I like wintersveil, a lot of my families birthdays (including mine) fall into this season. I always liked the winter and snowy seasons too.
Brewfesht....hic
Favorite holiday on Azeroth would definitely have to be Feasts of Winterveil. Without a doubt. Christmas has always been my favorite holiday since I could remember. It's not the presents, or the idea of Santa, it's the colors. Especially on the Christmas tree. As a kid I would wake up as early as I could, trying to be the first one up, so I could take in the sight of the multi-colored lights draped with tinsel and homemade ornaments, flowing with gifts and having the satisfaction that the first moments of Christmas morning was mine. I first started playing wow back in December 2008, and my first experience on Azeroth was Winterveil. Seeing that giant tree in Orgrimmar, decorated with lights, barbed wire, and skulls made me grin ear to ear. Learning that wow celebrated holidays during the actual holidays was a big thumbs up for me and one of the main reasons I continue to play.
Gotta be Winter Veil! The whole feel of the game changes during this time - moreso than any other holiday event in my opinion. When I think of WoW, often times I think of Christmas time - with snow outside and nothing else to do but curl up with the computer and some friends and just enjoy the game.
I have to be a bit on the cheap side and 'fess up that Hallow's End is my favorite holiday. I mean, what more could you ask for? Every candy bucket you stick your filthy hand into grants you guild experience and gold! It doesn't get much better than that, especially when you're waiting for the slow crawl of guild leveling. We got a guild level out of candy buckets, and I raised several hundred gold from them all, enough to buy more useless crap I don't need. What else is great about Hallow's End? Well, here's a list on all of the things I think are AMAZING about this holiday.1) All of the Sinister Squashling companions. Have you ever wondered what it was like to have a bag full of blue pets you can't use, because the last two years in a row, you already got forty of them? The way they make your bag slots look so... blue... it's just amazing. I think typing "delete" fifteen times in the span of three weeks is lots of fun!2) Magic Brooms. When you open your bag and see a flying broom in it, you shriek, because you realize how great it is that it was a broom and not a Headless Horseman's Mount! It's the perfect shade of "not epic" to match the color of all of your unused Squashling pets. They just go together, like a symphony of total not-suckage, because it doesn't totally suck!3) Masks. Getting tired of your own character's stupid face? Make it look BETTER by putting a stretched out piece of plastic over it! That way, you won't just look like a Worgen, but a Worgen that laid its face down in front of a speeding Semi Truck! And that is just great! Who wouldn't want to look like roadkill?4) Candy. Remember the good old days? When G.N.E.R.D.S actually did something? Those were the dark ages! Now you get to look like a total bad ass via a light bulb over your head! And now, when the opposing faction ganks you while you have the G.N.E.R.D.S buff on, the achievement won't make any sense! And I think that's wonderful!5) Your dumbass, moron, idiot friend gets the Headless Horseman's Mount! You know, that one that doesn't collect mounts? That same guy that didn't even know a mount dropped from the bag? I love that guy. What's great about that guy is that he didn't even have to run it EVERY DAY, EVERY HALLOW'S END, FOR THREE YEARS to get it, and you still don't own one! What's even greater is that he knows you want it, so he treats you like crap, then quits the game a month later. Love that guy. What would holidays be without him?6) Achievement points. You get some for barfing! Now that's epic! Not only that, but if you do enough, you get a really awesome title called "The Hallowed," because it makes sense! You should be considered holy, enshrined, and divine for eating too much candy and puking all over yourself like a drunken prom date!7) Dumping water buckets on buildings engulfed in flames. I love doing that, especially when I'm alone! I really love a challenge! The way my character hobbles slowly back and forth like her leg is broken, from the water to the building, is so much fun to watch, especially when I first wake up in the morning! What makes it even greater is the Horseman, who is flying around laughing at me the whole time. Man, that's fun!8) Weighted Jack o' Lanterns. I absolutely love going AFK in my capital city and coming back to a pumpkin on my head. I love surprises, especially Halloween ones! What's disappointing is that it covers my AWESOME flat, plastic Worgen roadkill mask, and I don't want that.9) The nursery rhymes. I love hearing that little ditty every time I fight the Horseman, especially when I have to wait for him to finish it before he becomes attackable! The fact that you have to hear it every time makes it that much better of a fight, because you realize that there could be nothing better you could do with your time. I love hearing his voice in my sleep, too. I rest easy during Halloween.10) Tricky Treat vendors. Remember those LAME days when you got fifty Squashlings a week? Now, just in case you didn't get enough of them, you can buy them with candy! In fact, you can buy everything, making it so much better knowing that you had to work for all of it before they activated such a system! I love getting candy I can use as currency, because the last time I ate it, I puked. Now, doesn't Hallow's End sound like the greatest holiday? I can't wait until another one happens next year, and I cheer with joy when I lose out on another Mount, and maybe they'll offer achievement points for developing a debilitating eating disorder!Happy Halloween, to you, and your dumbass friend!
My favourite holiday: Winter Veil.I absolutely love Christmas, and Winter Veil is Christmas in WoW :) I remember when they first started doing these holidays and when the Christmas one came up, I was so excited to see that the holiday I love the most in real life was represented in my favourite game. Sorta made it even more enjoyable to log on as it was Christmas everywhere I went :D
I have always really enjoyed the celebrations that they have for Christmas. Over the years the quests have become more and more interesting. I am looking forward to this year, as well. =D
I like Pirate's Day, it may be a new event without a lot of fluff, but it really puts me in the pillaging mood! And honestly, who DOESN'T like to talk like a pirate?
My favorite holiday is Brewfest. I love everything about it. From running through town on a ram advertising the breweries, to defending the giant kegs of beer from the assaults of the Dark Iron dwarves. Going deep into Black-rock Depths to face off with Corin for trinkets and mounts, dancing around Dalaran drunk, even leaping off Thunderbluff totally smashed praying there's a paladin around to catch me. Upholding the traditions of the Pandaren's, and taking part in the dwarves favorite sport of seeing who can get drunk the fastest. Brewfest is a fun holiday with so much in it, even seeing the wagons appear in front of town filled full of giant kegs ready to be unloaded and emptied into our steins excites me to no end knowing that Brewfest is soon to come, and when I want to take a break and settle down for a bit, I fill my stein, and head out to spend some time with the pink Elekks, or chasing down the wolpertingers to pet their fuzzy little vampire-rabbit-deer-bird behinds.
Pilgrim's Bounty must be my favourite because ever 7th year it lands on my B-day, and i love the Sharing is Caring. Do to all the food at all tables.
Winter's Veil, it was the one that always brought both the Horde and Alliance communities together for snowball fights, reindeer parades, and silly winter themed snowninja costumes on my server back in vanilla, when we were a low population backwater so everyone knew everyone.
Pilgrim's Bounty. Turning people into turkeys is one of the best things.
My favorite is Hallow's End. When Halloween rolls around and I search my closet for my next costume, I start to create images in my mind about what I want to look like for Halloween. I might not have a closet in World of Warcraft, but I can show some of the creativity that sparks during this time of year off to other people in another way; Costumes! Wands, Hallow's End Pumpkin Treat, and who can forget the ever-popular masks? 'Tis not the prizes that makes one a winner, 'tis the friendship that we show towards others that makes us true winners.(not that I don't want to win the prizes or anything.) In short, I get poetic when I get sleepy! (haha, I just LOVE Hallow's End and all it's spooky, creative glory!)
