Wonder if they'll also fix it up for Wintergrasp, since apparently it's affecting that too?
Wonder if they'll also fix it up for Wintergrasp, since apparently it's affecting that too?\r\rJust updated but yes, they are all bugs. Edited the last post since he's answering A LOT of q's about that :)
" I also think CRZ has become a bit of a bogeyman, blamed for some bugs that it has nothing to do with. :)"\r\rJust in Orgrimmar and was alerted via chat that a large Alliance raid was heading north from Razor Hill directly towards us. They were met with resistance just outside Orgrimmar's gates, whereupon they simply ran into the city and phased back onto their realm, meaning not only did they avoid death by our hands, but they instantly appeared in Orgrimmar on their home realm. Not only are there some weird bugs, but players are savvy enough to have already figured out how to exploit them. \r\rWhile I believe CRZ may be getting blamed more than it should, there are some major, major issues to get sorted out before players are going to be satisfied with the so-called benefits. I started out in complete support of CRZ's. Now, I'm not so sure. There's this, and Saturday where because of CRZ's, I showed up for the Kal'uak fishing derby nearly two hours late. Hopefully, as they've alluded to, the fishing bug has been patched.
Why remove have group will travel !
Thank you to the Wowhead team for putting the AMA in this format, much appreciated!
I understand that the new expansion is coming out in September... but why mess with the talent tree and the spell book? These things were better left untouched.
Why remove have group will travel !Because it promoted laziness. If you can't get your group to the destination within 10 minutes there is something seriously wrong with the group, not the game. If you ARE one of the people sat in the AH waiting to be summoned then you are just lazy and if you are that lazy, you shouldn't really be allowed to do the content if you can't be bothered to go there.Seriously, how many people actually know where the entrance is for BWD, DS, or Firelands is? Probably not that many.If 10 minutes is too long for you and you have a 'limited amount of time' to play then I think raiding, or the game in general, isn't for you if 10 extra minutes is way too much for you, especially when you have to get a group together first and you don't know how long that will take. As said, if the rest of the group can't make it in 10, it's their problem, not the games. It also created problems, made possible by the unbelievable amount of laziness people seem to suffer from. Quite a few times I have spent an hour to get an ICC 25 achi run going and when the group is full somebody says "Summon us""Well, my HGWT is on cooldown, can somebody else do it?"*Entire group leaves*They want people to be out in the world, this isn't possible if one guy has to summon the 24 people AFK in the AH inside the actual raid (I've seen people leave because they weren't summoned inside the raid but just outside of it before)I understand that the new expansion is coming out in September... but why mess with the talent tree and the spell book? These things were better left untouched. Please tell me how the old talent system was better. Did searching noxxic for the 'correct' build for your class really take that much skill and brain power? No, it didn't, the old system was horrible. At least now I get to actually choose between talents that make some kind of difference rather than be forced to take a certain build so I don't nerf myself and if, IF I am lucky I get to put 1 spare point on +1% haste...Yes, old system, I had so much choice to customise there...

Not only are there some weird bugs, but players are savvy enough to have already figured out how to exploit them. I believe that those individuals were still showing up on their respective servers and entering their servers Orgrimmar. I'm not sure how this is exploiting anything. It's not as if all of them were suddenly appearing in Orgrimmar out of thin-air.I really don't care for reddit and don't want to join the site but I wish someone would ask why they have it currently set up so that you can only really earn one Ironpaw Token per day from the Tiller dailies. I know you can gather more fish\/crops\/meat and turn those in for more tokens but why only one from dailies? Doesn't make sense to me.
Holy formatting error, Batman.o.OEdit: Nevermind, fixed while I was typing. :p

Doesn't make sense to me.\r\rProbably for the same reason you can only get one cooking award per day in Azeroth; you'd think they would let us do all three cooking dailies in each city per day after all.

And I think you would get more than one in Dalaran when it was the previous currency as you needed a lot to get the Chef's Hat. In MoP there is a Frying Pan, Rolling Pin & Apron that requires 150. Without turning in Spirit of Harmonys or baskets of veggies\/meat\/fish it'd take quite sometime I think. Perhaps that's the point though.
dear blizzard, can you please bring back fury warriors to pvp, so tired of arms outshining us in arenas and battlegrounds. I refuse to switch. Fury for Life! just saying...

But I mean all through out Cataclysm, it would have been nice that rather then picking a city to do the daily in, you could have done all three for the cooking tokens. The fact that they have added in more ways in Mists is a very nice feature.
