I don’t think that anything special happens when he loses his helmet. No one noticed that the Lich King does not wear his helmet on the Northrend loading screen? :0) As said before, Ner’zhul does not exist anymore. His spirit was destroyed by Arthas, so basically he is the Lich King himself now.I think it’s just a symbolic meaning, but we’ll see.
This dosn't prove that he's dead and dosn't get redememd. All this proves is that he falls over and loses is helm.It may be the end of the battle, but not of the instance.

http://www.wowwiki.com/Helm_of_Domination_(Lich_King)Take a look at that link. If the information in it is correct, then while his armor is intact, the Lich King is nearly invulnerable. While his helm is on, he can command the scourge. While Frostmourne is with him few can stand against him. In order to kill him, you have to destroy his armor, that pretty much IS the fight, I am guessing. This is the phase where, having destroyed or denied to him Frostmourne, you make him lose his helm. Then you set to work on his plate.
Doesn't the Wrath loading screen show The Lich King, with the helm off?Just curious here. Either its a bit of an artistic touch, or something more?
