Great compilation!\r\rBut, what about actual 522 valor items from Shado Pan Assault? Would be cheaper on 5.4?
So if one is way beyond 496 gear, one can collect specific armor tokens that NORMALLY can make said 496 gear and apply this Burden of Eternity to create a 535 item? Or is it a different Armor Token?\r\rSo Lesser Charms NOW makes the new bonus loot thingee (Warforged Seals) for SoO. Do those stack to 10 and no more? AND Mogu Runes of Fate, do those NOW stack to 20?
Pretty sure I read it was 35% less VP in 5.4.
Did I read that wrong or did it say that Valor upgrading is only 250 now...
what about actual 522 valor items from Shado Pan Assault? Would be cheaper on 5.4?Yep, the currency conversion link has the details.1250 > 825. Necks, Wrists, Rings, Cloak.1750 > 1155. Trinket, Hands, Waist.2250 > 1485. Legs, Chest.
Did I read that wrong or did it say that Valor upgrading is only 250 now...\r\rThis was the change implemented in 5.3. 250 per upgrade, 500 total per piece of gear.
Did I read that wrong or did it say that Valor upgrading is only 250 now...\rIt's been 250 Valor for a 4ilvl upgrade since 5.3
Just to clarify a few things--the initial post was about a Blizzard blog highlighting ways to prep for 5.4, but there are some things I've gone into more detail on my own in Wowhead blogs. The end of the heirloom article explains the Timeless Isle BoAs in more detail, and on PTR pages, we've added a tab for users to see what BoA tokens create which epics.\r\rAs for the currency conversions, the article did not mention Shado-Pan Assault changes, or that reputation items from 5.1 and 5.2 also now cost Justice Points. Those changes are still in the patch notes and on the PTR, I think it was just an oversight when writing it up.
Valor is not being reset and the best thing to do with your points is to use them for item upgrades in 5.4.\r\rYou mean the only thing to do with your VP... unless you're gearing an alt or haven't been playing for the past 2 patches and still have Shado-pan gear to buy. No new progression VP gear is a risky move, imo. There's been supplemental token gear for as long as I can remember. I'm just kinda left shaking my head...\r\rParticularly lucky (or persistent) players might find themselves in possession of a Burden of Eternity, an extremely powerful artifact that, when used on a Timeless armor token, causes it to create an even more powerful item rated at ilvl 535.\r\rAnother cringe-worthy moment... now i'm going to have to hold off on using a Timeless armor token on an alt just in case I come across one of these for a slot I can upgrade. Luckily both flex and normal are higher than 535, so the number of available upgrades should decrease fairly quickly.\r\rI was excited for MoP at the start. Ever since then, with every patch my excitement has been tempered by all the questionable decisions the devs are making. =\/\r\rAt least pet battles still feel fresh and interesting.
Great compilation!\r\rBut, what about actual 522 valor items from Shado Pan Assault? Would be cheaper on 5.4?\r\rThey answered this. \r\rShado-Pan Assault epics will require Friendly reputation and also have greatly reduced costs.\r\rSo if one is way beyond 496 gear, one can collect specific armor tokens that NORMALLY can make said 496 gear and apply this Burden of Eternity to create a 535 item? Or is it a different Armor Token?\r\rYes.\r\rWhen you get a 496 armor token you can do 3 things with it, you can vendor it, or mail it to an alt in the same realm, or right click it to get a 496 armor piece of your current spec (Be sure to be in the right spec before doing this, few things suck more than wanting a healing piece but being in your tank spec and thus getting a tank piece)\r\rIf you manage to nab a Burden of Eternity you can right click that, and then click on a 496 armor token and you'll get a 533 armor piece relevant to your spec.\r\rSo Lesser Charms NOW makes the new bonus loot thingee (Warforged Seals) for SoO. Do those stack to 10 and no more? AND Mogu Runes of Fate, do those NOW stack to 20?\r\rYes, yes, and I'm not sure.\r\r\r\rParticularly lucky (or persistent) players might find themselves in possession of a Burden of Eternity, an extremely powerful artifact that, when used on a Timeless armor token, causes it to create an even more powerful item rated at ilvl 535.\r\rAnother cringe-worthy moment... now i'm going to have to hold off on using a Timeless armor token on an alt just in case I come across one of these for a slot I can upgrade.\r\rNot quite.\r\rThe armor tokens come in different armor types, cloth, mail, leather, and plate. So for example if you are a DK and you get a Cloth Chest armor token, you have no reason to hold on to it, since the gear from it is useless for you, so just mail it to an alt.\r\rLikewise, I'll inform you that these armor tokens are INCREDIBLY frequent, and there's no need to hoard them just in case you get a Burden of Eternity, chances are you'll get more armor tokens than you'll know what to do with.
Now if only I could connect for more than 3 minutes. e.e
