entry for blizzcon tix. wow econ rocks.
It's a shame I missed out on the Shadowweave Mask demand. I came back from a break not even a month after it was all over. Shadowsilk itself is still a very tidy profit on the majority of servers though due to how under-farmed it is.
Please discard this comment as an entry for a Virtual Ticket, I already bought mine so would like it to go to someone who doesn't have one!I have to absolutely agree with vic6string about the rarer mounts being somewhat 'ruined' if they become more common. I'm a mount collector, I'm still missing the big rare ones like TLPD and the Deepholm one etc. I did camp that once for 3 days then missed the tag, doh! I haven't quite had the heart to go back for another try yet!I feel like those sorts of mounts are the badges of honour for being a mug patient person, most people don't camp them simply because they can't be bothered to put in the grind (if you can call standing in the same place for hours/days a grind, but you know what I mean!)
Changes to rare spawns is welcomed. Previously camping them would take ages, now it's slightly more accessible
I missed the Shadowweave mask selling too. But in my opinion i had best gold from alchemy potions and leatherworking hides. Also enchating gave some good gold, and was easier to make since you could trade the Blood of Sargeras for mats in Dalaran. also for the rare spawns, i never had any luck since the start, not mentioning the Headless horseman mount :D, been farming for the egg in Draenor, but never been there when it spawned. One of my gold grinding stuff are the garrison missions, maybe a lot of people don´t visit their garrisons anymore, but they still can make pretty gold from missions and even mats.I don´t think of myself as super gold maker, but i can manage.
These mounts are already incredibly common. The only reason you might not see many of them is because a) you play on a dead ass realm and b) people that have them are using newer and better looking mounts than these ones. Also; the respawn timers for mounts like TLPD and Aeonaxx have already been increased a long time ago and a whole party can get the mounts from a single spawn, so whatever prestige there was to them have been long gone.People that still camp for them wants them to have a prestige or their camping will just feel even more pointless and boring.Poseidus is BoE mount that are camped by people that just wants to sell them, which annoys me. I don't want to buy it, I want to get it myself, but it isn't fun competing against people that are not interested in adding the mount to their collection.I think this is a good change. There are many other time consuming things in WoW anyway, if anyone is fearful of running out of that stuff ;)My favorite profession used to be inscription until Blizzard changed the glyph market to the worse, in my opinion. Now my favorite profession is enchanting. It's just so strong. I make a lot of gold selling low level enchanting mats aswell as max level stuff, it's a nice feeling that I get something out of both low level and max level gear that I would otherwise just vendor. 250g for selling a shard instead of vendoring it for 40g? Yes please!
Thank you gumdrops - nice work as every week. :)I am personally pretty hyped about the changes to the rares. I am however bit afraid that those changes were not intended same as the mountdrop from LFR Guldan wasnt intended but then again that got hotfixed pretty quick. I had 2 of the cataclysm rare bosses spawn right next to me last between 4am and 5am and neither of them was back between 4 and 7 hours later. So im not sure if all the rares have their spawn rate increased. I seen Poseidon confirmed many times tho.
Did Wowhead remove the "consecutive days visited" date from profiles?
I too agree with the people disliking the rare spawn change. I mean, why changing it now, after so many time? After a lot of hard work obtaining them? For me, the only thing they're doing is throwing the players' merit in the trash can, again. Well.. About the professions, I'd say Skinning and Leatherworking are my favorites, but I feel they aren't as profitable as Mining and Jewelcrafting for example, which I believe are the strongest in the market. At least in the server I play :3
The change of respawn of rare is very good, we can have the mount easier than before and we don't need to lose all day to wait a respawn that possible we will never see
The issue with characters disappearing in the mobile app is likely related to the bug where characters are disappearing from the API that third party websites rely on. Blizzard has acknowledged that problem in the API forum and is working to fix it.
I like the changes in spawn rates of rares. IMO, getting some of these is crazy hard, and stupidly time- consuming. I know they are supposed to be difficult to get and elusive, but waiting for 48+ hours non-stop for anything in-game is neither healhy nor fun.
Gumdrops, this is still a really valuable added read for me. It's really helpful to have someone with an understanding of the goblin subculture able to provide concise insight. For me, I obtained blacksmithing and enchanting on my main to start legion. I've had a lot of success with my blacksmith - casually making great gains once a month or so from Rethu's Courage legendary. I've had a tougher time with enchanting which feels odd, if I try to sell enchants it's cumbersome to provide enough variety for the market, but it is very profitable to simply disenchant loot and upload chaos crystals to AH. I've found that I can get full value from chaos crystals alone and don't need the headache of managing 200+ enchant auctions. I appreciate the insight and look forward to the article next week. Thanks!
I've done a moderate amount of camping for rare spawns with little success. I approve of the change as it means most campers will be able to get what they want without a huge increase in the numbers of the "rare" items sought.
Primal Sargerite. needed a use but now all other mats are pretty worthlessevery mat in my server is worth less than 10g
I do ALL my selling with the mobile app, not least because I'm usually at work at prime posting time. Over the years I've developed a system that works with its strengths and weaknesses, but there's vast room for improvement. Really though, first thing I'd like to see is Blizz make the basic in-game AH at least as functional as the app.
I am returning to WoW after a few years off and I've got my class and faction picked out and test run on the f2p service. I automatically picked engineering because it made sense for a hunter and use to be the most fun profession. Your post makes me hopeful that I might actually make some gold off it too. :D
I love the changes to spawn rates because on my high pop realm it was almost impossible to ever find these mobs. Since the patch though i have found 6 rare mobs some several times. I have even found doomwalker, found him right when i woke up this morning.
