Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 Background Download Begins

To help you get prepared for the upcoming Warlords of Draenor Patch 6.0.2 release, we’ve uploaded the patch data to the background downloader. By downloading the patch in advance, you’ll be ready to get in-game and start playing as soon as the expansion goes live!

If you have issues during this process, you can find help to resolve them on the support site here.

You can adjust your download settings within the Battle.net desktop app by clicking on the Battle.net symbol and selecting “Settings” from the menu. Under Game Install/Update you’ll be able to adjust your download options for each of your games and enable or disable the background download, adjust the rate for your download, or pause it if you have a restriction on daily downloads.

It has always felt like some obligation, "BLizz must release a next gen MMO or they'll be swept away by Conan/LOTRO/FFXIV/Wildstorm/ect", when they're quite happy working WoW and developing projects they like, Hearthstone for instance. After 10 years, the players are still here. A lot of them won't be going anywhere. Unless they get an idea that truly hits them like Hearthstone did, I don't know if there's a need for it.

I do hope some of the expertise they gained via the project might go toward a reworked WoW engine. I'd be nice to not have a new game, but a complete work of the engine to modern specs and tech, using our characters. Facts don't lie. When they put a project "on ice" it just means its never going to see the light of day. In the entire history of this company they've never pulled back a project only to bring it back again at a later time. They announce the game, and then the game is either released (Warcraft 1 2 and 3, wow, starcraft 1 and 2, Diablo 1 2 and 3) or its not (Warcraft: Adventures, Starcraft: Ghost, Titan)

There is no "we'll see". The virtual goodies are very nice but I am interested in what the blizzcon store will be offering this year, hopefully something I will be willing to pay money for.
