why? you know you dont have to look at them, right? Also they are just pictures. Theres no reason to take a stand to begin with. (unless it displays provocative things etc)

Might as well start hating on screenshots as well then if thats the case. Comment by perculia I think the selfie camera can be a good thing for new players. It can introduce them to taking screenshots and sharing pictures of fun in-game memories with friends. You don't have to come up with stories, just tell people what you're up to in the game. In a Blog for example. Comment by Foxpaw I'd like and probably actually use the selfie camera if there was a way to make your character NOT make stupid faces at the camera.\r

As for outdoor experience stuff, fond memories of outdoor stuff include;\r
-Hearing the dragon in Duskwood murdering random low level players who wandered in\r
-Relatedly, the first time I came up to Duskwood from Elwynn, crossing the river and seeing all the red and skull level mobs patrolling the edges. Skinning a couple of the wolves other people killed and running away to the safe shore.\r
-Fel Reaver randomly rolling up and murdering you was always hilarious and bears repeating as obvious as it might have been\r
-Likewise the constant fight for your life that was the murderzone of oldschool Moonbrook. It is to this day hilarious to me that more players died there than to anything else at one point.\r
-The first time I looked up at the sky in oldschool Nagrand. Sooo pretty. I had a screenshot of it that I used as a desktop for ages.\r
-Going into the ice cave where Frostmourn was originally held.\r
-Actually, going waaaay back, the first time I stepped through the ruined gates of Lorderon, and collectively all those little moments of "oh wow, I'm actually visiting all these locations I experienced in Warcraft III" Comment by Morwo why did blizz not have any way to get a selfie directly from us ingame via twitter? i mean many players connect a twitteraccount ingame to the game. concepts are still before 2010? but selfies already sent are awesome, check them out! Even though Friday Update Arcade covers games that I do not play, I still find it highly entertaining. I look for it every Friday.\r

What I am really waiting for it the post of this weeks Wowhead Weekly with new host Panser. I am not home when they do the live show. Comment by SoCalWoWGal I still have my selfie camera and it's upgrade resting in my bank.<snip>.

I am not sure if you know, but the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera MkII (which is an upgrade for the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera), when used adds the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera MkII to your toy box and you can free up the 2 bank slots if you no longer choose to keep those items in your bank. Just double check to see that the toy has been correctly added to your Toy Box Collection tab before deleting them.

Don't forget that there is the Field Photographer achievement and the related tittle for taking the selfie photos and there is no requirement for you to Tweet them or share them in any manner. See S.E.L.F.I.E. Cameras and the Field Photographer Achievement Guide.

Also, the S.E.L.F.I.E. Cameras and the Field Photographer Achievement Guide shows some of the neat filter effects that you can create with the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera MkII:

Sketch Filter: Enables a sketch filter for your S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera.
Black and White Filter: Enables a black & white filter for your S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera.
Death Filter: Enables a death filter for your S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera.

I have used these filters to get some really interesting photos with the S.E.L.F.I.E. Camera MkII. This is one of my favorites, it is the Westfall Lighthouse with the Sketch Filter.

Should you choose to take the photos for the Field Photographer. they will be on your computer in the same place that your other screenshots are, should you want to delete them. Comment by Interest I'd really like seeing wowhead taking a stand against selfies.

Pretty much this. On a semi-related note,it's amazing how often people complain about the selfie camera as if it's a major feature even though while Blizzard definitely liked advertising it, the feature itself probably didn't take much work to implement (much like the other "infamous" feature, Twitter integration).

On another note, guess I don't have to worry about cancelling my sub. I expected WoW Tokens + recurring subscription would behave like that but the clarification is nice. Comment by Maelynn I'd really like seeing wowhead taking a stand against selfies.

In real life, I generally loathe selfies. Some are nice, granted, but in my opinion most are just a pitiful display of narcissism and a cry for personal attention.

In WoW, I think selfies are actually a nice addition. It encourages people to be creative about the screenshots they take, to make it an interesting\/witty\/silly picture that might entertain others (and inspire them to make their own). Also, people become more aware of their in-game surroundings as they try to spot the potential for a nice screenie\/selfie around them, which I also find a plus as many areas in this game are beautiful yet hardly noticed. This way it can really enhance your game experience.

So it's all about perspective. Comment by LoKHor Fishing needs more interaction, more skill involved, and to feel more rewarding without having to grind out hundreds of fish. A greater chance of instant, fun, cosmetic-related consumables would be good. \r

One thing I'm glad of with fishing is that even though you have to catch anywhere between 3 and 13 fish to gain a skill point, it is a lot easier to level than it used to be. I have a twitter account that I tried out but for now, I don't use it.

If you collect toys, or have any interest in the achievements then no reason to not use them.
Once in the toybox it isn't taking up any inventory space either, which you can do with the upgrade.
Twitter is not tied to the selfie camera in any way since it works with the most recent screenshot, whether that is traditional or selfie.

Edit: SoCalWoWGal already covered that, and much better than I did.

Why ?
No reason to just hate them.
Just seems a popular thing to do for some silly reason, hating a feature for the sake of it.
It is a fun feature for some players, and not appealing to others.
Oh, just like everything else in the game.
Nothing in the game is universally appealing to every player.

The traditional screenshot offers more flexibility and 3rd party applications can do filters with more control and more variety.
I see selfies as a pop culture reference, only with some interactivity to it.
