During this time, you may encounter slow or failed logins and be unable to complete purchases in-game and through the Battle.net Shop. We expect the service to be fully available again at approximately 9:00 CEST.

Realm restarts will be on Wednesday, 6th October between 3:00 CEST and 4:00 CEST, 15 minutes in-game notice will be given.

Scheduled maintenance will be on Wednesday, 6th October from 22:00 CEST until 23:00 CEST. During this time, the game will be unavailable for play.

This is weird, would be nice to get some sort of reason for it.

This time the enrage is justified, most people keep playing this game for the raid and plan their days so they can have the reset day evening free for raiding.

It's not something you can plan or replan from one day to another since it requires 20 people schedules to come together.

Hope they can revert this mantainance and postpone it or this will surely backfire

Comment by Ahmara

It's not that this hasn't been on the log-in screen/ battle net launcher since the weekend and there was enough time to plan ahead this time.

It's really not.

OMG, I'm so mad about this. I don't even wanna raid and now raid night is canceled! This is terrible... :(

As someone who only raid logs at this point and wednesday being one of the days when I play this just means I'll have more time for the other game I'm playing. If Blizzard wants to %^&* with only people who are still playing the game (raiders) then good luck to them

Well I wanted to finish my weekly m+ vault, screw me I guess

I doubt this will go through tho. It just looks like a mistake.

I'm glad raiding on thursday but planning a raid can't be changed within 4 days. I don't understand why they could not at least postpone that maintenance by a couple of hours so that'd be less of an inconvenience.

Or do they want raiders to become RP players ? Because I feel like Blizzard does not like us.

Comment by MysticBard

For everyone mocking ppl affected by this:
This is not an emergency issue, it has been announced for some days now. So there is little to none reason to schedule it at that exact time, when some hours ago there would be the weekly regular maintenance, and also some hours after that it will be 3-4-5 server time (early Thursday) where very few ppl play. Picking this time for a non-emergency reason is not logical.
And also, re-scheduling is not easy. When you have to meet 15-20 raiders schedule, even knowing it 4 days ago, chances are that some of them won't be able to adjust their schedules at all and considering we are probably mid-patch lot of guilds may only raid once per week ...

I doubt this will go through tho. It just looks like a mistake.

I don't believe it's a mistake. This has been up since weekend, and already ppl on reddit etc have expressed their dislike but nothing changed. Maybe wowhead posting this too will make more ppl aware and finally blizz change this ? Maybe. But a wowhead post should not been needed for blizz to realize this is bad (actually it should not have been scheduled at all at that time, but whatever ...)

20 people? i think you miscounted and left 5 other people out

It's on a Wednesday, you'll have the entire week to fill out your vault?

20 people? i think you miscounted and left 5 other people out

This isn't Wrath anymore, it's 20 people.

Comment by couchpotato2013

Came in here seeing the behavior I expected given the type of people still playing over there. Behavior which is cringe and hyperbolic.

Maintenance is maintenance and is given when it is needed. That is that.

Server is usually up 15 mins after restart, you'll be fine.

I don't get the hate here. Unless they specify a reason, it's all guesswork from our side. Might be a technical issue that forces their hands. It might Karen from testing that's getting her hair done, so they have to postpone. We just don't know.

What we do know, is that maintenance is sorely needed, because otherwise they wouldn't mess with raiding primetime.

Calm down people. Spend another hour doing something else. Watch another movie. Go walk your dog again. It's really not the end of the world - even for us raiders.

How so? It's a scheduled maintenance it's not some emergency fix they are doing, they could literally schedule it on any other day of the week or during night since they always do this things during night hours. If people can't raid during reset day it will 100% backfire and while I usually don't condone free enrage towards devs or blizzard since they are offering a product and they are free to do what they like with their product, messing with people personal schedules with little forewarning is bad.

The fact that it happens during general EU raid time to me hints that it can't be scheduled to any other time. We don't know what the reason is behind it, but it would be ridiculous to assume that the devs don't know that this is a bad time to take the servers down. That then means that the devs would avoid scheduling a maintenance at that time if they could possibly avoid it. Since we still have a maintenance at that time, they clearly can't avoid it.

It's been forewarned since the weekend. And we talk about one. fricking. hour. of inconvenience... So: finish your raid evening early, start it late, or have a 1 hour break. Even if some players only log in for their raiding night, surely there are others who still play other stuff in the game - and they can contact their raid group - there are such things like WoW Companion App, Discord text channels and so on.

Sometimes I think that people are forgetting that WoW is only a game. Stop taking it too serious! And if you do take it serious: well, you know about the time frame now and can contact your raid members.

So, no, it's really not justified.

Honestly I think it's just a misplan, if you go to their twitter and follow their link for the schedule it shows that is for blizzard services, it's not wow related, so it might be a bnet update on the backend side, something for in-game shop and so on. It could have been issued by some manager that maybe doesn't know that it's a bad time at all.

This is what I hope at least and while I know it's just a game and that my evening will roll out just as fine it's just a bad move. I'm just sad I can't now reschedule a D&D session I postponed :(
