Love your clear explanation and text formatting. Was a joy to read. thanks.
Great writeup. Your door of shadows analysis is the most level-headed that I have read. Thanks for giving it some perspective.
But I have been told by every single streamer fishing for clicks that door of shadows will literally ruin the game and is the most OP ability in WoW history! Are you saying they're not being fully honest?
TL;DR , in short . Go Venthyr or Kyrian , and Suck It Up arms buddies.
I thought ancient aftershock generates 6-30 rage every 2 seconds.
The night fae covenant ability is better for M+ skips since you get a movement speed buff with 3 15 yard blinks and invisibility at the end.
Great read, thank you for such clear image of my main spec.
An Archi post on the warrior? This is going to be good.
SL Arms Warrior in a Nutshell: Condemn harder ^^Just cant see a way arround picking Venthyr as Arms :D (btw Condemn does shadow damage so your execute ignores armor now).
they need to make arms a crit spec instead of a haste spec. they can slow down the rotation as much as they need to if they want, but if you reward the player's patience with 100% crits, then it satisfies the specs theme of slow meaningful attacks and satisfies the players cuz seing those numbers just POP on your screen and have them be HUUGE numbers, is just oh so satisfying. then a talent like "focused rage" which does nothing immediately but rewards people that stack it would make a lot more sense. it always feels like garbage when the big heavy attack never crits and does garbage dmg. idk why blizz thought haste was the solution for this but it's not. it's crit. certain moves/talents should be "guaranteed to crit" and just give us stuff to do in between like stacking short term buffs(focused rage stacks/overpower stacks) and bleed/dot management. (rend/deep wounds) the concept has been there all along. they're very close. but instead of those stacks simply "increasing dmg of X" it should just be "increases crit chance to 100% and dmg by x%"to compensate for absurd damage, they would just need to slow it down further by making all the other attacks weaker thus accomplishing the specs theme.MS and execute should be the only ones to guarantee to crit (and guarantee to hit imo) after building them up with all available stacks. everything else should be nerfed to balance the dmg.
So Arms is still boring to play? Guess I'll pass it again. It might do a bit more dmg than fury but if it sucks to play that doesn't matter
Arms feels a lot better to play in Shadowlands than it does in BFA.I can't really put my finger on why, though. I haven't really played Arms all that much since MoP. Every time I've tried, it never really clicked with me and I always ended up going Fury instead.Until Shadowlands. Arms is one of the most fun melee specs to play on Beta. I can't figure out what exactly changed to make it that way, but it's so good that I get excited at the prospect of leveling more than one.I'm seriously considering maining an Arms warrior for the first time since I started playing WoW.
Anyone know if Stoneform and the Phial of Serenity share CD akin to PvP-trinket and racials?I would love if Blizzard changed up the utility rows. I'd love to pick Impending Victory on Live, but I am cornered into Storm Bolt for both m+ and PvP. Same thing with Bounding Strides and Def Stance. I can't skip Def Stance, but Bounding Strides makes Heroic Leap feel like a complete ability.
Test of Might is the only thing that makes arms rotation fun and satisfying in bfa. Just remember arms in bfa season 1 - it was the most boring spec ever outside of sweeping strikes + execute window. I don't see any legendaries or conduits that can make arms rotation fundamentally fun like ToM does now in bfa.
Rotation doesn't look very exciting, talents could change and stuff so we don't really know. Seems like it suffers from "we're pretty much leaving it alone and using expansion features decide it fate" like other classes. The change to mastery is very welcoming however, it might make that stat useful now. Wish they would just ditch the bleed though, its not really "mastery of a weapon" like. Chance to crit in its place would be a lot better. Or even straight bonus damage - like some other classes have for mastery. Major covenant abilities look nice, it all depends on situation and what you're doing though. Necrolords can make it tankier in pvp - especially if all players are counted as powerful.

@mods : can you put links to the other "State of x class" articles in each one ? I want to read the others but it's to find them using the search engine, thank you.
