If you can't grind
Pathfinder before the event, you should invest in a Mage Tower and link the Frostfire Ridge Ogre Waystone Portal. That puts you fairly close to the Bloodmaul Slag Mines flight path which you'll want to unlock regardless of faction. From there, you just walk over, save the kiddies, kill the baddies, smack the big dude, turn in your quests, and open your boxes.
Engineers with 500 enginering can port directly to the zone if you are alliance, but you will still want flying to get right spot of the zone for the quests.
I was going through all my notes from the past month and wanted to share it with you in the hopes some of the things I learned are useful to others starting out on their gold journey... A lot of this is not new to experienced goblins, so TL:DR - You probably know all of this, Garrisons and Cooking are worth the effort.
GarrisonsI never really bothered with them before, but as a Tailor I'm now convinced how useful they can be for
Hexweave Bag. While they're still the biggest bag in the game shared with the Legion ones, they can be the cheapest to make of the 2 options. I thought it would take ages to setup my Garrison, but a few key buildings gets it going pretty quickly.
Inn at level 2 lets you hire specific followers to boost/enhance production at Herb Garden and Tailoring Emporium - Assign someone to both.
Herb Garden setup to make just
Gorgrond Flytrap which you need for the Daily
Hexweave Cloth Cooldown which makes 20 per day.
Try to get a good stock of
Sumptuous Fur for the AH at a cheap price if you can or farm it yourself if so inclined. I'm not and I lucked out finding 1800 fur for 1g each.
Keep a lookout for
Dorothy "Two" or
Calvo Klyne if you're Horde at the entrance to your Town Hall, I've not found her yet, but she sells this Primal Weaving thing that gives an additional, non-daily way of getting hexweave.
CookingI love cooking! It's my new favourite thing to do. I found a really handy guide on
StormspireGetting the final drop recipes was really easy and now I'm in Nomi Land trying for the Rank 3s.
I made a shopping list group of every single ingredient in TSM and check through that to stock up on bargains as often as possible. I've also setup a rudimentary crafting group to make anything at 105% Crafting to skill up and sell the results. With the new raid out, lots of people are buying and over time I hope to figure out what sells well on my server. Currently having good results with
Bear Tartare,
Azshari Salad, and
Fighter Chow.
Oh, and getting the Cooking
Chef's Hat is apparently really useful, so do the Daily Cooking quests in main cities and Old Dalaran to build up
Epicurean's Award. You need 100 of them for the hat.
Those are the main new things that have helped expand on my Enchanting empire, giving more options to make gold. Legion Enchants are still my biggest seller, so that's always my main priority.
I hope my rambling is helpful to others. I've learned so much from the kind and supportive gold community, I hope it gives back in some way.
Happy gold making,
Samadan
I trap the big wolves right below the garrison and get my fur that way. Rank 3 I actually can't remember the building name but the trapper one. Get the follower then you can do 36 workorders at a time and getting 36 takes maybe 10min. Of course you could buy the fur but on my server they are 600g-800g per 200. I don't care to pay that.
Just like with stats, having a lower number makes upgrades (or in this case gold making) feel more rewarding because it makes it seem more meaningful (at least for many, including myself). I think this is an argument strong enough to really consider a change like that and im certainly not against it, but at the same time i wouldnt mind if a change like that never happens.
Honestly, i think a gold squish is highly unlikely. With WoW-Tokens, we have the best gold sink you could possibly hope for and if they really wanted to reduce the amount of gold in WoW, then they would stop giving us follower missions that reward you with over 3k gold every day or two for pretty much 0 effort.
