Our Timeless Isle guide covers all the BoA gear, achievements, rare spawns, and vanity items in this innovative new zone designed to keep players busy when they're not raiding. In a radical departure from previous content, this zone isn't tied to daily quests or grinding out Valor Points. Instead, players can kill numerous rare spawns for vanity items, collect Timeless Coin for unique items, stumble across secret events, and loot BoA epics for their alts. This zone is a bit more free-form than past zones we've covered like our Isle of Thunder Content Guide, but we've broken down the available content into the following components for our guide: BoA Epics: Players can loot BoA armor tokens, which can be mailed to alts and turned into ilvl 496 gear based on their loot specialization. These can be turned into ilvl 535 epics in rare circumstances, and some gear has unique transmog looks. Rare Spawns and Events: The Timeless Isle is teeming with rare spawns of all difficulties, as well as daily and weekly events that are fun minigames. Vanity Items: Rare spawns can drop everything from weather stones to battle pets, and several vendors sell unique vanity items for Timeless Coin like mounts and character disguises. Timeless Coins: Timeless Coins are a new currency that players can use to buy BoA gear, vanity items, and epic trinkets and weapons. Quests: There are several introductory questchains which unlock weekly quests for Timeless Coin and some Valor Points, quests tied to the legendary questline, and an elaborate questline tied to Noodle Carts. World Bosses: Players must defeat four new world bosses on the Timeless Isle for their legendary questline, and can access Ordos, a world boss who drops ilvl 559 loot, if a character on their account has completed the questline. Shaohao Reputation: This is a new reputation tied to killing Yaungol mobs that rewards items like Reins of the Heavenly Golden Cloud Serpent. Battle Pets: From wild pets to rare spawn drops, there's a pet for everyone. Players can also queue up for the Celestial Tournament on the Timeless Isle if they have 15+ max level pets. World PvP: Players can World PvP with Censer of Eternal Agony for vanity items purchased with Bloody Coin. Achievements: There are a variety of exploration-based achievements, which we've provided maps for. I also want to thank some of our users that gone above and beyond testing Timeless Isle on the PTR these past few months and leaving helpful comments and screenshots-- Voxxel, Lore, and tmptfate. Also be sure to check out Lore's updated guide to Mists of Pandaria Rare Spawns. Click the cut to read Wowhead's Guide to the Timeless Isle! Timeless Isle Trailer General Overview How do I get to the island? You can fly from southeast Jade Forest and you'll make it to the island before fatigue runs out. Horde camp is to the north, Alliance camp is to the south. Chromie will also point you to the island in the introductory quest A Flash of Bronze.... Can I fly on the island? No, flying mounts are not allowed on the Timeless Isle ( Temporal Anomaly). You'll want your best ground mount, as well as Reins of Poseidus for the aquatic areas and Reins of the Azure Water Strider to reach some far-off shipwrecks. Highwind Albatross is also a convenient taxi that can fly players to areas that are otherwise unreachable. Is there an inn on the island? Yes, Graceful Swan is the innkeeper on the north side of the Celestial Court. Where is the mailbox? Hopswift doesn't look like a mailbox, but speaking to him works like a mailbox. He's next to Graceful Swan on the north side of the Celestial Court. Are there flightpaths? Yes, the Huojin and Tuishi camps on the west coast have flight masters. Will doing anything here help me in You'll need to do several quests and kill world bosses here for your legendary cape. Besides that, Siege of Orgrimmar? Empowering the Hourglass awards 0 Valor Points, which you'll want for your item upgrades, and if you're just interested in Siege of Orgrimmar, you'll need ilvl 496 gear which just so happens to be the level of the Timeless Isle BoA gear. You can also purchase some ilvl 535 trinkets for 0 Timeless Coin. There are so many rares and events, how can I tell what's going on? Blizzard has introduced a new feature alerting users to rare spawns and events. The minimap will display a skull if a rare spawn is up, and crossed swords if an event is available to complete. How can I tell if I've already completed or looted something since it's not straightforward like a quest log? Blizzard tracks a lot of these seemingly random events with "flag" quests, like "Tom" Bone Apart - Tracking Quest for the event tied to Zarhym Altogether. These quests don't show up in your log, but you can type "/run print(IsQuestFlaggedCompleted(xxxxx))" in-game, where xxxx is the quest ID, and the response will show if you've already completed it or not. The map below highlights the important areas and content, which this guide discusses in more detail. Timeless Armor: BoA Gear There are Timeless armor tokens which are BoA and can be turned into a spec-appropriate item based on your character. These armor tokens can be acquired several ways: killing