Raids with friends >> Raid Finder >> no raiding at all.\rLet me laugh, i would definitely make it this way: raiding with friends > not raiding at all > new LFR (maybe the old one too)\rI also think that pretty many agree with me on this.\rnew lfr gives you less gold than old one, with and without loots.\rnew lfr might give you items you don't need at all. Lets say someone got heroic dragon soul chest. Still gets chest token from lfr, yey! so much useless!\rnew lfr wont give you the ability to trade useless tokens away, i would defo trade my useless tokens to someone who really needs it, rather than get HUGE ammount of gold when selling it to vendor. 5g GG. If the useless token would give me 100g, then i would sell it and be happy.\rWhy we cant see who won the token? Why did they win it? - They won the roll. What roll? Roll decided by who? Why did the random roll decided to give the loot to someone who doesnt need it? Why blizzard decided to f@#%k up LFR even more? That, my friend, is a good question. Someone already said "why fix something, what is not broken?" -Maybe blizzard wanted to make broken game? Or maybe they dont think, before they fix things? Then what happens?\r- Cataclysm all over again.
FINALLY. FINALLY Blizzard acknowledges there is a problem with the current 25man and 10man raiding model that is resulting in the eventual demise of the former.\r\rThe first step of recognizing a problem is done. Now to find a solution.
Has anything ever been mentioned about bringing back the old blacksmith recipes that were removed when Cata hit?
FINALLY. FINALLY Blizzard acknowledges there is a problem with the current 25man and 10man raiding model that is resulting in the eventual demise of the former. The first step of recognizing a problem is done. Now to find a solution.I was very pleased they finally admitted that as well. With the interviews at BlizzCon, I tried to ask a question about that, but it got shut down--not intentionally, but they didn't care or elaborate. I think they must have seen how many guilds disbanded recently or seen data that showed 10-mans were simply infinitely more popular nowadays. As someone who used to raid in a world first guild, it always bugged me to see 25-mans take hit after hit. Take away our really cool realm firsts, take away our special mounts, take away any perk for doing it and it becomes a lot less easy to justify raiding 5 days a week IMO.
Do you feel there has been a change in how things are done since the merger with Activision, either within game development or the company in general?\rI'll come out and say it. Activision gets an unfair reputation among our players for this, as does Bobby Kotick. \r\rWhat a brave little soldier, taking one for the team...\r\rWhy did Thrall let Gallywix live if he's a slaveowner? Why did Thrall ever even allow slavery in the Horde?\rThrall's vision of the Horde is a refuge for people in need. He's a helpful guy. The Bilgewater Goblins just had their home destroyed, and they were refugees (he can certainly relate to that). They helped him in the Lost Isles, so he offered them a home. Presumably he'd put a stop to any slave trade (the player characters don't remain slaves once they join the Horde.)\r\rOf course... afterwards he was no longer the Warchief. Garrosh was probably a lot more hands-off of the goblins, so long as they showed their usefulness - as they demonstrated immediately in Azshara. An excellent question, BTW! \r\r"excellent question, BTW!"\rLame answer, BTW! "Blah blah blah Goblins" and then just ignore the rest of the question. The fact that there was slavery and gladiatorial matches going on during Thrall's reign and by people Thrall trusted was poor writing. Are they even thinking when they write lore?\r\rWhat are you doing for dead and dying low population servers?\rCross-realm zones are definitely our first move toward improving the play experience for low-pop servers (or even medium population). \rCRZ is just their way to pretend that there aren't abysmally low populated servers. Bottom line. They're doing everything they can to put a bandaid on a broken arm instead of just sucking it up and merging servers.\r\rWe were promised shorter development cycles, but the wait between Cataclysm and Mists has been too long...\rTo be fair, Dragonsoul -> Pandaria will have been several months faster than ICC -> Cata. That being said, I totally agree that it's still way too long. This is something we're committed to making better. \r\rTo be fair, Dragonsoul was released at once. ICC was released over several months AND then they released another raid in between ICC and Cataclysm. \rTo be fair, Cataclysm had a whole major content patch that was nothing but rehashed content.\rTo be fair, please don't pee on my leg and tell me it's raining. It's almost insulting that they believe that customers are dumb enough to buy that line of garbage.\r\rAre you aware of the current state of hybrid healing and do you have any plans to adjust it?\rWe have been discussing having PvP Power affect either damage or healing, depending on spec. If that's too punitive, then it could affect healing by 50% of what it does for damage.\r\rWe understand there is a lot of concern about hybrid healing in PvP, and we'll be keeping a close eye on it. Shadow, Ret, Ele etc. are intended to have some off-healing capability, but they shouldn't be able to replace a healer completely. \rThe problem is that PvP Power is garbage. It's a shame that they've created a very real balance nightmare just to appease the tears of the pve crowd.\r\rAre Koltira Deathweaver and Sylvanas Windrunner showing up in Mists of Pandaria?