Earliest WoW memory....Back in 2005 when I was a wee lvl 8, a level 60 offered to take me through RFC.I didn't know what it was at the time but he showed me where it was.He also bought me 12 slot bags! I was so happy! And then I found out why I need those bags...But I was still happy, I felt accomplished because I had acquired 1gold, 75/75 first-aid and had amde a friend!Ah... The good days <3
My fondest memory of WoW comes back from my very first character, my Human Warrior. In those days Scholomance was a 10 man instance, mount's were not available till you hit level 40, having a red beastslayer enchant on your sword was the coolest thing since sliced bread, and the battle grounds were for your realm only. I had just hit level 29 and decided to take a well deserved road trip to Kalimdor. I wanted to go and take a trip to all the horde starting zones, to see what they were like. I embarked on the long road trip from Stormwind to Mulgore in an effort to see the land of the Cows. The journey was long and treacherous, but mostly long; But it was worth it once i came close to Bloodhoof village. I was amazed that the guards were lower level than me so i wreaked havoc on the town laying waste to anyone who opposed me, until an undead came riding in on his horse and then vanished into thin air. Within seconds i was struck down by his blades numerous times. His name stuck with me; Malum. Once i finally hit 60 i started to pvp, the whole concept of Raiding was foreign to me at the time. In one fateful Warsong match i was going after a rogue who had taken our flag, it happened to be Malum. I caught up to him on my mount and i was able to down him. I had taken my revenge on him for the deaths he laid upon me when i was a noob.
I was lvl 15 sommit, 3 years ago. As a newbie druid, I wandered away from the town in Moonglade and ended up in a tunnel. I later learned that it was the Timbermaw Tunnel. In some way, I managed to get trough the tunnel and ended up in a completely different zone, Felwood. I knew nothing about the zone, and scared out of my pants of the things in the tunnel, I kept going. And ended up among infected bears at skull-level, going after me from miles away, killing me with one hit.Me, a druid fresh to the world managed to get halfway down the zone, dieing countless times on the way, when I saw a river. And I saw that it ended up in Darkshore. So I swam / jumped / suecided my way down the river to Darkshore. I can't even describe what I felt when I was safely back.I never liked Felwood since that.
omg...epic post. As for me, my fondest memory has to be of my first Kara on my shammy Solietu. Most of my guild's better players had left <RANKTHIS> for the greener pastures of a more progression focused guild or had left the game to try out Age of Conan. Nevertheless, 4 days after hitting 70, one of my RL friends in the guild set up a Kara just for me. I remember being absolutely stupified at how Blizz had set up the raid, especially the Opera event! Anyways, the other highlight of the night for me was getting my first ever epic Gloves of Quickening and having no idea what to do about those silly sockets. Sadly, <RANKTHIS> has gone the way of the record player and 8-tracks and Solietu just kind of hangs out waiting for some of his old buddies to log on and try to pug 10-mans. Still, though, great times.
Ah, the first days of Vanilla WoW - high school graduation was right around the cornor, getting to level 60 and getting a 60% land mount was considered to be an act of godliness, and I had the hair of a rock legend. (/sigh :c) Back then I was quite new to MMOs; having only played Galaxies for a few weeks before quitting from boredom, and I've only seen a small portion of WoW by watching my brother play the open beta, which was on its last legs. The first character that I've ever made was a Tauren Druid. I think I'll never forget the first time I followed the road out of Red Cloud Mesa to Bloodhoof Village. It was so amazing to see the village out in the distance, and the lake glimmering from the sunlight while wild animals wander around in a seemingly infinite green landscape. Shortly after I got a group invite from my brother, who made an undead priest. Upon looking at the map, I was like, "Woah! You're talking to me from clear across the planet! WHAT KIND OF WITCHCRAFT IS THIS! :O" Like I said, I was new to MMOs. Then I got to level 10, when it was time to learn Bear Form. I think that's another moment that I will never forget, when I had to use the teleport spell to travel clear across the continent to Moonglade. I think I nearly died from shock from doing that.
One of my oldest memories in wow was back in 2005 2 days after server birth me and a bunch of lvl 18s where just at the edge of silverpine forest and Hillsbrad Foothills. There were like 6 or 7 hordes around all @ the same level. then one started yelling, "let's go to disputed territory!". al said yeah and we started moving to Hillsbrad and suddenly the small horde icon appears on my char and we see 2 much higher lvl Allies on the road. The warrior charges 1 of them and we kill them and that was the same up to Tarren Mill. That really felt like an acomplishment that day
One of my fondest memories was running the old daily island for the first time. Because it was a interesting way to make gold that I could do regularly.
I remember when I was in the 30's back in Vanilla, running SM Armory. I figured out that my kitty could stealth ALL the way back to the door infront of Herod. So I agrod the mob there, and then my cat dissapeared. I've never seen that many mobs on my radar since then. Ever. Oh, and my group must have shat themselves.
