I don't play Forsaken enough to know all the lore but I do know a little but others have a better perspective on the Leadership, but lets see what plays out in DF
Hoping that at least the Storm and Nether dragons get recognized.
If they decide to kill off Nozdormu hopefully they'll remember his heir is Anachronos not Chromie. They have a tendency to kill characters off and replace them with the obvious choices (Rastakhan and Talanji). Anachronos hasn't seen much prominence since classic so it'll be a good time to develop him.
Calia is obviously the futur of the forsakenand it's a needed one.The forsaken needs a new direction like wow needs to be fresh from time to time.Calia is an opportunity for both new stories, and also another kind of vibe of the undead trope: the frankenstein/romantic/tim burton one.
"You see the Kingdom of Lordaeron. That has nothing to do with the remaining heir to the throne of Lordaeron. Blizzard just forces things into -blah blah blah" The Forsaken saw her, while she was alive and fighting for them despite their damned appearance, and KNELT! Sylvanas saw the one true remaining heir to the crown and immediately killed her. The Light resurrected her (Which will come with it's own complications later down the road), and so now she too is undead. Should Calia Menethil take charge of the Forsaken? She actually passed on that offer and instead Lilian Voss has been taking that seat on the council. But would it make sense for Calia to lead the Lordaeron Undead?100% it would. Also, if there is a 100 year gap in history and you fill that with lore, it's not a retcon. It's information you were unaware of. Did you think the story was "And then everyone sat very still for thousands of years...."
The way Danuser talks about Wrathion and Ebonhorn's "unique" relationship and exploring things they've never seen before together... I'm getting strong homosexual vibes from this. It wouldn't surprise me if Blizzard's writing team went that direction and I look forward to seeing the reaction from the WoW community when it's put in front of them.
