Sinfall
Introduction to the Venthyr Covenant
The questline starts with Prince Renathal in
Sinfall
. Renathal will then ask for you to pledge your loyalty to the Venthyr Covenant in
The Court of Harvesters
, where you will permanently learn the Covenant ability
Door of Shadows
. During the dialogue with Renathal, we learn that Denathrius is still at large, which means the campaign will start before the Castle Nathria raid.
Prince Renathal: You may question why are we willing to impart our power onto a mortal, though you are no ordinary <race>, are you?
Prince Renathal: No, you can breach the boundaries of the Maw with ease, something that even the oldest venthyr are unable to do.
Prince Renathal: That ability alone would make you perfect for my plan, but there's so much more to you, isn't there?
Prince Renathal: It will never be enough to simply defeat Denathrius, we must also break his hold on Revendreth.
Prince Renathal: His grasp on this realm comes from the medallions he created, each containing a fraction of his power, given to subordinates that would obey without question.
Prince Renathal: We must secure thee medallions, and with them, user a new era that would see Revendreth return to its true purpose.
The Accuser: I distinctly remember hearing of such a plan many years ago, Renathal, before the master's true intentions were known...
Prince Renathal: Be that as it may, Accuser, this is the path we must pursue.
Prince Renathal: Now, take your place beside me.
Prince Renathal: The Maw Walker has agreed to join our cause. We will hear their oath, and welcome them into the rebellion.
After pledging our oath to the Venthyr, we teleport to the lower levels of Sinfall in
Sacred Covenant
, where we discover Revendreth's anima conductor. In
Anima Awakening
, we undergo a ritual to permanently learn the
Venthyr Class Ability
.
Prince Renathal: Please take your place when you are ready to begin.
Prince Renathal: You stand before the Court of Harvesters, willing and able to accept our gift.
Prince Renathal: Help us return Revendreth to its true purpose.
Prince Renathal: Help us rid this realm of a tyrant whose actions threaten all of reality.
Prince Renathal: This gift of power will be yours, so long as you remain loyal to our cause.
Soulbind: Nadjia the Mistblade
After learning both Venthyr Covenant abilities, we're then asked to join the Accuser at the Forge of Bonds in
Shared Souls
. The Accuser will then introduce you to soulbinding in
Binding Power
. The Accuser tells us that although a soulbinding ritual is not permanent, it is not one to be taken lightly.
Nadjia the Mistblade
then becomes our first Venthyr Soulbind. After we accept Nadjia as our first Soulbind, we then strengthen our bond with her in
Strenghtening the Bond
, where we choose our first Soulbind trait. In this menu, we can also see the other two Soulbinds you can obtain with the Venthyr,
General Draven
and
Theotar the Mad Duke
.
We then seek Tactician Sakka in
Work Not Wasted
, where we learn how to direct our covenant forces to places in Revendreth we cannot be at. In
Advancing our Efforts
, we learn about the Venthyr Scouting Map, the Shadowlands equivalent to the mission table.
The Court
Now that we have learned the basics of our new covenant, we can actually do some work! We're asked to go to Prince Renathal in
Our True Purpose
and go to Soul Warden Teneval for Maw related business in
Souls to Save
.
Our True Purpose
Renathal asks us to start working on our hold in Revendreth by planting banners around Darkwall Tower in
Common Ground
. General Draven disagrees with Renathal's tactics, and asks you to revive one of his commanders, Chelra of the Bladewall, who was last seen around Darkwall Tower in
The Princeguard
.
After placing the banners, Renathal tells us that the banners actually work as catalysts for spells, meant to turn Darkwall Tower into a protected zone. Renathal then sends us to invite some new venthyr for the rebellion in
Invitation for the Countess
,
Invitation for the Tithelord
and
Invitation for the Stonewright
. These quests will send you to different parts of Revendreth, in order to recruit these venthyr for the cause.
Invitation for the Stonewright
We meet once again with General Draven, who helps us gain an audience with the current
Harvester of Wrath
, although he fears this will likely not end well. As we move towards the bridge to the Harvester of Wrath, stoneborne NPCs attack us, with Draven offering us some defense. After we pass the Stonewright's trials, we talk to her about pledging to Renathal. Although first a bit adamant, The Stonewright is convinced to at least give Prince Renathal the time of the day.
The Stonewright: So, Draven, you continue to serve Prince Renathal, despite his many failures.
General Draven: Mother of Stone, I serve Revendreth. At this time, the Dark Prince is the only one who has a plan to best do that. With this Maw Walker's help, we may undo the Master's blind devotion to the Jailer and the Maw.
The Stonewright: Very well, I shall see what Renathal has to say. If nothing else, perhaps I might end this pointless struggle that has my children fighting each other.
Invitation for the Countess
To earn an audience with the Countess, we go with the assistant Cudgelface. We then disguise ourselves as a Venthyr servant in
Harvester of Desire
, where we are instructed to simply act like one and not draw any attention until we get to The Countess. She is amused with the invitation and gladly accepts it.
Why are you interrupting my shmoozing and hob nobbery?
> Deliver Prince Renathal's invitation.
---
The Countess: An invitation from Prince Renathal? How delicious. I simply cannot miss this.
Invitation for the Tithelord
For the Tithelord, we go to Nadjia the Mistblade, who mentions that the Tithelord is too impulsive and maybe a bit dangerous for us or her to talk with. She instead tells us to send the stone fiend Temel to talk with him in
Harvester of Envy
. We take control of Temel and use him to get to the Tithelord, who seems aware of what Renathal is trying to do.
The Tithelord: What is this?
The Tithelord: So, the Dark Prince is making his move to usurp the throne? I suppose someone of character should be there to stop him.
The Harvester Meeting
After gathering all the Harvesters, we then return to Renathal and witness his meeting with the invited harvesters in
The Court
via a cinematic. However, this meeting does not go well, as Renathal is shot down by all three of them. He has nothing to offer to the Harvesters in exchange for their allegiance.
Prince Renathal: With the medallions combined, we can seize control of Revendreth.
The Tithelord: You mean YOU could seize control. These are merely the ravings of a selfish prince desperate to reclaim his former glory.
Prince Renathal: The bargain between Denathrius and the Jailer will leave us all to be consumed by the Maw.
Prince Renathal: I want our ways to survive. If that makes me selfish, I would hope you are all selfish as well.
The Stonewrought: None of your grand words matter. You cannot defeat both the Jailer and the Master.
The Stonewrought: I will not subject my stoneborn children to further suffering.
The Tithelord: I've heard enough. This usurper demands our medallions but offers nothing.
The Countess: Why Renathal, if only you had shown such passion ages ago! I find it positively enthralling.
The Countess: But I must agree with the others. You lack... leverage.
Soulbind: Theotar the Mad Duke
After we return to Sinfall, Theotar offers to soulbind with us in
Kindred Spirits
.
After this, the storyline quests seemingly come to an end, but according to the
Venthyr Campaign
, we still have 6 more chapters to go through in the Venthyr Covenant storyline.