mobs, looting chests, doing initial quests, and purchasing caches for 0 Timeless Coin each. It is completely random what slot and token type you get from looting creatures and chests. If you buy a cache from a Timeless Coin vendor, you can control your armor type, but not slot. To create a wearable piece of armor, first send the token to the character who will equip it, check that you have the correct loot specialization selected, and then right click on the item. Legs and chests have one socket, and helms have meta sockets and an additional socket. Cloth: Cloudscorcher: any Mage or Warlock spec, Amaranthine: any Priest spec Leather: Cranefeather: Rogues, Guardian, Feral, Brewmaster, Windwalker, Fire-Chanter: Balance, Resto, Mistweaver Mail: Ordon: Resto and Elemental, Crimsonscale: Enhancement and Hunters Plate: Cliffbreaker: Plate DPS, Elder Tortoiseshell: Plate Tanking, Everbright: Holy In addition, there are Timeless capes, trinkets, rings, and amulets. You can upgrade armor tokens to ilvl 535 epics with Burden of Eternity. Based on Voxxel's comment, you can get Burden of Eternity the following ways: The Burden of Eternity must be applied to an armor token, not a wearable piece of ilvl 496 gear. For a full list of ilvl 535 Timeless epics, click here. If you don't just want to leisurely hope for tokens to drop, looting special chests for Treasure, Treasure Everywhere on all characters, as well as weekly quests like Blackguard's Jetsam will speed things up. Exploration Content Rare and Elite NPCs There are 30 new rare spawns on the Timeless Isle needed for Timeless Champion. They all drop interesting loot, which we've described in the Vanity Item Drops section below, as well as Timeless Coin, Lesser Charms, and BoA tokens. We've got a new video by WoWMartiean, who has previously made videos for all the Isle of Thunder and Glorious rare spawns. We've also included two maps--one that's just an image you can easily reference with names of all the rare spawns, and another map with pins linking to Wowhead NPC pages if you want to visit specific pages. When a rare is up, a skull will appear on the minimap to alert you. You can also farm rares by using Scroll of Challenge at the Three-Breeze Terrace, which costs 0 Timeless Coin and requires Honored with Shaohao. Rare elites do not have any tag restrictions--meaning you do not need to be grouped up or of the same faction to kill them. Killing these mobs the first time per day gives better loot, tracked in quests like Tracking Quest - Daily - Huolon, but this does not seem to affect all vanity loot. Vanity Item Drops (Going to Need a Bigger Bag) These vanity items, looted from mobs on the Timeless Isle are needed for Going To Need A Bigger Bag. There's an overwhelming amount, so we've broken them down by category, from new pets to character disguises. Pirate-Themed Content Unsurprisingly, shipwrecks are a common theme on the Timeless Isle. If you kill the final boss, Rattleskew, you'll get a special vanity item that summons spectral pirates, Captain Zvezdan's Lost Leg. Located between the Alliance and Horde bases is Blackguard's Forgotten Cove. After you loot the chests, the Rare Spawn are friendly and stand around the treasure chest cheering. The Rare Spawn can be farmed for Spectral Grog which creates a spectral pirate disguise. Firewalker Ruins: Ordon Candlekeeper (5, drops Charred Recipe, Battle Horn), Ordon Oathguard (10, drops Charred Recipe, Warped Warning Sign), Ordon Fire-Watcher (10, drops Ordon Ceremonial Robes, Blazing Sigil of Ordos). The Blazing Way: Burning Berserker (15, drops Big Bag of Herbs, Forager's Gloves, Charred Recipe), Molten Guardian (20, drops Cauterizing Core), Eternal Kilnmaster (20, drops Blazing Sigil of Ordos, Charred Recipe, Eternal Kiln), Blazebound Chanter (20, drops Ordon Ceremonial Robes, Blizzard Stone). Rare spawns also give additional reputation--however the reputation amount will decrease based on the number of people that have tagged it.
Each area has pros and cons to farming:
Firewalker Ruins:This area is the easiest to solo and has fast respawns in a small area, but the reputation granted per mob is low. It's pretty efficient to group up, pull everything to the center, and AoE. Blazing Way: This area is convenient if you are trying to also kill Leafmender, Huolon, and Cinderfall. Burning Berserker is the easiest mob to kill when soloing. The mobs in general are pretty spread out, except by Shrine of the Black Flame, which will require a party for the Eternal Kilnmaster. A neat detail is that these mobs are really into herbing--they drop herb-themed items, cast Forage, and have lots of alchemy elixirs lying around in Ordon Supplies. Ordon Sanctuary: The mobs here grant the most reputation but are the hardest to kill between Eternal Kilnmaster's Blazing Blow and High Priest of Ordos using the most annoying abilities from each other Yaungol. You will need a group for this as well as a legendary cape on one character to jump across the bridge gap. There are creative ways to make it across the gap without a cape, but since the mobs are difficult to kill, it is hard to find a group while undergeared.
Reputation bonuses work on these mobs:
