World of Warcraft: Forever Highilghts Launch Dungeons in New Blizzard Video

Posted 4 hr 31 min ago by Squishei

Sits beneath the Throne of Ironforge.

For Alliance characters, similar to Ragefire Chasm for Horde.

Dark Iron Dwarves have tunneled into the halls to loot Ironforge Kings.

Restless spirits also haunt the halls.

The entire dungeon plays out across the castle and is crawling with Undead.

This dungeon shows off Forever's new lighting system.

The entire dungeon sits outdoors, so the fog, lighting and shadows are highlighted.

A dwarven expedition came out here to dig and things went sideways. Players are tasked with finding out what happened.

This dungeon features tall grass which raptors nest in; some of them are stealthed.

Buff mob XP!

Ironic because they're doing everything possible to disincentivize people from doing dungeons.

Apparently it's the wrong way to socialize and/or level

They are doing it to make dungeon boosting less appealing. I don't think this is the way to make that work and there are other things that can be done to help, or completely prevent it. Such as when a player is in the dungeon that is X levels above a dungeon enemy level, everyone in the group gets 0 xp.

ROCK HARD - These look fantastic

Looks great. I remember discovering Blackfathom Depths in vanilla. The journey to get there was amazing, and the bottleneck to the entrance felt like it's own battleground a lot of the time. The dungeon felt epic, too. I don't recall running it time and time again thinking about whether questing or dungeoning was more efficient. It was just fun and challenging.

Nerf dungeon XP (again plz).

Comment by NemesisWiberg

We need a stockade version for Horde, and no Ruins of Lordean is not it since it has an entrance for alliance.

so the fog, lighting and shadows are highlighted.

The fog that we cannot toggle off anymore because the /console VolumeFog command got forcefully disabled.

Please blizz, I don't want to play World of Fogcraft where the game looks like a ps1 game with how much fog is all around you everywhere.

you still CAN level through dungeons exclusively, they didnt remove your ability to do it, they dont tell you "you shouldnt do this" or "this is wrong" they are just saying "if you WANT to do this, its not going to be the fastest way to level"

If you care about leveling in a relatively timely fashion whatsoever, taking time out of questing to form a group, haul everyone to the dungeon, and hope that there's no wipes and/or no one has to bail or rage quits during the time it takes to do the run is just the wrong choice to make.

The strat will be to do it one time with the quest and then never again because doing so will just gut any experience gains.

Dungeons should give more EXP because they require more time and energy than afk questing.

I've run Hall of Thanes successfully one time. It took three attempts, about 8 total runs back (which are awful) and was very frustrating. That said, I did come away with a nice piece of gear, and the problems were the other players. (DCs, giving up, tank didn't even have a shield, did not hold aggro for even a single pull.)

But... darn it... I love dungeons, and find myself hyped for this. Are dungeons my new camping? (Camping: Something really fun to think about that can be miserable while it's in progress.)

Comment by sammion

Also ironic because there is literally nothing social about questing.

Spoken like someone who has never done Elite quests.

Comment by Mightylink

These will be fun only once and then I'll never do them again because it's slower than questing.

its a shame blizzard scrapped all SoD ideas for this uninspiring lazy slop, they refused to copy pservers and abandoned their own ideas, im really puzzled by their questionable decisions. Its either they have no clue what they are doing or out of touch streamers have too much influence over design of forever.
