Maybe Wrathion won't be such a lame character this time. In his initial appearance, he was just some special snowflake among special snowflake rogues. He wasn't interesting in the slightest. In Pandaria, the only things we got from him were annoying fans shipping him with Anduin, him getting extremely mad over nothing, and memes about those ugly cloaks. In BfA, he's the spotlight hero since his dead pops was the plaything of an ancient octopus. He also suddenly got lips you'd only see on a fashion model. The heck was that about? Hopefully in Dragonflight, where he'll finally be relevant in (hopefully) a decent manner, he'll not feel like some goofy character inserted for the sake of adding an extra voice. Dude's got twilight dragons, chromatic dragons, and void dragons under his wing now, all rescued from their terrible fates, so there's definitely room for some kind of interesting advancement. I really hope these mutant offshoots of the multiple flights get some prominence here, and Wrathion is the one who has the key to this. Please don't let Wrathion be a joke yet again. Also please fix his face Blizzard. Dude looks weird with those emphasized and artificial lips. It looks unnatural, even for the new plastic art direction. No need for heavily outlined lips; that's not how lips even work.@HobnobsLegendary dragon skin. Calling it now.
Please don't let Wrathion lead the black dragonflight he is way too young! We have to choice between a 5 yo dragon or a 10 000+ yo dragon Ebonhorn who literally lived in Deathwing's old lair. Go Ebonhorn!
All the info aside, did they ever mention when we can pre-order?Previous expansions it was after reveal at blizzcon, well it was revealed...
His the perfect anti-hero hoping doin some wild things keep the story flesh. compared to us the perfect paragon who always do the right thing
I don't mind which characters are going to take forefront during this expansion... Just make sure their stories make sense in-game and you don't need a book to understand what on earth is going on with them.
I strongly believe he'll awake and lead Dracthyr characters through their starting experience, as they were his father's creation
Patch 10.3 - Old Gods again..again..again
The lore will come out when it comes out, why ask these kinds of questions now?
I wonder if the son of Deathwing would be interested in seeing Deathwing's perfect soldiers?I could def see a Demon Hunter level starting experience for them, beginning 10,000 years in the past and reawakening in the present.
Bit worrying when the main lore developer doesn't even remember Sabellian and his entire faction still being alive.. Ebyssian and Wrathion are far from the only black dragons still alive
I really want them to flesh out his relationship with Anduin more. They’re basically the opposite sides of the same coin right down to the daddy issues and the shouldering of burdens beyond their age trope. Their dynamic has so much untapped potential. It would certainly make for a much more entertaining storyline than the tired old Jaina/Thrall duo.
I feel like all of this character development for Wrathion is going to feel hollow without Anduin. Anduin was the first person who gave him a chance and his first real friend. They have one of the most interesting dynamics of any two characters in WoW. Their personalities play off eachother so well, which is... uh, rare to happen in WoW without seeming forced.I'm really excited for Wrathion content, I just wish they weren't shelving Anduin for all of it. Wrathion has promises to keep.Edit: Also, I hope he gives us a legendary cloak. It would just be funny at this point.
