so, is there anything special to be gained by partecpipating in the zombie thing? because if not let's just opt out at the healer and it's fine
It's chaos but it's not fun at all.
Thank god this event for failed WPvPers only lasts a week. There's a reason it was cut short by two weeks last time during the WotLK pre-event.
Great news, you can not play for a week for the game you pay a monthly fee to play! What a better answer than making it optional! Some people don't like this event and that is ok. Some people do like this event and that is ok. Telling people not to play a pay to play game because a forced pvp event makes them unhappy is not the answer.
This...this is why there must always be a Lich King. Without its master's command, the restless Scourge is running rampant over this land.
Gotta love the lore = Gameplay excuse that griefers and trolls use to harass other players, it was a garbage event during Wrath where Blizz was giving free game time to players because nobody was playing because of the event and its a lazy rehash of an old event with the legion prepatch and yes even the garbage BfA prepatch was better than this.Blizzard even said it would be opt in but as usual they lied and now its chaos.
Wow so many toxic posts! Wait, are we sure the event is the real plague in all this :DPersonally I'm not into the event that much, but it does make me smile. Haven't had to deal with it yet. Hopefully it's not nearly as bad as it sounds. For the Alliance!
IF they held to the "you need to have warmode on to participate" I'd shut up and let those who wanted to be zombies do so.But the fact that I CANNOT make that choice means that I basically don't get to play (or have my playtime extremely limited) for a week. A week I pay for, no matter what.A week wherein I can't finish up things I wanted to finish up before Shadowlands launch... because the griefers' game is apparently more important that mine. Thanks Blizz, really appreciate knowing how much you value those of us who want to play the game and not make others miserable.(And yes I felt the same way about the damn WotLK event, which was also made horrendous by griefers and general *!@#$%^s).
This is how you handle getting infected.1 - Get infected.2 - Take a minute to die or get cleansed.3 - Minor annoyance. No big deal - back to playing the way you want.Rinse and repeat. Not a big problem.
So I'm not all about greifing, wpvp is really fun and raiding capital cities or towns is also, but repeatative camping the same player is not cool. That being said the sourge event is great, shame its only for a week. Just trying to take over towns and see how far you can spread it and to what volume is cool, wpvp aside. Even better now than in Wrath with the group finder system. Here is everything I've learned on how to be a zombie. Hoping people will join in and enjoy the event, you don't need to camp players but why not spread the scourge and eat some npc brains at least.Zombie guide:(Horde side perspective as I dont play Ally)Get naked. No really save your armor durability, take it off before you start. You can get infected several ways. Being attacked by infected scourge npc or player, standing in the green stuff they spit or being killed by the infected will do it. Infected only spawn in Org and SW.If there are no infected around yet, go to the Org rear gate (the right side one on map) and stand on/under the demos. I assume Stormwind has a similar area but not sure. You will get a 30min debuff. At 10 stacks you get a 60sec infected debuff, 60secs later you will turn. Take that 60secs to find a good spot to create your zombie horde. You can hearth, port, use teleport items (like Daz ring, Kara ring, Black Temple neck etc.) You can also be summoned while infected. Or just stay in the area. If you stay in Org or SW avoid the argent healers around town unless you have a large group. They will two shot you. While infected or turned do not take a zeplin, when the zeplin zones out you will insta die. Haven't tried the zeplin to TB but it doesn't actually zone out so you may be ok. I would think Ally boat work the same as the zeplins. Also fyi the zeplin guards if attacked will shoot you with a annoying knockback attack.Do not go directly to a sanctuary area (like Shatt or Darlaran). When you turn in a sacturary nothing happens, you just die and pop right back to life like you ressed. You can however turn outside the area and then run in. You can attack and turn npcs like normal in the sanctuaries. Side note I had a good sized infected npc army in Shatt, eventually died, tried to get reinfected by said army but due to the cant turn in a sanctuary and auto res, my army killed me ... on repeat ... 20times in a row as I tried to run and got eaten every two steps till I got clear. As a zombie you have 5 abilites. Normal attack, spit bile, call nearby zombies, sprint and explode. Attacking infects and puts a stacking damage debuff on your target. Bile leaves a pool that stacks the 30min debuff (same as the demos). Explode does a aoe infect and kills you.Sprint will make you and all other nearby zombies sprint, player or npc. So a 4man player zombie group can rotate sprints and basically nonstop run to cross entire zones quickly. Also as a zombie you don't take any fall damage. So go ahead and dive off any cliff.I don't belive you will need to worry about breathing under water either but I was on a undead character to start with so need to confirm. While a zombie you will have a debuff that says something about needing to feed. Basically your life will slowly tick down unless your doing your job and eating brains. It's really slow, you have plenty of time to roam.Attacking and killing npcs will spawn a npc zombie that will last for two minutes. Some npcs have a fast respawn and are ideal to mass up a zombie horde. You don't necessary need a raid group to take over smaller cities.I've found three good npc targets so far. The mooncloth vender in Shatt lower city, also the guards in Shatt middle ring (like outside the center hub) where there are 16 guards together. In Daz port area west of the warfront table, at the turtle cave, the turtle to the left outside of cave. Like most npcs they will create a zombie on death but these instant respawn ... so you can build up a zombie army super fast that will quickly be self substaining. Since the instant vendor/guard respawn the zombies will attack and kill them faster than they can die off and will grow exponentially. This also tends to happen at that rear gate to Org, literally are like 10k npc zombies there on my server. One other interesting spot is skull rock cave east of Org near the dock. Go there as a zombie and do your thing. After several kill you get a debuff that will turn into the fel domination buff and give you a cool temporary cosmetic.Have fun đŸ˜†
I don't enjoy it. I had no idea this was a thing until I logged in today and had it happen in Icecrown while I was killing the bosses. I had no idea what to do. I was just confused and upset. I would like something to counteract this thing. I was like "I'm stressed, let me play some WoW. Oh goody, now WoW is stressing me out." I just want the Blue Proto Drake and that bag!
