I think it's actually East of Northrend closer to the first stop. I don't think the trip makes a complete circle in game. From what we know about the lore of the Dragon Isles it should be up there by/beyond northrend and probably closer to EK than Kalimdor. Some speculation is that it's actually on the other side of Azeroth as a whole but I don't know how Blizz would convey that on a map. As for the Wowhead guess, I mean, the end point being in the South West so concluding the isle might be in the North West is kinda... a weird logical leap.
What sword?I don't see a sword. All of that was completely resolved in bfa
This is SO cool! So excited to ride it. Weird choice to dock in Vol'Dun over Eastern or Southern Zandalar, but it makes for a very cool boat ride! Also, Dragon Isles are just above Eastern Kingdoms- have been since they were first conceptualized in very early WoW development.
This is how it should be. WOW is meant to take time and be played over time. WOW is not a game that is supposed to be RUSHED.Yet, more and more players go as fast as possible and we end up with more endgame players that have no idea what they are doing and know nothing of the gameworld or story. Its truly SAD.Since players refuse to do things for FUN and will only do things for rewards, maybe give players who take boats/zepplins a little boost buff or have a little minigame they can play on them with a prize. The kids - they love the prizes.
Wonder if we can fish on the boat, that would be pretty neat. Or some kind of fishing event/achievement tied to this. Someone else's comment about faster loading screens and little background events like sea monsters or something playing out would be cool too, if you were to take the boat ride and chill and lookout for easter eggs and such :D
Turning this into a nice feature should include getting rid off loading screens perhaps turning it into an instance rather than an open world. Nice to see fresh stuff like this to keep the game lively.
Awesome.
It could actually be on North-Eastern border too. I remind you that Azeroth, just like Earth, isn't flat.
North-western? Nope, think about the geography of the events taking place in the Dragon Isles both old and new. First, you have Tyr who played such a major role in shaping the Dragon Aspects and the dragons themselves. Where did he go after he left the isles? Why to an area known as Tyr's Fall, which would later become known as Tirisfal Glades named after him. That would be relatively close by to the Dragon Isles if they were in the North-East near Quel'Danas. Also, consider the events of Uldaman and how it relates to the Dragon Isles. Then of course there is the archived world map at Blizz of vanilla wow as it was being developed and the Dragon Isles being located to the north of EK and East of Northrend...the boat ride trip has zero logic in finding a starting point. If you think of it as only traversing the visible map and making a circle without crossing lines then it would make sense to be NW, but Azeroth is not flat Earth, it's a planet which means the boat could simply travel from the last stop across the Veiled Sea into the Forbidding Sea and reach the Dragon Isles thus making a complete circle the other way round.
@Live. Wasted opportunity, stay classy Blizz.
I rode this a few minutes ago, was the same trip as the post outlines except mine didn't go to AQ, in place of that stop mine went to Azshara in the Bilgewater Harbor. Super fun little find :D
This trip was not 50 minutes trip anymore. More like 20 minutes.. Which was sadge. We also got to meet some new Alliance friends there as Horde, which was nice. But meeting time was too short hanging out on the cruise.
Out of curiosity, I cast my hyper-compressed ocean to see what would happen. While on the boat, your line will not cast in the hyper-compressed ocean, it only goes in the water. LOL. And when you arrive at a new place, the ocean despawns and there goes your 1 hr cd. Thought I'd share!
So this is going to far more places than what's listed here.
