Ok this is fine, nothing wrong with this. Mmo needs to have grinds. Hopefully we get that patch release date today
that is stupid move by blizzard ( 55 days ).
Wait so the mount is in the paragon bag, NOT the vendor? AAARRRGHGH BLIZZ WHY
For me, the real problem with this expansion (as well as the last few expansions) has been system upon system upon system upon system. Not only that, but new systems added and old systems changed mid-expansion. It's daunting to contemplate stepping away for even a few months, only to come back and not really know what the game is anymore. I yearn for the days when the game loop consisted of leveling followed by dungeons and raids for gear. I don't need all of this artificial tedium, seemingly designed only to keep the mythical 'player engagement' numbers looking good during the investor calls.
So yet another patch where maintaining an alt will just require way more time and effort than I have to give to this game. Guess I will just keep raid logging on main then. Alt friendly expansion, kekw. Also a real shame because being forced to go to world zones and grind out every rare and quest every day for months or risk falling behind is exactly why I haven't returned to Korthia since I finished my grind. I like mindless grinding when it's for cosmetics and optional, but forcing it upon us with a fat helping of no catch up for lost days just means I will burn out and never play that content again.
Getting to exalted is supposed to take 30 days tops on average. From the wording it seems that the commendations will be possible for the Enlightened too, so hopefully it brings it down to a more manageable (or grind-able) rep.
I guess the question is just how long players should be expected to do dailies and kill rares every single day in each new patch. Personally I feel like 1 month is about right. Two months feels like WAY too long. And even longer if the Wowhead calcs assume we're killing 29 rares every day.IMO, the devs are making the exact same mistake as with the Archivists in 9.1. The new player-friendly Blizzard should correct this before release. Will they? Who knows?
seems a bit heavy on the grind tbh - 5 weeks where you'll feel like you're still stuck in 9.1 is eh
Indeed, and 55 days is almost eight weeks. And that also assumes you're killing 29 rares. Every single day.
The reusable augment rune is also at exalted, that's something raiders will want. Also a bunch of cosmetics including a mount, which will incentivize a lot of people.
55, forced, days for a rep... yeah, no thanks. I get this isn't exactly mandatory, but still...WoW became big not because it had mandatory grinds back in vanilla, but because it was a rich world, with rich lore, that people wanted to spend time in. So the argument that Blizzard needs to place these timegates in the game, so that people don't rush them and unsub, falls flat on its face. This is Blizzard, again, solving their own profit problems (by mandating a minimum of 2 resubs/tokens to complete content), over investing in solving customer problems (theme-park world with little-to-no dynamic, on-rail storytelling and no player agency).I mean... correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't seem to recall people raiding faction capitals, back in the day, because of loot drops. Just as an example.
