The fact that they sent out another one of these letters after the last one really does show that they are quite... Out of touch..
The lengths companies will go to in order to try to prevent employees from unionizing is really all you need to know about how good it is for employees to have a union.
The letter isnt terrible advice, unions dont always align with exactly what people want, as the article says, but on the whole that letter shows to me at least, that they're concerned about their workers unionizing. If they do unionize this should certainly help out not just ActiBlizz workers, but others in the games industry as a whole, because as much flack that Acti is getting at the minute, this situation certainly isnt limited to them.
Damn, of course you guys focused more on Activision's response than on the actual strike happening. Didn't even mention the crowdfund campaing. And then the rest of the article is basically "unions are cool, but consider this....". Amazing, Wowhead, simply amazing. /s
I'm all for it, Just pray we Get Bobby out of office along those that mess thing up and Thing get better at Blizzard that all I praying for.
This is the exact same tactic that happened to me when I was working as a bomb dog handler in NYC. The company did not want the handlers to unionize and made every effort to come to all the sites with big lawyers and try the intimidation tactic. End Result: Class action lawsuit filed against the company AND the unionization of the bomb dog handlers....Blizz will not win....
The list of legal actions by management spelling out the acronym "FOE" just puts David Mitchell's voice in my head, asking, "Are we the baddies?"Thank you for the thorough write up.
The idiots asking to unionize, are basically asking to get fired and replaced by foreign/out-of-state labor. Happened with autoworkers, with fast food, now these idiots are going to try it. I predict that they will all get fired, then ABK will hire non-union workers for cheaper and possibly move it out of California due to the idiotically high taxes and labor costs in that State.
