That one time I fell off the Maw, curtesy of trolling druid as always, my body conveniently appeared at the edge of where I was thrown from.Maybe this is a bug and that GM just happened to be an idiot? This has happened before with other tickets I've opened. GMs just being really unhelpful with an actual technical problem, I keep marking my problem as "unresolved" or whatnot, eventually what appears to be clearly a senior GM shows up and solves the problem straight away. Hope you get your stygia back.
Of course it's not working as intended. Blizzard are just too lazy to fix it.
This ain't new knowledge. Just don't die in the Maw. Also don't log out there either.
Blizzards design philosophy for the Maw seems to have been to make a zone that punishes the player for going there as it’s Hell. In that success the Maw is a huge success. I’m just not sure why anyone didn’t actually ask why anyone would want to go there if they did that. It’s like they made an area that’s terrible to play with terrible rewards and wonder why people hate it and don’t go there. Realistically I don’t know a single person who enjoys it (I know people will now reply and say they do) and I would love to see the playing metrics for anything beyond doing the absolute bare minimum each week.
Lol, of course it's working as intended. I'm usually not a Blizz defender (and I'm still not), but the guy died out of the map, in the void.So he lost stygia, that's it. The only "bug" is the floating corpse here. His body should be into void depths and he shouldn't be able to see it.So stop crying for nothing. You died, it's your entirely fault. Wanna play this %^&*ty zone, assume then.
Aaand this is why I can't be bothered with the maw at all.
Its not getting players to love the zone thats for sure. When you die Activison Blizzard steal your Stygia - but allow you to claim your body but 9 out 10 times people are getting killed by way to powerfull Elites and when you try to recover it you have an even bigger chance of dying again so alot just takes the stygia loss. Simple fix: Put spirit healers up in the zone and remove the Stygia loss when dying. Also allow mounting up in the zone. Problem solved.Atleast they nerfed Torgast so you now can complete your runs there.
In other words "cba fixing it". Literally an X/Y corpse spawn location that takes seconds to fix on a sandbox server. Falling off the edge should not result in death if you cannot recover your currency after. Rip to all fellow mages that have blinked through solid terrain and were not able to recover a corpse from underground either. Clearly a bug but they still cba even after submitting a video and screenshots of it happening.
Population doesn't drop for no reason.
I know it is annoying but it all comes to the part that people need to watch out how they get around. The zone was made with consequences in mind.
The Maw? We don't go there anymore
You are the Maw Walker, not the Maw Hoarder...
You can try to kill something nearby and use mass loot for you.
Yeah yeah, consequences. But like, you know that floating corpse has to be a bug, right? That is not working as intended, and the GM only said that to brush the player under the rug.
I mean, we go to the Maw - where no mortal has before gone to and nobody ever leaves. The Maw dont give a %^&* if we are collecting stygia for sockets - its there to be a nightmare.I have been there almost every day since launch, and I have died MANY times. Sometimes I could get my stygia back, and sometimes not.Its ridiculous if you think Blizz is going to pat your head and give you ingame currency or other @#$% cause you jumped of an edge, glitched yourself somewhere or run into an area with elites you couldnt run away from. I hear about these "bugs" - weird, nothing has happened to any of my alts for all the time I have been there.Sure, wow is not perfect - there are actual issues in it that needs fixing - but if you are to scared to loose your stygia then dont take any risks, go in a group, dont try any risky stuff like using gliders to get between the places ectI am in no form any elitist, I ^&*! up myself a lot - but then I get angry at myself and try again to do better. Its easy to point at others (in this instance Blizz) and say its all their fault, but maybe instead take a look what you can do about it yourself. To protect yourself from any future misfortune, make sure to buy the sockets when you have enough and slap them on your gear, and keep one socket-item in your bags. Then at least if you die you wont loose tremendous amounts of stygia if it happens you cant get it back. And for thous that did loose any stygia due to bugs - I am sorry that happened to you - up you go and do your dailys to get it backMuch love
