Christie and metzen are basically the mother and father of warcraft lore. Its nice shell be working full time there.\r\rHope they continue to provide jobs for Nesskain and his wonderful work
Christie and metzen are basically the mother and father of warcraft lore. Its nice shell be working full time there.Well, given the current state of Warcraft lore, it probably should be put up for adoption since its parents have neglected it for 10 years.Blizzard desparately needs to hire a few talented writers to save the Warcraft franchise. Unfortunately, from what I've read of her work, Christie Golden does not appear to be one :(
Where do they hire their writers at?
Except the Arthas book is superior to the drivel that is the Illidan book....

Unfortunately, from what I've read of her work, Christie Golden does not appear to be one :(\r\rAgreed; they need to reach back out to the writers who did the stories for the Legends mangas; those were well written and a pleasure to read.
Her books are pretty hit and miss a lot of the time. I liked war crimes until it got pretty full silly towards the end of the novel and it was nice seeing references to Shadows of the Horde in Legion if only through an NPC who doesn't say much. Read Arthas which was fun but some of her others are a bit "Eehhhh."\r\rHope she does well though. Love reading me some lore even if it's not always written well.

Agreed; they need to reach back out to the writers who did the stories for the Legends mangas; those were well written and a pleasure to read.\r\rHold on, wait... you don't like Golden's stories, but you like the mangas, which include Kalec falling in love with the bloody Sunwell that somehow had taken human girl form? Huh?\r\rI've got a couple of criticisms of Golden, but they're mostly that she seems to be given one idea to roll with and then has to mesh that idea into the actual story in the game itself, which can be a little off. Overall, I've enjoyed her work.\r\rThe mangas, meanwhile, have Knaak as an author, and he's introduced some lovely ideas, like a time traveling adventure that saw an Orc dropped back in time to help the Night Elves fight the Legion, and the Night Elves promptly forgot what an Orc was.
While I was enjoy Warcraft Chronicles, now this bad omen has returned. Well I just hope Blizzard wont allow Christie golden to mess up with the lore. Last time she touched, she destroyed many lore figures (making Garrosh villain, putting jaina into her menopause). Just NO! We have enough human and dragon mating stories (jaina and kalec).
whats done its done, no one can fix the way the Lore is. i welcome new lore.\r how bad can we get from where we are now ?
Looking forward to seeing what Golden can do with the story. Arthas and War Crimes are still my favorite two Warcraft novels. Plus, she did a ton of fleshing out with the Wrathion and Anduin relationship, and boy do I want to see that flourish.

At least the relationship Kalec had with Anveena was built up over the course of the Sunwell trilogy..unlike Tides of War where it first there was that god awful scene with Ary saying that she and Kalec will always be friends, but there is someone else out there for him, and then you had that ham fisted romantic tumor for the rest of the book that continued into War Crimes.\r\rWar of the Ancients was a bad trilogy, there is no disputing that, but at least when it comes to romance, he can write it better. I also prefer him over Golden; Dawn of the Aspect was much better then the two books it was squashed between, and he made the Jaina Kalec thing semi-tolerable.\r\rBut I am talking about the other authors. \r\rSuch as Troy Lewter who wrote the heart breaking The Journey, about a foolish attempt to re-take Anderhol and how it affected a family of farmers, Honest Trade which is about a blacksmith who doesn't care who he sells his wares to..until the last one ends up getting someone he cares about killed. He also wrote a great story, Crusader's Blood, about a certain old world quest involving a Forsaken, a Scarlet Crusader and the deadly pumpkins. He also did story, the Thrill of the Hunt, about Hemet showing that the greatest hunter in Azeroth isn't kill crazy as everyone thinks and absolutely destroys a trio of poachers.\r\rDan Jolley who wrote How to Win Friends, an absolutely hilarious gnome story. Miles to Go which has an exceptional Tauren and Gnome combo and ties into Magtha's plot for Cairne. Bloodsail Buccaneers which is about our favourite pirate group and a trio of young fools who get swept up by them. \r\rGrace Randolph who wrote the Warrior Divided\/United two parter about a pair of twins and the mystery to find out what happened to their parents. \r\rAaron Sparrow wrote the story Family Values about an orc who went against the bloodlust during the Draenei War and raised an orphan draenei in secret, protecting her from his fellow clan mates. \r\rTim Beedle did an amazing story about the Darkmoon Faire team, called Blood Runs Thicker, and it is one of the best lore stories out there hands down.\r\rLouise Simonson who wrote the First Guardian story; the thing that is still being referenced now and the past of Alodi.\r\rAnd Evelyn Fredericksen who did a Cleansing Fire, the back ground story on the Headless Horseman.\r\rThose are the people I want to see come back and work on the Lore.
I liked Christie's novels that I read. They were certainly better than Richard leviathan A. leviathan "Leviathan" leviathan Knaak, whose stories would have been great if I could see them through the forest of leviathans.
making Garrosh villain\r\r...Were you not here for Mists of Pandaria? If anything Golden made Garrosh a much more understandable and relateable villain. The part where he compares himself to Arthas is one of the best parts of the novel.

Jaina was an adult. Just because Kael was much older than her doesn't make him a pedophile.

Jaina really has bad taste in boyfriends.

She was 18 later when Arthas proposed to her, they had sex then he dumped her.
And in most European countries, which what the humans kingdoms are inspired by, the legal age is 16. (Just like in LotR and GoT\/AsoiaF, CoN) Also its a fantasy book. She was an adult, and you are wrong.
