Seems there's some syntax problems with Tigole quote :pEdit : and also "The two major Scryer/Aldor-esque factions that I would think would be in the Maelstrom expansion would be the ? and the Steamwheedle Carte"
Haha, the hogger one made me laugh :)

I see the legion coming back, in some form, and here's why:The Scourge's main purpose was to weaken to strongest force in Azeroth so the Legion could invade and take over. They succeeded in destroying the Alliance of Lorderon, but with the Horde's rebirth and the Rise of Stormwind, Achamonde jumped the gun, and the survivors of Lorderon, the Horde and the Night Elves were meant to hold them back. Then when the Alliance and Horde brought to fight to Outland, Kil'Jaden attacked the sunwell and tried to come back through it. He failed, but it got the Horde/Alliance out of Outland. So then the Lich King tries, and they have to divert more forces to Northrend. If the Lich King is to defeated, the Alliance and Horde will have to spend almost all their resources to beat him, so they will be weak. A PERFECT time for Sargeras to lead a full invasion, or perhaps Kil'Jaden will try again.
I would go with the ED xpac (im a Druid 8P). As for the "Arch-Druid" class i would think that they would be more of a summoning class, the summon animals and such to do their bidding. Think Malfurion Stormrage... he does this in a way.
Maelstrom. Simply because I want battle boats with (Alliance) Murlock (Horde) Gnome cannons!
This is so far the best thing I've read concerning the next expansion. A lot of excellent ideas, and it was a good read :)I hope they make a Maelstrom expansion. I haven't thought about guild ships, but that would be an awesome idea. And more water-mounts would be extra nice. Still haven't got my turtle though :(Emerald Dream is also nice, but I'm a little concerned about the "Arch-Druid" hero class. Although it would be perfect for the expansion, then I'm having trouble to see how it will be different from the Druid class. I like the idea of putting the Green Dragonflight into it though. One little thing that would be missing from an Emerald Dream expansion is "a new thing". Burning Crusade has Flying mounts, races and the introduction to heroics. WotLK has vehicles, hero class and a new PvP zone. What would be "the new thing" in an Emerald Dream expansion?Edit: Maybe some new races for the Emerald Dream? Furbolg would be a great choice, maybe something where something where they start in a zone near winterspring / felwood (hyjal?) and they then choose which faction they will join.
the boat system sounds a lot like what Dark Age of Camelot did a few years ago. and yeah it was pretty cool!
I don't see boats being a major mechanic of the maelstrom expansion, but I can see boats being used in a Wintergrasp like area and/or a BG, or maybe even an instance/raid. But its not going to be the bulk of the game as suggested. To elaborate, Not many know that Strand of the Ancients is an island (or group of island) south of Northrend and north of the Maelstrom, with the Path of the Titans running through it (take a look next time you're in SotA). This, along with many sources of lore suggests to me that there are several dozen island all bordering the Maelstrom itself, including Tel Abim to the southeast and the Broken Isles to the south, that could easily be zones for the speculated xpac. These islands and water zones (such as the Drowned reaches and The Rift in the center) are likely to be the individual zones players will quest and level in, should the xpac come to exsist. It is also possible an undersea civilizations and zones will be available to players, such as an atlantis like city (especially Mak'aru)Other islands not near the maelstrom may also be included to continue the nautical and island theme of the possible xpac, especial Zuldazar, the troll gathering spot for all tribes, and the Darkspears original home (before echo islands).Lastly there is a piece of lore where the dead husk of Kil'jeaden was kept in a tomb deep in the ocean, this may be a likely spot for a raid to face Kil'jeaden himself, as his spirit still wanders looking for a body strong enough to contain him. Islands inhabited with Naga are also a possibility. With the strong allure of the maelstroms powers and resources, couples with the islands treasures and mystery, mages, demons, ethereal (remember them?), goblins, pirates, and us adventurers, many forces have a stake in it.(longer explanation than i expected.) I can also reason why the emerald dream will not be an expansion, or at least give reason why maelstrom will come first, or even have the emerald dream be a zone/raid/whatever within an xpac and not the full thing. Just think of CoT, only the green dragonflight instead of bronze.edit: forgot the troll island sunk, yet its still a possible zone
Waterlevels have always sucked in every game; all Zelda-games, Turtles, Sonic and possible some more. But what matters is that i can't think of a single game with a fun waterlevel!Call me pessimistic but i don't think it'd work in WoW either.(wrote this mostly because i want to shine a light at the fact that waterlevels suck!)
mabe to enter the maelstrom u have to complete some Q that allows u to walk and breath normally under water but that mite be a bit long if 11million ppl are eager to jump in. for the emerald dream isnt there ment to be some sort of sanctury for the green dragonflight that could be the city. but i think we've already been to another planet y not that place the draenei came from argus to get there the gnomes build somthing i dunno.
