Talebound End-Game Player Power Rewards - Venomstones, Bonus Rolls, Experience Potions

I'll probably be made fun of for saying this, but I'm genuinely sad. I was really looking forward to this event when it was announced. A PVE plunderstorm/soulslike that can be done solo and with friends, with themes from two of the coolest zones Drustvar and Revendreth. It sounded awesome, and I still have some hope that it can be. The problem is how it's being setup to basically fail from the jump. Feels like Blizzard doesn't even believe in it, and if that's the case, players probably won't either.

They designed an awesome themed mount that was clearly supposed to be a capstone reward for doing this.. and it goes to the shop. Instead it gets mostly crummy player power rewards for one of the most unpopular seasons that is over half way done that has felt abandoned after a pretty bad launch. On top of that, it has to compete with the forever launch timing being similar (unless it gets delayed or even scrapped for all we know).

I'll call it now and we can see if I'm right, hopefully I'm not. At the very end of season 2, they are going to announce that this mode of the game is being removed to stir up engagement. So then more people are going to be doing it for FOMO achievements and cosmetics. So that will be held against the game, with a bunch of useless player power rewards that expire next season. It disrespects both the time of the players and the developers of this mode. On top of that, it discourages them from trying new and different games, which they will simply repeat the FOMO and abandonment cycle all over again, instead of trying to make something new and fun people can continue to enjoy.

And blizz think this can save retail? Bring back the old affixes in the M+, make them more tactically based and not DPS-based like in ^&*!@#$%. Bring back a true sense of competition to the game, make the raids less focused on super pro guilds.

Stop being a loser dude

Limited random mythic caches, really? So someone get weapon from last boss and someone get bracers? Why can't we have cartel coins back?

Comment by MrSparx

No thank you.

I have just lost all interest in trying talebound. Just another FOMO trigger.

Now I see why this smaller minigame with less content than Overwatch requires a subscription, because it has power rewards for WoW. You're basically just paying for the rewards instead of playing a fun side game.

Anyone know if this is per character or bnet account?

Players who complete each of the puzzles in a story will get a potion that grants a 10% experience boost for 2 hours. As there are four stories and four achievements, you can get 4 potions.

To people holding hope that Forever might be different, remember, it's the same company that does this sort of thing.

'Please play Retail, our engagement metrics are #$%^ed!'
Lmao, no

I kept asking my husband if he’s going to play, out of excitement because he answered yes each time, and now…. I’m not going to touch it, there’s no point.

sad to see the return of old blizz trying to "force" us to do their new thing since they apparently have no faith in it. guess ion's word only goes so far

Not sure how I feel about getting all this player power from what should be a fun event. Sure its nice to get 5 extra myth items, but they're only going to last another 6 weeks or so after the event.

Cool cosmetics (that all seem to have been shoved onto the store instead) last forever.

Really pisses me off that they attached player power to this
