Looks like it is linked to something more than faction war.
"a terrible discovery will test both leaders, threatening to reignite the bitter enmity between their factions and shake the very foundations of the world of Azeroth."That tells me that the "Threat" of an all out war is a bigger theme in BFA than the certainty of it. It's clear that the player (a former garrison commander and class faction leader) will be put in a position, in posessing the heart of azeroth, to prevent the war from taking root and destroying the world. Yes, "declare your allegiance" was the theme of Blizzcon 2017, but I expect "everybody hates each other to the exclusion of all else" to only last from 8.0-8.1ish, at which point Blizzcon 2018 will spell out the path of the *real* Battle for Azeroth storyline. Blizzcon 2017 was light on details because we haven't turned the corner of the real swerve that lets them show their cards. Teasing Azshara was all that was needed to confirm that the real battle for Azeroth will be the battle for the planet, and "rawr faction war" was just the tone of the hype train for Legion's Denouement year and the first phase of BFA.I expect a boiling faction conflict story to be the "suramar campaign" of BFA... and it will therefore feel as relevant by the second year of BFA as Suramar feels now (not very).
Hopefully the audio book is released at the same time.
I might get it if there is an audiobook release if not, just hurry up and put the book out so Nobbel can read it and give me the important parts.
i think that the "terrible discovery" is azerite if that thing can create a tremendous amount of power that was what the horde or @#$%^ver used to burn teldrassil.really sad to have to wait so long for the novel but meh, it can't be helped.
Hue hue, before they were PREPARED.
Hmm. June 12th is a Tuesday. Could be that Blizzard wanted the book and pre-patch to come out at the same time. If I'm right about this, it would give BFA a mid-July release date, perhaps July 10th or 17th?
could it be pushed back due to the expansion release? Maybe the team needed more time for the expansion release and that is why its pushed back. or maybe it gives too many spoilers for the expansion..so therefore the book is pushed back until after expansion release?
Maybe they are timing the release of the book with the release of the game, if the book has things they'd rather us discover in playing through. If not, I'd guess an August-September release.
That's... a LOT of Argus ahead >.>
i hope the release the new races before the expansion, at least that would give me something to do until then. If on release i have to choose between playing the new zones or leveling a new race alt then the alts will be collecting dust.
"The terrible discovery" is probably that Azeroth has a massive hole in it now....
What if the terrible discovery is that Teldrassil is showing signs of old god corruption in the same way Vordrassil did in Northrend, and being so close to the horde capital, they chose to burn it to the ground before any influence spread?
