Nice work Perculia !
I thought Grommash was the first chieftain of the Iron Horde. Blackhand is the chieftain of the Blackrock Clan.
Just regarding Blackhand in WoD: I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Grom was the Warchief of the Iron Horde. Blackhand was killed by the players well before Gul'dan took command of it, as well. Orgrim was Blackhand's lieutenant, but again, I'm pretty sure Blackhand was only the chieftain of the Blackrock clan and the mastermind behind the forges which produced the Iron Horde's weaponry.
Genius idea, done really well. Thanks for this, thoroughly enjoyable - just like both the film and the games themselves.
Awesome post! This was very much needed, especially for the people who fanatically defend the movie and think it does not change stuff.
One point about Khadgar in the original story - if I remember correctly, he was aged as a result of an attack upon him by Medivh, not as a means enabling him to defeat Medivh. The attack both aged him and temporarily drained him of his magic. In the summary above it is implied that the aging was something Khadgar undertook willingly as a step to enable him to defeat Medivh. Unless I am wrong, this is incorrect.
Thank you so much for this. I've been going mad trying to find the information!
Pretty sure Garona is not mentioned to be half-human anywhere in the movie. And given a very early scene shown with her and certain caged individuals, it would make sense with what is mainstream canon as well.
Moroes so salty. ;)
It's been stated in a lot of interviews that Garona is half-human and that a change was specifically made for the movies (around a minute in): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CZBO6SV_Q_MI've also heard reports that the official movie novel explicitly says who her father is--my copy hasn't arrived yet so can't confirm.
any chance wowhead could make posts on the upcoming exspantion instead of the movie. i actualy didnt like the movie. it was so rushed that i didnt care when characters died. but theres a new exspantion coming! this must be intresting for everyone in the wow community. ( leaving a note on the movie.. it was soooooooooooooo pretty! and lets cross fingers for a legion surprise with playable brown orcs!)
omg, Khadgars Whiskers dont....thats not what.....there were just named after his beard.
Thanks for the hard work Perculia! Clears up a lot of questions.
Gul'dan's spirit also appears in Outland, in Shadowmoon Valley at the Alter of Damnation.
The caged individual you are talking about is asking after her daughter, not calling Garona her daughter. She actually hints at it while the three of them are at the campsite. Thank you Perculia, it really does clear some things up.
