it is neither a maelstrom builder/spender. And making it us use it on CD instead of using it to refresh the buff duration is a small change that has a nice flavor to my opinion.
I'm curious if Blizz is follow the bold way they started with legion and change some patterns. For the shaman it would be a 4th spec, an earth based tanking spec (shield and one hand)
Personally Im hoping to see more of a lightning build, now that lava burst is losing potency due to cd on flame shock. The new talents seeming to push in that way.
Personally i play just elemental shaman ... and im quite satisfied with it as it is ...But i realy wish to chainge face of that class (not just spec) to be specific: There should be more totems! But not just any totems, but meaningfull totems (aka totem mastery ... used and forgotten for another 2min, thats bad idea) !What reason is to have "race speciffic totems" when you see one just once per 5min cd, wich is also uset usualy in situations when you dont have time to watch it? :DI kinda like the idea of Lava Burst become "totem" spell, or something simmilar wich is used more often, but also not permanently.(using "lightning bolt totem" sounds incredibly stupid too :D )
Forgive me if this was posted before, I am having issues posting here.I as well had an issue with the current gameplay of Shamans this expansion. With many different toons playing from normal content to heroic, I personally feel that my shaman was rocked the hardest by outside damage like AoE and environmental damage. With the addition of Earth Shield as a talent option for Enhancement Shamans, this might help alleviate the issues with this problem even though Shamans are Mail wearing classes. Row 15, with totem mastery, added back as an option for Shamans to take I would like to address the issue of the recast time of 2 mins. I personally would rather see this as a 5 min recast timer to help with the micromanagement issue. I read earlier that warlocks are returning to Cruse of Elements and that also is a 1 min reapply buff. I personally feel that these micro buffs are buffs that interfere with enjoyable gameplay. While other classes like Rogues having the ability to passively debuff their target by simply doing a rotation and other buffs like Priests, Warriors, Druids (as an example) being able to buff for 60 mins. Row 75, In this row of available movement additions, I personally feel that Ancestral Guidance is out of place. Looking at the other two talents, this talent feels as it was added because there were no other choices available. Feral Lunge and Wind Rush Totem both have great movement choices while either single player world questing or raid content that allows more movement for the raid for a while. Please either make Ancestral Guidance a baseline spell for shamans or find something else to replace it with. Also as a final comment, I personally would LOVE the return of 2 handed weapons for Shamans. I know there has been much outcry over the forums on here and the Blizzard forums about how it is never returning and stop crying about it, but some of the best times I personally had to play my Shamans in the past were running around with a two-handed weapon. I personally love the addition of Windfurry Totem coming back into the game, but if I have picked Totem Mastery and activate Windfury Totem will it replace the current wind totem for the Windfury totem or will it just act as another outside totem? As I read above many other people, have made similar comments as mine as well, but without being in beta and seeing the talent changes coupled with the stat squish, it is hard to determine which talents will be more than likely best for the single target to AoE changes for the class. Hope this helps in conveying a personal perspective of one player without generalizing or making assumptions of how other players views on the upcoming changes.
