Damn you pvpers!
Well crap, I thought I'd have more time to pull 2200 rating out of my backside. I promised myself I wasn't going to let that gorgeous Season 14 Elite Hunter set pass me by.
Longer wait time for WoD...? As a person who barely PvP's and can't wait for WoD, pretty disapointed...
Seems strange that Blizzard decided to split up the end of expansion PvP season into two separate seasons, something they haven't done since BC. Maybe they just want to use the Prideful Gladiator gear that they had previously put in the game files. For Wrath and Cata, the final PvP season lasted about as long as the final patch:- Wrath - 37 weeks- Cata - 38 weeksHopefully Blizzard will stick to this precedent and the two final PvP seasons in Mists will last about the same amount of time as the final seasons in Wrath & Cata meaning that:- 37 weeks = Warlords pre-patch release on June 3- 38 weeks = Warlords pre-patch release on June 10
Obviously WoD is significantly delayed. It's a bummer, but certainly not a surprise.
Re surprises: meant we'd maybe be getting a raid like Ruby Sanctum or a meatier interim content patch, in spite of the announcement at BlizzCon that there was no 5.5. WoD at BlizzCon had a ton of data changes, getting an expansion that complex out sooner than expected doesn't seem feasible.
FYI - Holinka just tweeted the following:\r\r"@MikeGiraldi Trying to break the trend of long seasons to end the expac. People reading waaaaay to much into it."\r\rin response to:\r\r"@holinka How long can we expect the current season to last as it's already been 16 weeks and end of expac seasons tend to go 30+ weeks?"\r\rhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/holinka\/status\/420967419843461120\r\rSo it may not be much of a delay, if at all.
Seems like there are some relatively simple things they could put in a 5.4.x that would keep PvE players busy too, like Raiding With Leashes III.
A lot of people at BlizzCon assumed that WoD would be unusually fast, since we'd gotten used to quick content patches and it was stated that WoD at BlizzCon was farther along than MoP was at BlizzCon. So even if Season 14 and Season 15 are on the short side like I mentioned in the article, I think it's still a surprise to some people that there was a need for a Season 15 in the first place. There should be an official blog at some point that hopefully can clarify things :)
I suspect there are many like I who are just getting started on Normal progression (even in Flex, there sure seem to be many still on the Legendary line)... this is good for us because it means we can at least get well geared before WoD hits.

I expected WoD closed beta to start in January or February, with release to coincide with the Elder Scrolls Online and Wildstar release dates in April\/May. \r\rIt's clear that is not going to happen now-- best guess is WoD beta to start in April\/May, rather than release.

For all we know, WoD beta could start this week. I doubt that having another PvP season affects the beta schedule at all. Like Holinka said, "people reading waaaaay to much into it."
Yay more time to do flex with my guild :)

Like Holinka said, "people reading waaaaay to much into it."Like Perculia said, why would they bother if WoD was coming out in 3 months? We have to be guided by experience here. Blizzard always says they want to release expansions quicker. But it's just not in their DNA. Final patches stretch on.But hey, god knows I'd love to be proved wrong!
yall need to have it to where un non pvpers can do other stuff to get like that cloak and etc and future questlines plz do something for pve players like that plzzzzz

But it's just not in their DNA. Final patches stretch on.\r\rBut hey, god knows I'd love to be proved wrong!\r\rWell Holinka expressly said that the point of adding another PvP season to Mists is to "break the trend of long seasons to end the expac," not any indication that WoD is delayed.\r\rIf we're talking about being guided by experience, there's no way WoD would have come out in the next 3 months - with or without another PvP season. The beta hasn't started yet, and expansion beta testing typically lasts 5-6 months. Maybe their plan is to have a shorter beta schedule for WoD, but I doubt it.\r\rThere is still a strong possibility that WoD will be out faster than Mists. Even if WoD releases in late June, that would still be faster than the Cata-to-Mists timeframe. If WoD beta doesn't start in January, then I'll start worrying about an August-September release for WoD.
June would mean 10 months of patch 5.4. \r\rNot surprising, certainly, being guided by experience. But still a major bummer.
June would mean 10 months of patch 5.4. \r\rNot surprising, certainly, being guided by experience. But still a major bummer.\r\rYeah, it seems that Blizzard hasn't been able to get the Warcraft team to the point of developing content entirely in parallel (one group works on the mid-expansion content patches, while another works on the next expansion). \r\rMaybe some day...
I suspect there are many like I who are just getting started on Normal progression (even in Flex, there sure seem to be many still on the Legendary line)... this is good for us because it means we can at least get well geared before WoD hits.Yeah, most of those are alts. A good amount of my raid guild started moving onto playing alts (before they slowly started to let their subscriptions die out) because they had their legendary cloaks since 5.4 started. Heck, a good amount of my server had their legendary cloaks at 5.4's start and had started moving on to alts a few weeks ago to try and spice things up, and my server's RP.I like that they won't go to the next patch\/expansion just yet, because I really want to get the FoS achieve and mount for killing Garrosh (though that might be hard, since raiding guilds in general seem to fall apart once they hit Garrosh just as much as they actually kill him and move on to Heroic). But, unless they release new content or give a date for WoD (which, if MoP was any indication, may not be until two months before), there's no reason for me to keep playing past March. Which would actually make me a devotee compared to the majority of my server :\/.
