Absolutely add this to all boats and zeppelin. Why wouldn't you?
Bet the boat to Kul'tiras is still broken though. Hopefully the boat to the Dragon Isles doesn't plop you in the middle of the ocean.
5 minutes is fine, I remember the 40 minute round trip boat ride in Everquest. That's right FOURTY MINUTES! That feeling when you're running as fast as you can but you see the boat leaving in the distance when you were almost there. And lets not even talk about falling off the boat during the trip... RIP all your gear.
It just took them 9 expansions. Better later than never.
Progress!
Every boat should have this. For people wondering why it's not an instant teleport.. Go back to Shadowlands and stay there, ya engineering addicts. The rest of us are trying to have a good game here.
Oh nice feature, only 18 years late
Now THAT is awesome. The ONE travel where this will be super useful will be the Orgrimmar - Thunderbluff zeppelin, since the trip to and from takes like 15 minutes or something.
Its not a major change but a welcome one, boats have always been like trying to watch a pot of water boil but now at least we'll have a proper timer to let us know by how many seconds we missed the boat XD.
Eh I mean we aren't in Classic, boats and things like that serve no purpose anyway. Just open a portal and call it a day.
It's a harmless feature that does nothing but good stuff, and people are still somehow complaining about it..
I've always appreciated that the boats/zeppelins are usable cross faction (with a bit of stealth and/or corpse runs), since faction-based portals aren't.
Good quality of life change but I would much rather the NPC just shout updates when the boat is coming/close/here instead of a bar. I feel like a UI addition should be a last resort when something needs to be told to the player but can't be expressed more naturally. This is a nitpick though.