\rSylvanas will DEFINITELY play a role in the Alliance and Horde conflict. We might not catch up with her until one of the later patches. We've been debating on whether or not we catch up with Koltira now or later... The guy's in bad straights. \r\rI can't believe anyone actually cares about Koltira. He's been a One Man Fail-Train since he was introduced.\rAre there any plans to update older professions to be easier to level?\rYeah. Check out what we've done with Cooking and Inscription specifically. They have some good catch-up mechanics, and we'd like to weave those into the older recipes if the systems prove popular. \rCooking can be maxed out now with ease due to Pilgrims Bounty and Inscription is hardly old. Lets hope they do something about BS and LW. It's pretty frelling lame to have to be level 55 in order to be able to kill and skin mobs to gather the mats to make the gear you needed when you were level 45. As for BS. Depending on your spec, all you're able to do is mine non stop. Forget about trying to queue up for a dungeon because you'll never have the time you need to farm the mats.\r\rWhy is there a hesitation on adding new features to make things better for leveling and professions?\rFrom somebody that has worked for nine years in an effort to provide fun, thanks for being such a dedicated long-time player!\r\rWe'd definitely love to expand raid finder and scenarios to lower-level characters. There are a lot of hurdles to overcome as it relates to scaling\/tuning the content and appropriately rewarding characters of varying levels though, so it isn't something we've gotten to yet. Someday I think it'll happen. Although, we're certain to be accused of trying to pawn off "rehashed content" when we get to it. =\r\rI'm just going to assume that the wowhead department screwed up on this one. The answer doesn't match the question.\r\rWhy did Blizzard decide not to rebuild Stormwind and Orgrimmar this expansion?\rI wish I had a better response to this, but the truth is that our team was focused on making Pandaria itself absolutely beautiful. Stormwind and Orgrimmar are complex pieces of architecture, and while there's a great story reason to fix them, there's no gameplay that results from that work.\r\rI think we all want to see the gates of Stormwind patched up, but it'll take some time. Apparently the King has a bad track record with the local masons.... ;) \r\rI wish they'd just be honest and say, "We ran out of time and were forced to ship an unfinished product. Sorry guys".\rWill you add gold income to PvP? A system to find fellow teammmates? What's the state of PvP in Mists?\rHi Eldacar. Yes, a system like this is something we'd like to see. We have a variety of improvements we're planning for both rated and unrated bgs.\r\rAs for gold income, it has been considered, but isn't currently in the works. We'll see how the MoP endgame plays out before further consideration. Bear in mind I say this as a habitually broke WoW player that spends a lot of time doing PvP and would definitely benefit from it.\r\rAs for the state of PvP, 85 the numbers are kind of wild... healers heal for a ton as a percentage of a health bar and non-healers die too quickly. At 90, health pools increase more than damage does (by roughly a 3:2 ratio, although your mileage may vary), so it should be noticeably better. \r\r"We'd like to say 'no' but we just don't want to deal with the massive backlash that it would cause.
I was very pleased they finally admitted that as well. I think they must have seen how many guilds disbanded recently or seen data that showed 10-mans were simply infinitely more popular nowadays. As someone who used to raid in a world first guild, it always bugged me to see 25-mans take hit after hit. Take away our really cool realm firsts, take away our special mounts, take away any perk for doing it and it becomes a lot less easy to justify raiding 5 days a week IMO.What bothered me the most is that we never got a true answer on Blizzard's stance on the matter until now. I couldn't tell if they were just trying to phase out 25man raids in a manner that would leave them with less PR problems or otherwise. It was just depressing to no end seeing good rival 25man guilds on my server just shut down. Now there are only 2 of such large guilds on my server (am in one myself) which is probably a better count than some realms that have none. Quite frankly the state of things makes it hard to justify raiding -any- amount of days on a 25man + roster. The only thing going for 25an guilds--personally--is the community within it. People moan about the lack of community in WoW these days a lot more for various reasons, but I feel that is mostly because the large social groups that filled the void before (40\/25man raiding guilds) are now on the merry way to extinction. 10man guilds seem to me far more prone to breaking apart with the slightest bit of drama or just one person leaving. 25man guilds seem stable in comparison with the capacity to bear more blows than 10s.Shouldn't this sort of community spirit be something the game cultivates and supports?
I wish that more of the text of my question about CRZ on a PvE realm had been included. I clearly stated that it wasn't the bugs I was concerned about, it was the negative impact on server economies, the bottlenecks with gathering and questing, and the increase of antisocial behavior that accompanied a group of people thrown together randomly for no apparent reason, with no way to meaningfully interact (guilds\/server economies\/etc) and with no expectation of seeing one another again.\r\rHis response was that it was buggy and that I shouldn't cry about competition. Didn't address the question I asked at all.
