To me, none of it makes sense.

Even the tree being in the Dragon Isles, so far from Kalimdor... If it gets planted IN the Ohn'ahran plains, are they gonna ask the Maruuk Centaurs for their opinion? Like the Centaurs say "these plains are our lands!" and Tyrande goes "Yes. OUR lands!"
Logistically, it's like if London burned to the ground and brits said "let's rebuild it in France".

Then there's the fact that the time-skip means Tyrande had the world-tree seed for 3 years and did nothing with it. If she wanted to see Merithra in the Emerald Dream to plant it there, there's a ton of waygates to the Dream. Her husband is THE Archdruid Malfurion Stormrage. Nothing should prevent her from going there, nothing forced Tyrande and Malfurion from entering the Dream specifically from the gateway in the Ohn'ahran plains. But nooo, she had to wait for a world-threat to happen, otherwise where's the fun?

And here's the less obvious. WHY a world-tree? Why do the Night Elves even need a world-tree for a capital? They have been refugees for more than 7 years... Can't they work on a whole new city in Hyjal? Historically, they only started having a world tree as basis for their capital with WoW. They spent 10.000 years without that...

And then, I wonder how it's all going to work for new players. Like, if you create a new Night Elf, are you still gonna have the option to start in Teldrassil? Will you then have to level to 60 or even 70 to 'unlock' your capital city? Or will they make a third intro where you start in the new world tree?
